  1. We performed DJP's Xenogears mix, "7YearsBroken"! It was the only planned performance, but Dave and Andy also did some live improvisations on video game tunes.
  2. Yeah, considering that people were lining the back *and* sides at this panel, I think 500-600 is a very realistic estimate. Woowheeeeeee! Great pics, José! Dyne sent me his (and he had a lot), so I'll post some highlights from him. The VGL slide - look at how dwarfed we are by that screen o_O zircon and DJP improvising some VG tunes, and José playing air guitar from the side! PosiBolt, Kroze, and injury looking at movie footage Check out the tattoo on Eric (from Mad-Gear!)
  3. Where are the panel pics? I know at least one or two people took some!
  4. As cool as that blurry action shot is... Here are some other poses in case anyone wants to use them as models.
  5. :< VGDJ: The Official OverClocked ReMix Podcast :< All about OCR - the music, the community, and lots of special interviews with ReMixers and video game composers etc. We ended about half a year ago, but 67 episodes should last you quite a while.
  6. Ah, I see. I didn't realize you were editing the video, but cool.
  7. Jiggles recorded the sound with his camera, so I don't think it'll be an issue. Still waiting on the footage from him, but it could be cool to use some shots from your angle as well. How should we transfer? ^-^
  8. Love everything about this track. Aweeesoooome work, and hope to hear more soon!
  9. Can't wait to see photos of the panel! The video itself may take about a week because we weren't able to get the footage from Jiggles' camera directly. Also, really bummed we couldn't make it to the Eminence concert. That would have been a great way to end the whole shebang, I'm sure. Next year we'll probably splurge and try to stay somewhere closer by. Poor Dave had to drive over 2 hours every day just to get everyone there and back.
  10. Wow, that looks like one badass jam session. Definitely wanna meet you west-coasters sometime... MAG 6, anyone? :>
  11. Yeah, here's a detailed account: Andy and I found the already silver-bodied guitar for $30 on ebay... Plus another $30 for shipping. I ordered silver spray paint from an art store and he and Bahamut helped me paint the neck, headphones, boots, etc during the Philly meetup last month. I knew about BGC's wife's expertise in polymer clay design, so I placed an order for all the custom SNES buttons with her. Once they arrived, Andy and I spray painted a manilla folder, and I used various glasses to trace the different circle sizes for the back of the D and button pads. A little adhesive, and we were good to go. Very pleased with the results, and huge kudos to Amanda for her precision!

  13. The CD's were zircon's "Antigravity" and various SGX albums. Nothing OCR-related for sale except shirts and hoodies. ^_~
  14. Bummer! God, that sucks. Well, we're all (me, zircon, Dave, Larry, and aureus) running a little late this morning, too. Supposed to meet at the fountain by 12:00, but we'll probably get there around 12:15-12:30. Sorry! See you all soon.
  15. Whewwww... Just got back to Dave's, and we're all pretty exhausted after the 3 hours of sleep yesterday. Had to get up at 5:30 this morning. I might try to post what pics we have so far, but no guarantees they'll be up tonight. SO tired. It was fantastic to see you all out there today! Thanks for all the support; what a crowd... Lots of new faces! Hope to see even more of y'all tomorrow.
  16. rofl In other news, Jiggles McPuff will be bringing his video camera and tripod! Kroze may not make it time to catch the beginning of the panel, but he said he could also film from a different angle when he arrives.
  17. CORRECTION Larry's post above isn't entirely accurate. Anyone who has pre-registered has already paid, so you don't need to bring him money if he's picking up your badge. However, you DO need to provide him with your registered name and Member ID number through PM - still by 3:00 today! The website states that people picking up pre-reg badges should bring the number and a photo ID to "speed up the process." What does this mean? There's no guarantee Larry will be able to get it for you. It would awesome, but please don't count on it. PLAN TO ARRIVE EARLY on Friday just in case; lines open at 8:30 AM but I'm sure they'll form even earlier. We'll let you know if he was successful or not by 10:00 tonight.
  18. Wooooooo! Panel! Yay! If you want to make it in time, be prepared to pick up your Otakon badges either Thursday night (between 5:00-10:00), or pretty darn early on Friday. We start at 10!
  19. Come to think of it, Chipotle could be a good spot to get food relatively fast, and there's also a cool Chinese fast food place next door called The Blue Bamboo! There may not be enough seating inside either of them, but there's an outdoor seating area there if we can stand the weather. Everyone could choose which kind of food they want, and then... assuming the crowds aren't too bad... we could meet outside. Definitely a more affordable option. If ESPN Zone has a restaurant, you probably have to pay to get inside first anyway. Hard Rock Cafe is next door there, but I think both of those places would be too loud.
  20. We can't really make reservations anywhere because, unfortunately, we have no idea what our numbers will actually be. (Especially since we might get some suprise guests following the panel...) I think it's safe to assume that there will be a wait no matter where we go, but Cheesecake Factory is one good option. Legal Seafoods is great, too, and there might be less of a wait because it isn't quite as popular for big groups. BTW, Larry, that restaurant was the tapas bar, "La Tasca." UGH! Never going there again. ^_~
  21. FYI, the reason we did the lyrics half in Japanese is that Claado Shou (the director of Chrono Symphonic) thought it would be a nice tribute to the composers and makers of the game. Especially since it was the "credits" track for the movie script - that kind of thing is done a lot in foreign films. It wasn't my decision, but I think the thought was nice. Also, semer (if you ever read this)... I studied Japanese for over 2 years and used it in Japan to great success. Unfortunately, half of those studies came *after* the song was recorded, hehe. The English lyrics were written by Claado, and the translation into Japanese was done by EvilHead (a member of the forums here who teaches English in Japan). He told me my pronounciation was next to perfect... Oh well. There are times that I wish we could redo this song, especially given the nature of the collab. Reuben recorded the piano *before* I sang for it, so all the timing issues are a result of trying to follow his lead with tempo and inflection when we weren't ever together in the same room. Just doesn't work; the pianist is supposed to watch the singer in live performance. But I'm still glad to have it in my OCR repertoire. Thankfully not everyone out there is an otaku nut, and can at least be touched by the music itself.
  22. Does anybody have a video camera (preferably with tripod) they can bring to tape our 10 AM panel on Friday? Mine was stolen recently. ;_; Jiggles, perhaps? Anybodies?
  23. The audience was ~ 300 last year, but it was only a 1 hour panel. We're crossing our fingers for the same kind of crowd!
  24. Andy's not home to update the first post, but here's the info for the actual MEETUPS. Meetup #1 Friday, July 20th - Directly following our panel, which ends at 12:00 noon We will congregate outside of the panel room and make our way to the harbor. If there are any people like Xerol who can only come for an outside meetup, wait at the big fountain (it's a multi-level thing directly to the left of the harbor). We should be there by 12:30 or so, and then we'll all head off to lunch. Meetup #2 Saturday, July 21st - 12:00 noon at the big fountain Same fountain as described above. We'll all hang out and get lunch somewhere in the harborplace.
