One of these, maybe? LT: 3 is the winner. Gracias. Funny, the nature of Arthur running makes the image look like a rectangle.

If you kept her upper torso and drew a table where her arms appear to be resting against, she'd fit right in at a bar. If she's putting on the dance moves, she needs more flexibility overall (her belts can be wider, too, to give her more space to move around). The bottom tip of her hair (bending out from her back) looks out of place, whether she's at rest or in motion. And I'm sure you already notice how odd her right leg looks. Clever choice with the red eyes; it goes with the pretzel and center of her headphones, plus it references the red eye / button on OCR2's front page. Her expression, I think, could show more focus and determination, whether she's checking out that eccentric drunkard or teaching a n00b how to tear up the dance floor. To me, her eyebrows and mouth project a "meh" sort of emo. If the grays contrasted more, her collar would be more visible behind her semi-folded arms (Nice Work reference?). Contrast livens up stuff, too.

Marvel vs. Capcom - Onslaught: Namco x Capcom - Mega Man Juno: Super Ghouls 'N Ghosts - Arthur in his (Psycho) Underpants: SNK Gals' Fighters - Athena: LT: Give Arthur a good in-game background and I'd add it. Rest are bueno. And the remaining Mega Man 7 password faces: LT: Thanks for completing the set!

1) Yes. Check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-GmK9Beq6M 2) No plans for a Sonic 1 ReMix project as far as I know (we have a lot of ReMix projects going already).

Here be three fifths of the "Ultimate Team" as promised: Here's also the Mana Beast from Secret of Mana: LT: S'good.

I commend you and your conscientious dedication, overseer of OC Avatars. The update put a big grin on my face. (insert emoticon here) Speaking of yellow faces, here's Pac-Man in-game: And to be honest, I think my own suitless Samus sub could use some tweaking. Namely, her head and feet cut off, and she's a bit dark. Perhaps this could replace her? --> I decided to give the Battletoads faces from the BT&DD select screen a go, so I'll post them when I have them ready. Maybe if you centered Don's face more. Like this: Also, the first "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Raphael" (the darker, closer face) would be from TMNT IV (I don't blame you though; we now have 4 turtles from 4 games, so a slight like that is almost expected). LT: Tre bueno.

HAPPY 2ND BIRTHDAY YOU TEXT HEAVY THREAD <3 LocoRoco Sony Computer Entertainment 2006 Pictured from LocoRoco Bio It's a fact in the gaming world that if you were a globular, blobular star of a handheld game named after you, then both you and the world you'd inhabit would be saturated with happiness. Such is the way of the LocoRoco, who spend their days tending to nature, eating berries, and singing songs in their own carefree language. When they learn their planet is threatened by the invading Moja Troop, they work as one - literally - to stop them. Thanks to its jellylike body - and the player's power to tilt and jolt the planet - a LocoRoco can roll, bounce, and bound about in search of different-colored LocoRoco (first as Yellow, pictured), Loco House Pieces, and friends with unique ways of transporting them from one spot to another. By eating berries, a LocoRoco can grow quite large, and when the path turns into a duct or other narrow niche, it can split into smaller tykes to pass through gracefully, then reassemble. Quite the flexible bunch. Quote: "Nyooo~i!" Appearances PLAYSTATION PORTABLE LocoRoco (2006) References Wikipedia - LocoRoco LocoRoco: The official PlayStation game site Beyond Get Loco

My gut says Larry would call those faces "ugly," so I'll pass on your offer. But I bring tidings via your request yonder (hope you like): K. Rool staring straight ahead looked kinda blasphemous, so I found a less offensive angle of the pirate-garbed Kremling king. LT: The Double Dragon guys are ugly, but the Battletoads sprites are ideal. Nice work on these faux-Smash Bros. ones.
-
Um, Dafydd? Just a heads-up: I already converted the Starfox avatars for you (and brightened them up a touch): And Liontamer - we know you've got priorities with Otakon and all. No rush. LT: Not even just Otakon and VGL' date=' but real life is evil! Aside from The Lady and work, any other distraction from OCR is unfortunate. We've actually got another convention we're potentially in talks with, so thems the breaks. Can't prioritize these first, even though this stuff is infinitely more appealing. :'-( Nice work on Dafydd's Star Fox subs.[/color']

I'm loving the refined order and comprehensive details at play in the avatar roster, LT. Very nice work. Here's some more fixes / upgrades: Capcom ~ Fighters The Card Fighters version of Chun-Li is from Card Fighters 2 (like Strider Hiryu), as is... SNK ...Vanessa and Kula here (like Iori). Square ~ Chrono Chrono Trigger Zzz1 - Yuji Horii Chrono Trigger Zzz3 - Kazuhiko Aoki Chrono Trigger Zzz9 - Hironobu Sakaguchi (Rexy named them way back here) Square ~ Final Fantasy FF4 - Palom and Porom's names are swapped (the SNES sprites on pg. 2). Palom = green suit, red cape; Porom = red suit, yellow collar, green cape Square ~ Xeno Xenogears 1 - Citan Uzuki Xenogears 2 - Elhaym Van Houten Xenogears 3 - Fei Fong Wong Anime .hack//Sign 1 - Tsukasa .hack//Sign 2 - Orca Ah! My Goddess 1 - Belldandy Ah! My Goddess 2 - Skuld Ah! My Goddess 3 - Urd DNA² 1 - Tomoko Saeki DNA² 2 - Karin Aoi DNA² 3 - Karin Aoi (again) DNA² 4 - Junta Momonari El-Hazard 1 - Rune Venus El-Hazard 2 - Nanami Jinnai El-Hazard 3 - Katsuhiko Jinnai El-Hazard 4 - Shayla-Shayla El-Hazard 5 - Alielle El-Hazard 6 - Masamichi Fujisawa Excel Saga 1 - Hyatt Excel Saga 2 - Excel Excel Saga 3 - Pedro Excel Saga 4 - Nabeshin FLCL 1 - Haruko Haruhara FLCL 2 - Eri Ninamori FLCL 3 - Naota Nandaba FLCL 4 - Mamimi Samejima Great Teacher Onizuka 4 - Eikichi Onizuka Neon Genesis Evangelion 1 - Eva Unit-01 Neon Genesis Evangelion 2 - Shinji Ikari Neon Genesis Evangelion 3 - Asuka Langley Soryu Neon Genesis Evangelion 4 - Rei Ayanami Neon Genesis Evangelion 5 - Gendo Ikari Neon Genesis Evangelion 6 - Misato Katsuragi Neon Genesis Evangelion 7 - Ritsuko Akagi Rurouni Kenshin 1 - Sanosuke Sagara Rurouni Kenshin 2 - Kaoru Kamiya Vision of Escaflowne 1 - Van Slanzar de Fanel Vision of Escaflowne 2 - Allen Schezar ...and last but not least, I figured the "mmmod" avatars in the Capcom ~ Mega Man category could use their native backgrounds, as seen in the Mega Man 7 password screen they come from (I simply edited out the numbers): LT: I will definitely get to these eventually, but my priority of late has been the panel and getting ready for the upcoming Otakon presentation. This update is great, and I'll enjoy moving forward with it once I get some free time, most likely the end of next week. Thanks, bro. EDIT (7/26): Got to all of these finally. Thanks a lot for these details. I feel much better about our entire avatar package with you and everyone making me aware of any info I need.

^ Cool, makes sense. We'll see what Larry would like done. LT: Give Coop's suggestion a try and we'll see how they look. Otherwise, I honestly don't mind using the mini-style faces with the regular green/blue backgrounds, and then these close-up crops with the corner colors. Okay, tentative batch (spaced and resorted): LT: Personally, I'm not feeling the muted background colors. Seems pretty drab. When I get home tonight, and you have them ready, I'll upload the crops of the close-up pictures and leave the smaller versions with the original/in-ring backgrounds. Thanks a lot for experimenting with the different background, it was definitely worth a shot, and I certainly liked them. If I could have only used 1 set, I would have went for the smaller ones with the recolored backgrounds. Thanks for all of your help, guys. It was fun experimenting. I wanted to add a link to a RAR file with the cropped mugshots, but it died on me, so I'll have to triple post the faces...

Oh, so THAT'S why I thought they looked creepy. Heh. Ah well. Elbow room version: EDIT - Moved Glass Joe, Don Flamenco, Great Tiger, Bald Bull, and Mr. Sandman up a pixel each so as to better center their mugs: [/EDIT] If they're still bueno, I can GIF 'em separately for you to take. Not sure what else to say at this point, except I wouldn't mind the second option (Solo's subs, after all, stay authentic with their in-the-ring backdrops). But I would suggest that my head-and-shoulders Mr. Dream be used, as his intro color equals his boxing ring color.
-
That works for full sprites within the 32 x 32 dimensions. If added around cropped sprites, they'd look empty and alone. Larry preferred my Bad Dudes avatars with their native colored backgrounds over transparent ones. Of course, a border also helps, making it look and feel "finished" (see: Card Fighters avatars), but that's another story. Would you suggest toning down just the brighter backgrounds so they don't clash with the darker ones when viewed as a group, or would you say do it for every boxer so that every face gets more attention than its respective backdrop? Also, for reference, here's each boxer in his corner: Because each pixel row and column is delicately occupied, I'd avoid a downsize, which could lose details that keep the original feel of a sprite (in my opinion, downsizes and clean-ups are better saved for non-sprite artwork). On the other hand, if they were cropped, we'd more or less get these: At best, they would make more detailed additions alongside their smaller in-ring counterparts. At worst, they're creepy and cropped too close. Perhaps a balance between intro screen crops and in-the-ring hue variations would suffice? Is a vote at all feasible since Larry turned my post into a thread? Also, cousins? SoloGamer and me? O SNAP
-
Fixed. ;P ... Actually, I can supply some different background colors for the Punch-Out!! fighters. First, a comparing / contrasting pic: Top row is Solo's bunch; bottom is mine with each boxer's background swapped for their intro screen hues (except for Mike Tyson, who shares Mr. Dream's blue screen, so I left his green to match his ring color). As requested, here's Piston Honda and Super Macho Man, plus Mr. Dream: Any more you want? As you can see, most have their own intro colors to begin with, some not so different from when they enter the ring. LT: I'd value your input. In your opinions, what do you think makes for better icons? The main thing I'm concerned about if the avatars looking too similar if used en masse. The other option though is doing 32x32 versions (cropped to a square, then resized) of the intro screen portraits that would be available alongside the existing icons taken from the matches, leaving those backgrounds alone. If intro screen portraits aren't feasible at 32x32, then I'm leaning toward Polo's recolored material.

Super Mario World - Mega Mole: DuckTales - Magica DeSpell and Flintheart Glomgold: Lufia 2 - Gargoyle enemy: Speaking of which, the Lufia avatars in the Sunsoft category are all from Lufia 2. Their names are: Lufia 01 - Artea Lufia 02 - carpenter Lufia 03 - Maxim Lufia 04 - Guy Lufia 05 - Dekar (surprised)* Lufia 06 - Selan Lufia 07 - Tia (falling / jumping down) Lufia 08 - Erim Lufia 09 - Brinz Lizard Lufia 10 - Amon Lufia 11 - Venge Ghost * this also appears as Lufia1_10.gif in the Miscellaneous category. LT: Thanks so much for these new additions as well as all of the Lufia 2 fixes. Back when I added those, no specific information was given. I was sincerely hoping someone would eventually come along and provide more details, so I really appreciate the help.

The last 104 bios have been edited! (click to read) With the exception of system names being left as link-less text, these follow the format of the Wiki'ed Toyota Supra bio. Every bio appears in the order it was fully completed (except The Coop's long Darkstalkers bios, which come right after his short versions). Among the tweaks I applied: Links were updated / fixed in almost every case (one exception is the Darkstalkers 3 manual in Lilith's bio; Game Manuals.net was absorbed via osmosis by replacementdocs.com, which surprisingly doesn't have the PlayStation manual archived), quotes were added to quote-less mascots (if yours was a hitherto silent type and you're uncomfortable with what I stuffed into his/her/its mouth [*cough*Crono*cough*], you can suggest an alternative), and Japanese titles were changed to their American equivalents, among other things. I'm not gonna send this to Liontamer just yet. There may be British / Australian spelling / grammar / punctuation issues I overlooked, some port titles I erased that have more features than simply being on another system, whatever. So I'll let you guys browse through the bios in the text file link above, written by us, touched up by yours truly. If you have any nitpicks you wish to discuss / debate / OBJECT to à la Phoenix Wright, now's your chance. Hope to see the fruits of Linearity's labors as well.

When you log on, go to the forums index and scroll down to the Currently Active Users section. Your name will appear first. Mouse over it and you'll see "member.php?u=" in the Status Bar followed by a number. In your case, it's 20796. You can also mouse over your name after you make a post to see it. Oh, and welcome to the forums.

Shingo Yabuki and Rugal from The King of Fighters R-2: Druaga from Namco x Capcom: And since Evilhead started giving borders (and backgrounds) to some Card Fighters avatars, do you suppose Juli, Shermie, Chun-Li, Kula, and Vanessa could use the same upgrades? To be consistent with the series, I mean. (Capcom ~ Fighters) (SNK) (Capcom ~ Fighters) (SNK) (SNK) LT: Wasn't feeling any of the 3 new ones (ugly sprites), but thanks for the background updates on the existing ones we had in order to keep the look consistant. Nice work.

Here's the hero from Abadox (NES): Kyle Blackthorne from Blackthorne (SNES): Rubas, end boss of Deadly Towers: And an enemy witch from Namco x Capcom (PS2): LT: In order, 1) can't tell what that is, 2) ugly, 3) ugly AND can't tell what that face is supposed to be, 4) YES

I noticed two avatars cut off differently. Do these fixes look better? --> --> Also in the following categories: Nintendo --> The R.C. Pro-Am car is called "Rcproam Brighter" (in case you wanna change it) and Square ~ Final Fantasy --> "Ff4face Cecildarkknight" is actually Kain's mugshot. LT: Thanks, bro. I appreciate the attention to detail more than you know. Everything should be fixed.

Amen LT! *salutes* Thanks for taking the time to look over our subs, accepting, rejecting, commenting, and being particular about the quality and all. The end result is a golden collection. I'm happy to be a contributor / find my subs in the colorful archives / see people* sporting my avatars / read my name listed among the more notable contributors. Many awesomes. Even if vB's 4-image limit perseveres, I find it's not that big a deal after all. I'd say it forces us to be more judicious with our subs. * wormguy - YOU'RE WELCOME

Hiryu (Card Fighters 2): A Tonberry from FF8: Kid Dracula (NES): And an armed skeleton from Castlevania 2: LT: That Tonberry looks ugly, but the rest are coo. Thanks!

*surfaces out of the water* I've fully proofread 52 bios, which means I'm halfway done with my share of editing. Just so you dudes know. *sinks*

Why has Sexy Trunks been moved under Super Street Fighter II Turbo? Isn't Balrog's theme the same in The World Warrior save for the instruments used and the key change?
