  1. The tentative plan is to release the album on December 17, one week after the deadline. So... The absolute LATEST that anyone can have tracks to me, is by Friday, December 14. After that, I most likely will not accept tracks after that day so that I can rename all of the files, create the zip/rar file, edit the appropriate web pages, and get all of it uploaded for release by Monday, December 17. Now, I will be honest, it does not take that much time to do all of those things, but in years passed, I have never given myself a lot of time to get it done, nor have I had it ready to go prior to Christmas Eve. This year, I'm going to have the album released prior to Christmas Eve, and I'm going to take my time and do these things the correct way and not rush it. That said, please do your best to have the tracks by the deadline, Monday December 10, but if you still need some more time, you can extend the deadline out to December 14. Also... Please feel free to send me your tracks either here on the forums in PM form (soundcloud works well for allowing me to download them), or, you can send me files via my gmail address at: dyne2057@gmail.com I'm looking forward to seeing this one through. And I'm definitely looking forward to starting next year's project a little earlier.
  2. Just checking in with everyone to let you know that I'm still watching and waiting. I will be checking all of my email within the next hour as I've been quite busy. Holidays are brutal, aren't they? Anyway, any questions, throw them my way via PM. Anything related to the album, see the OP, and if that doesn't answer it, send it my way.
  3. Hey everyone! So, it looks like we're going to have an epic album once again this year! I'm very happy about this. I definitely look forward to all of the participation from the community, it gives me the warm and fuzzies. So, I do have one request, which I will put in the OP. And, following this, if anyone else is looking for a collab partner, feel free to post in this thread, and/or send me the PM and I'll put it in the OP. Hoboka is looking for someone to collaborate with him on his track. He's looking for someone with good production skills. Please feel free to PM him and talk with him about it. And remember, the deadline for the album is December 10!!! So get those remixes, originals, or other songs, to me by that day!!!
  4. Just a reminder in case anyone has missed this thread. You can still join in the project, just remember that the due date for all music to be submitted is in the original post. Good luck, and have fun!!
  5. So, I was keyed into this by Danimal: https://www.youtube.com/embed/FMPPOTZRc0U Listen to this, and tell me that's not Jetpack Blues. Because it is, obviously. There's very little difference between the two, it's downright blatant infringement. On top of that, Disney has deleted all of the comments pointing out the infringement. Here's Anamanaguchi's original track: Spread the word about this.
  6. Sorry, I've been very busy for the last few days, and haven't really had time to talk. Yes, Christmas themed, or, it can just sound very wintery in nature. Kind of like a walk outside on a cold day in a blizzard or what not. The point is to make music that everyone can enjoy. In fact, it can even be a metal song. Like I said in the OP, all genres are welcome. And while it is a Christmas album, you can theme any part of the song or all of the song as Christmasy or wintery. Whether it's lyrics, or the way the song itself sounds. Just have fun with it!
  7. I will say this much, it's going to be a more planned out project than you're used to seeing me work on. The time frame will be rather tight, but, it'll be worth it.
  8. I am so very pleased that there is so much interest in this project! I hope everyone has fun making wonderful music! And after this project is complete and released, I will be making an announcement for a future project starting early next year!
  9. Well hello everyone, greetings. So, it's that time of year again, and I know many of you are excited! So, let's get to it: An OverClocked Christmas NEEDS YOU! And more specifically, your music! So, the following should answer all of your questions, I hope... LOL! The Details any genre is welcome collaboration is always welcome you may rearrange or remix video game, traditional, or even write your own original for this album Album Deadline In past years, I ran the deadline right up until Christmas Eve. This year, we're doing things a little differently. This year's deadline is... MONDAY DECEMBER 10, 2012 There are a few reasons for this. First and foremost, I'm taking a suggestion that the album be released sooner so that everyone can enjoy it throughout the month of December, not just for a few days before New Year's Eve. Secondly, I'd like to avoid banging my head against a wall the day before I go to the annual Christmas Party that I attend. And finally, it gives us all a little more room in case something catastrophic happens (which, if you know me, you know is entirely possible, such as errors with the web pages or naming mishaps with the MP3s). So, that should be that! How to Contact Me The easiest way is to contact me via PM here on OCR. You can also contact me via GMail at: dyne2057@gmail.com If there are any questions, comments, suggestions, or the like, please feel free to send them my way, and even post them in this thread! Thank you, and I look forward to your tracks! Source Round-up! ocre's been kind enough to round up some awesome source material if you're looking to remix some video game music! Check it out at this link: http://ocremix.org/forums/showpost.php?p=881972&postcount=19 In case you missed it, here's the web site url for An OverClocked Christmas -- http://www.obtusemusic.net/OCR_Christmas/index.htm Looking for Collab Hoboka (looking for someone with good production skills) Encoding your Tracks I would like your tracks encoded at 192kbps, 44khz and in MP3 format. I do this to keep it uniform. If you have sent me a file already that happens to be a .wav, I will personally re-encode it at the encoding as specified above. Thank you!!
  10. This is something I can truly get behind.
  11. Yes. In fact, Obtuse just alerted me to the fact that this thread exists. I will announce the album within the week. The Coop, you are always forward thinking on these albums. I welcome your cover art, and especially your music. I really like the sound of that. I think I will bring that up in January during MAGFest. We'll see what kind of response that generates. Heck, I'd do it just because it sounds like a really awesome idea.
  12. So, I've known about this for some time, and I'm sure others do as well, but if you don't, here's the word on it. MIT, that's Massachusetts Institute of Technology, has an online site featuring undergraduate course materials otherwise called MIT OpenCourseWare. It's a very awesome web site, and you can learn tons of exciting things from Engineering and Math to Biology, Chemistry and more. One of the many featured undergrad programs happens to include music! That said, I just wanted to share this here, and maybe help some folks out who are interested in learning using this particular offering from MIT. http://ocw.mit.edu/courses/music-and-theater-arts/
  13. Most likely. I thought it was Tarlok...until Amon showed up. Honestly, it would be very, very strange if Amon turned out to actually have bending abilities, and just be hiding them. I mean, they did say that only the Avatar had the ability to take away bending. But it's quite possible that someone could learn that ability as others have learned metal bending and blood bending.
  14. Radio ThaSauce is live...though I am a bit late in telling anyone! LOL! Join us on Esper.net via IRC in #areciboradio and listen in at http://areciboradio.com!
  15. I've been hearing about this all day, and all I can say is this, if you like OCR, and you want to help support OCR, then by all means, spread the word via Facebook, Twitter, etc... and help support OCR, and more importantly, help support the musicians who made this album possible. When I see people complain about this kind of thing, I wonder to myself, what's the point if people are just going to jump down the collective throats of the staff members? Do any of you realize how long this album was in production? A very long time, two years. This is a huge album and a huge deal. Why shouldn't OCR attempt to promote itself, and its musicians, along with it? You can get upset all you want, but if OCR doesn't promote itself, how else is it going to get the word out? (Oh, and by the way, I know for a fact that this album will not suck. I have it on very good authority, in fact.)
  16. This is rather... surprising actually. I am very saddened by this.
  17. tl;dr (because I'm lazy). Anyway, here's something interesting from a Wikipedia article (this one in fact: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_Organization_for_Multimedia_and_Digital_Systems) about ROMS or Russian Organization for Multimedia and Digital Systems. http://www.time.com/time/printout/0,8816,1203802,00.html
  18. No, Dyne from FFVII.
