  1. I filled out the survey, but when I clicked the "Done" button it told me the survey was closed. *sigh* I spent more than a little time answering each question and, while it was enjoyable to fill out, I certainly wouldn't have done so had I known it would be lost to the ether. Oh well. Good luck with your dissertation. Perhaps you can post it as well when you finish so we can see what you took from everyone's input.
  2. It comes from none other than the venerable Warcraft II.
  3. +1 to Blaster Master, Kid Icarus, and Metroid. I also loved the original Metal Gear. Aside from the great gameplay, this game is worth experiencing if only to be shown how far localization has come in 20 years. As far as making a NES controller work with your PC, Google seems to think that it is a rather complicated process involving soldering etc. However, there do seem to be SNES controller to USB adapters out there for sale.
  4. Just like a few of the earlier reviewers I immediately thought of Silent Hill. It's really a great piece. I'll enjoy listening to this until you decide to grace us with more.
  5. The Castlevania Dungeon is another good site with info on the series. BTW, congrats on the win Rambo and excellent selection for this FAC. http://castlevania.classicgaming.gamespy.com/
  6. Wow. There were so many great entries that it was really tough to pick a top 3. Fantastic work everyone.
  7. Got mine submitted. It's been literally years since I've sat down and drawn something up. It was a lot of fun, and I can't wait to see what everyone has done. Oh, and thanks to The Lone Gunman for going the extra mile to receive my submission. Curses to angelfire.com.
  8. This is one of those pieces that really places me in a certain state of emotion throughout. For that reason alone I would consider it enjoyable and a success. However, for the same reason I find it inappropriate for my casual listening lists. A great song to listen to when I'm trying to create something that delivers that same emotion of sadness, emptines, and loss. I'm really glad I checked this piece out. Well done!
  9. Metroid FAC wohoo! *pumps fist in the air* I can't wait to see what comes out of this competition. Metroid is the game that really pulled me into videogaming in the first place. If I find the time to work on something, and the nerve to submit it, I may just enter something. If not then I look forward to seeing everyone's creation. Oh, I found this particular thread while checking on the "let's find good fan art" thread and spotting the link under Atmuh's sig. I'm glad I stumbled into it.
  10. Just wanted to drop a layman's opinion into the bucket. I thought it was beautiful. Like the earlier poster mentioned the guitar reminded me of the diablo town music (which is a good thing). The whistle was a bit odd for me at first (sounds like the opening to 5 Days a Stranger), but after listening to it a few times I find I like it. Though as earlier mentioned, a bit of reverb may have been nice. Overall a fine piece of music that I will be keeping in my collection.
  11. I love this song. It starts off in a way that was truly unexpected and from there out it is a very pleasant ride. I usually don't go for the techno funk stuff, but this is right on the money. Recommended. Highly recommended. Thanks to djpretzel for this superb piece.
  12. Fantastic work here. The Wingless has become my favorite remixer with great pieces like Rosenthorne and Aphrodite Oceanus. This piece tops the others and provides a wonderful escape to the listener. Download required. DeepChild
  13. I'm currently on a downloading spree, but I had to stop and take a moment to tell you how impressed I am with this work. While I am a huge fan of the source material, this track inparticular, I think your remix brings out the best parts of the original and really cranks up the intensity exactly where it should. The flow and drive of this piece is absolutely superb. This is how a techno remix should be done. You don't overwork the background to the point that it drowns out the original essence of the piece, and I think that is a weak point of many of the techno remixes that I have heard thus far. Kudos and well done! DeepChild
