  1. My only comment was that I wish the bass was louder. Since i have never heard this tune before I cant say how creative it was compared to the original. I think its still a good listen anyways, and everything shouldnt have to be 'perfect' to get on ocremix. For me its the creative edge that i like to see with remix's.. now how well it was produced.
  2. everything is great. The only thing i was suggest is adding more reverb to the snare. I just hope not every remix put on the site has to be perfect.
  3. ah.. yea i remember the work in progress in december. sounded so good i kept it.. Though, i never played Ecco 2, this is a great remix to have. The genre is like late 80s/early 90s, and kinda reminds me of legacy of the wizard and ultima online intro. There's not a whole lot going on here, but its just right
  4. im just in disbelief that this wasnt live instruments. they sound way too good. especially the sax that reverb was right on, thats exactly how it sounded back in the 60s damn this is a really impressive "wanna-be live" remix. Makes me wanna do the batman anyway, "love hurts" is still my favorite
  5. the best part of streets of rage was the early 90's dance music. Because this is one of the few games that incorporated the CURRENT dance music vibe. Many other games were still slow to catch up to the times.
  6. I like it. I like all of the processing that was done. For instance the old record player piano effect goes well. However, im upset with the violin. maybe its just me, but it sounds like the velocity is jumping around too wide. The motif itself sounds great though. well thats my only complaint. That and the way it ended hehe. i like this rendition anyway, so good job!
  7. oh wowness.. i got goosebumps listening to this. I love the way it was arranged. I love the ambience about it. And i love everything about this. Very Professional. I think it would have been complete if there were naturall ambient sounds added. Birds or tree's swaying.. etc.. Anyway.. i love this.
  8. hey let me get the bad out first. now this is just my personal preference .. I cant stand 80's euro techno blah. did someone say it was making a comeback? please say it aint so.. (then again disco did make a comeback before.. didnt it?) So, regretably, this is the first saltymans remix i wont have on my playlist.. having gotten my opinions out of the way , this remix is both poeticlly, and professionally done. You cannot argue the fact of the composition itself almost imaculate and the processing, samples, ..everything.., just sounds near perfection (minus various distortioness which COULD be intended cuz its damn 80's crap). And it's true, it is a very emotional piece of work. Very well, you'd expect no less from salty salzman.keke. I also have to mention this, but it's strange to me that some of his mixes have a little hint of j-pop in them.. MUST be just me... cuz i get into way too much japanese music, women, food, films, anime, soaps, women.. oh god i think im turning japanese.. yea.. its just me.. disregard this paragraph (unless its true Honestly though, if i'd had to change anything, i would have added a minor touch of vocoder to the vocals just for the hell of pimpin da 80's to da fullest! ya nah mean? holla! 80's... Notice how, "That 80's Show", was quickly canceled off FOX. Not surprising at all!!
  9. Sorry for not posting earlier on this remix, because it deserved my immediate posting . this remix is sounds so great. I especially like the main lead, and i also like both the PLACEMENT of the bass on the stereo spectrum and the sound of it. Really good job, the sound quality is superb!
  10. Hey, I knew it was a mod early on, but obviously with more rich sounding processing (probaby from reason usage). Regardless, Protricity made me smile because of actually doing a mod and using reason and cubase to enhance it. That deserves my respect. My only gripe is that overly used synthetic pizicato (sheesh i dont know how to spell it) sample. Now that guitar sample at 3:00 was my favorite part regardless of what others say. Synthetic or not, its very enjoyable and sounds great. A matter of fact, if i can have that guitar vst/sample/instrument whatever, i'd love to have it :) Throughout the remix, attention to detail was paid in each sequence, and it shows with the drum line. Another well done and fun remix from one of my site favs. this is game music! i've had a problem finding real sounding brass instruments, so i dont use em. I dont complain about them (if used properly i.e. NOT pitch bending them), and i realize how difficult it is to get GOOD brass's. unless you can afford to buy that memphis horns cd i heard about. Even my sonic synth pack doesnt do brass justice. So far, finding a good trumpet vst, kicks me in the ass. forget it.
  11. I enjoyed this remix, but i have some gripes with it. When i first heard it i thought it was going to be samba/house, because of the synthetic sound but it wasnt. the beat never really developed from there. This would have been much better if it was live/organic, but since it sounds synthetic it almost gives it a midi feeling. I just think, if it sounds synthetic, it would have been much better as samba/house. Its still a good job though, and a very cool idea. (although i would have chose from a mega man theme for this genre)
  12. The chords that people are complaining about works. This is what you call a remix. This is more of a movie soundtrack remix just in my opinion. Vigilante gives the kraid theme new life and makes it his own. If not for anything, this is the BEST part of the whole remix because of the way Vigilante flipped the script there. I was going to say my only complaint was the audio quality of the files, but im going to get that 74 min .wav and thats that.
  13. /emote bows down This is what you call a remix. This is what this site is all about.
  14. Finally a guile remix, and its awesome! Now if someone would get off their but and do mah boy Balrog (M.Bison JAP) a solid, and remix his tune. Great job at puting your own original parts into this remix. Good job Rayza!
  15. While i did enjoy this medley, i felt that it was lacking in originality. I want to also say that I come from a tracker background as well, so I can understand your limitations, but with the exception of the last part of level 2, which was snazzy, and the level 3 part which was also interesting, i felt not much was changed from the original version in almost all other areas. I felt more like this medley was an attempt to improve on what Kazunaka Yamane did, rather than remix it. Having said that, I liked the work with the instruments/samples available and its decent solid medley, if you havn't heard many Double Dragon covers.
  16. This is very high quality stuff here. I've listened to this remix 10 times in a row already.
  17. It happens to me too.. i often find myself composing something that i already heard, and i scrap it or store it in the private cover bin. Btw, I knew the melody when i heard it, however this is a remix and i loved how you mixed the 2 together. Very nice work! EDIT: Btw, i cant stop listening to this tune. I wanna know if you could tell me what was used as the main synth.. i love than main lead. it reminds me of a lot of music compo intro's i used to hear.
  18. WEll i had to come back here and make another coment. After listening to a large random playlist of remixes, this remix immediately stood out. that probably tells ya something hehe. I love how the bass REALLY packs a bunch btw. anyway, im really hoping you continue this style of music. I really enjoy it.
  19. That's weird, I was thinking the same thing. At 2:20, he almost has a Mindless Self Indulgence vibe with the high falsetto in there. It was cool. But overall, I'm not sure this song is my taste, because I guess it felt too empty to me (in terms of bass), and I'm not extremely fond of hip-hop. actually you made a good point about the bass. But i wont get into it. Its still a cool hip-hop remix.
  20. NICE. Star Control 2 has some of my favorite music. Good job in bringing this remix to life!
  21. YEA!! I been waiting for this remix for sometime. I really love this job by GLL. Great job man. one of my favorite Ultima tunes.
  22. I liked this remix. Its a nice take on those megaman tunes. Twisted, and enjoyable. Also the electric guitar is pretty cool. Good job, good remix!
  23. This gave me a few goose bumps at first. Dale north is just amazing sometimes. I think i could have started singing, but the guitar replaces what would have been a vocal if someone were to sing. it totally fits the tune. lastly, i did not like the ending. sorry dale. overall it is a really nice remix that gave me some goose bumps at the begining.
