  1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fd7ggm04GFo This "boss" theme immediately grabbed me when I first heard it, it completely caught me off guard. So, so very emotionally draining. What I like about it, is that it's sort of proof that a battle theme doesn't have to be energetic or grand or catchy to be fantastic in the right context.
  2. You can make a queue by clicking "Add to:" under the videos. Then click the repeat button at the bar on the bottom.
  3. I get a kind of Cyber Six vibe from the new art direction. Yet I still don't really like it. After watching the trailer a couple times I was still like... "what?"
  4. I remember being curious about this game. From what I'm reading in the SA thread Tensei just linked, it sounds somewhat appealing, but I'm reading and have read a whole crap-load of game reviews calling it mediocre at best. I dig what I'm hearing from the soundtrack so far. Beautiful stuff.
  5. If Blake Richardson left BtBAM I would shit whole entire bricks. I find it unlikely though, given how much momentum BtBAM has right now.(And how much better they are than DT. Sorry, I'm really not a huge DT fan.)
  6. Siege tanks are getting pretty nerfed in the next patch, that'll probably help a lot; Instead of doing 50 damage straight up, they're gonna do 35 + 15 vs armored. So lighter units won't get swallowed up by tank shells as much anymore and heavier units are gonna take the same amount of damage they always did. They did a similar thing with the damage upgrades too. I don't mind turtling really. A Terran will spend resources on defenses, but it's kind of balanced out by the fact that an opposing player can get ahead in tech and unit production. It makes timing your pushes and scouting really critical though.
  7. You require more vespene gas. Always. You can never have enough.
  8. Hard to define whether that's cheese or simply intelligent or competant playing at that point.
  9. Cheese strats are actually my favourite to play against just BECAUSE they're so easy to win against. They're all essentially all-in strats that basically only work because someone didn't scout properly but the person doing it gets so far behind economically immediately after it's fended off. I wouldn't say a mineral line rush is cheese as they're easy to defend against and wrecking economic advantages are an integral part of the game in general.
  10. I bought it for multiplayer. That's almost entirely all I've done since I've gotten it. I'll add you, plus I have my info in the Social Group too.
  11. I haven't looked into it yet (I'm at work) but are you still able to play SC single-player without a 'net connection? Steam has a one-time authentication. After that, you can be offline and still play your games (but it'll you to go online if you DO have a connection.) That's something I'm fine with. I do find the lack of LAN play a little silly though. It's a PC gaming staple, and internet connections aren't always so reliable. If my 'net goes out and me and my roommate want to play LAN StarCraft 2, we can't do that like we used to for SC1 anymore which is sort of lame.
  12. Got my SE pre-ordered a few days ago. Between messing around with the NS alpha and the release of StarCraft 2, I'm pretty sure I'm not going to have a social life for a week or two.
  13. It's not like people are searching in their blackest of black hearts to make people feel bad. If someone says it, that's because they're... well, being informative (and technically right.) Jus' sayin.
  14. You'll be glad to know that doesn't carry over to the second game. In MMZ2 you can continue the same mission as many times as you like (you just can't pick other missions without re-loading your save game.) Also, it's a good idea to grind enemies while you're NOT engaged in a mission because: 1) You can get a lot of EC from it, which lets you level up your Cyber Elves and gives you an easier time. 2) You level up your weapons faster, thus making enemies and missions in general somewhat easier when you go to them. (A fully chargeable Z-Saber is deadly.) 3) You earn a lot of lives, you'll easily have 9 lives (the maximum) by the time you're done so you'll be able to continue missions a lot more. (Charlemagne said you need some Cyber Elf that does some "foes drop items" thing or something but I never used any elf but the subtank ones, so you shouldn't need it.) If you spend a few minutes grinding at the Disposal Center in-between missions you'll have a way better time.
  15. I tried to go for as long as I could without any of the Cyber Elves. Then in the last three missions, I started getting subtanks because I didn't want to start repeating.the final level over and over and I knew it was coming up. I ended up realizing how huge of a help they were in those last missions. If you didn't need anything though, I'd be really impressed too. It's a frustrating game without any extra help.
  16. Or up on the Trans Server to go to the next stage. The first mission (not counting the intro mission) you don't really talk to a Ciel to do, you just transport there and it starts. If I remember right. Anyways, I've played the first and second MM Zero games before, but never finished them in the past. I bought this and FINALLY finished the first MM Zero game and I'm pretty much hooked. Awesome stuff.
  17. I just want to say this game is everything I wanted it to be, and the music in it rocks tits just like the first game, which was something I was really hoping they'd get right. Best shooter of this style that I've played in a long time. There's like a bajillion times more boss fights than in the first game and they're all amazingly fun to play. And the Wii pointer improves the gameplay a million times over. They added a charge cannon mechanic that adds something to the gameplay a lot, because it adds yet another function to keep track of and timing how you use it IS important. "Oh, and a tail!" "Sure... ... WE DON'T HAVE TAILS!!!"
  18. Honestly, I wouldn't have Sin and Punishment be any other way. It's fucking rad.
  19. I'll just go ahead and raise my hand. I used to play CS: Source frequently and just got back into it recently.
  20. Because it's as much of a reflex-testing puzzle game as it is a a rail shooter. The solution to getting past a particular enemy isn't always spelled out for you. Plus the gameplay kind of mixes itself up between melee and shooting depending on the proximity of your enemies which is unlike any rail game I've played, it's a mechanic that's well-used all throughout the game. And of course the boss fights (in true Treasure game style) are absolutely fan-fucking-tastically fun to play against and once again very puzzle-like in figuring out how to beat. It easily has as much depth as a highly regarded rail shooter like Star Fox 64. That says a lot. That said because the first one is like one of my favourite games, I have a huge boner for S&P2 right now and can't wait for it to come out.
  21. The position isn't comfortable, yeah, and another problem is how fast it wears down. It feels amazing on a new PSP, but after a while of use it gets dirt stuck in it and the plastic edges wear down so it ends up feeling not so great. I'm talking about older PSP's here, I don't know how the newer ones are. Regardless, I think the analogue nub was actually an outstanding idea. Hopefully Nintendo's doesn't suffer from the same problem.
  22. Oh wow. I'm ashamed of myself for forgetting Alcest on my list yesterday. Infusing ethereally beautiful vocals, lyrics and imagery with droning shoegaze and black metal. Écailles De Lune (Part II) Souvenirs D'un Autre Monde Oh, Devin Townsend, how you make me smile. My reaction too, haha Majority of the album is quite good.
  23. Cynic and Atheist have been around since the 90's brah. They've been mentioned in this thread like a bajillion times. Edit: Oh and and Gorguts.
  24. I've discovered a lot of stuff since I last posted here so I figure I'll share it. Exivious - Jazz fusion death metal. They've been around as a band for a while, but just recently released their debut. Featuring two members of Cynic, a member of Textures, and a member from a band I've never heard of called Sengaia. - For you prog fans out there - This is actually the only band on the list that technically isn't new to me, although in one sense they still are as I never checked out all their material until recently. They're the inspiration for the legendary band Agalloch (featured in my signature). Also helped establish the sound of black metal when it was still growing up in Norway. For some reason after their first 3 albums, which were metal albums, they decided to completely change genres into experimental trip-hop.Ihsahn - Well, okay, this artist isn't new to me either, but the album I'm about to mention is. Ihsahn recently released the third album in his trilogy. If you consider yourself a fan of metal and don't at least know who this is you better reconsider your definition of metal fan and educate yourself promptly. Features delicious 8-string guitar, which is something new for Ihsahn. Sumatra - A technical death metal/deathcore band from Russia, featuring two of the most talented technical guitarists I've ever heard. Even haters of deathcore and breakdowns can find an appreciation of this band. Recently broke up, then reunited. Their guitarist Karen Grigoryan has some outstanding solo stuff. Oh, the best part? The band (and Karen) offer ALL their material for FREE. Oh, and Periphery released their debut album. It's pretty good. If you don't dig the clean vox (like me) or hate growls, then there's also an instrumental version of the album you can get in the deluxe edition of the album or on iTunes, because these guys are immensely talented (featuring 3 guitarists, which is pretty unique... one doing Djent rhythms, one doing other rhythms, one doing leads) and shouldn't be missed for a second. I have a crap-ton of stuff that's really brutal and heavy I'd like to share but I know the majority of OCR isn't into that so I'll share if asked. P.S. Because I love you all, here's a little bonus, A recorded version of that Cynic song I posted in the thread earlier.
