  1. Hate 'em. So glad this is not an issue for PS3/BluRay. Yet. Part of me wants to see if I can get replacement cases out of spite like some of you other dudes.
  2. I think programs exist that can pull tunes off of an ipod but I can't remember. Try googling.
  3. I'm in the same boat. Exact same thing, 5th Generation 30GB iPod, headphone jack stopped outputting the right sound channel after two years of ownership. I've been sitting on this problem for a while now actually, it's been in that state for like half a year, I just haven't gotten to fixing it. I just decided last week that I'd opt with the DIY solution since I finally got a PayPal account set up and can now order the parts I need online. I'll let you know how it goes if you don't find a resolution by then. Sorry I can't be of more help.
  4. I've been obsessed with bands that utilize Meshuggah-like rhythms lately. If you like melody, check out After the Burial and Animals as Leaders especially: After The Burial - Rareform and Berzerker and and Animals As Leaders - CAFO and Tempting Time
  5. I'm desperately trying to tell you why I hate Lufia 1 but I had to get through 10 random encounters just to finish this sentence.
  6. They need to come out with a full-length release already. And I agree with everything you said.
  7. ya down with the power fight the good fight etc etc
  8. I think you have JoeFu mistaken for a zealot? The type who yells and screams about taking down the corporations and sticking it to the man and other hippie bullshit. All JoeFu ever did was say, "Hey guys, here's what's up, I think what's happened here is pretty gay and you might too." And then you all ragged on him. Of course he's gonna defend his position but never once did he act like some kind of martyr saving the gaming world or something. I'm not out here to send a strong message to IW/Activision or to think I'm making a world of difference. I just disapprove of what was done to the point that I know my enjoyment of the game would be crippled and I'd rather not support that waste of my time or money. Unlike the people who signed all sorts of retarded petitions and joined retarded Steam groups (none of which I joined) I'm not out here to make some glorified statement expecting some corporation to listen when I know exactly how those things go. It's one thing to join a Steam group and SAY you're concerned about something. It's another thing to be worth your salt and actually do what you intend. Now stop smugging up the atmosphere.
  9. I still haven't bought it and am not going to buy it. So no, JoeFu is not the only one.
  10. $%^#%^*&$%&*%^$% luckily I have a ps3 but fuck's sakes I already bought the 360 version
  11. I like what KH did actually. It helps that the pop songs themselves were actually really beautiful songs to begin with (this coming from a person who genuinely despises most - but not all, but most - pop music... speaking of, both songs for FF13 really just don't strike my fancy in any way) but they also adapted the lyrics of the same song for English and Japanese versions for their respective audiences.
  12. I'm not usually so up in arms about stupid bullshit like this, if it was most other companies I might give them the benefit of the doubt, but it's Activision and I know what they're trying to do because it's their M.O. I despise matchmaking, it doesn't resolve anything but people will defend it anyways for some retarded reason. Hackers still hack, abusers still abuse, 13-year-olds are still 13-year-olds. It contributes to more lag too. I like to support communities and play with familiar people, on their servers, on their terms, with their own set of forums, and hang out. That's an aspect of online gaming that I absolutely hate losing. And it's competitive. Some communities will pick up the slack of others that suck and try to make a better experience with constant moderation and a good set of sportsman-like values. Then you bookmark that server and become a regular because you LIKE going there. It's that simple. Matchmaking just bundles you up with whoever the fuck it feels like with no sense of consistency. What value is there in that? What is there to defend about that?
  13. 1up.com, because it has journalists I can tolerate for once and occassionally NeoGAF
  14. Just remembered Uncharted 2 comes out today too I'm pretty sure. Gotta pick that up too when I get to the mall later. Uncharted is getting ridiculous rave reviews. I hope it's not being overhyped and lives up to the expectations. Man it looks sexy. Damn these next couple weeks are gonna be busy. Just one more hour to go before work ends!
  15. Anyone pick this up yet? Any impressions? I'm waiting patiently for work to be over.
  16. I was impressed with how not watered down this game was. During all the previews I saw a game with lots of potential but I was worried about a couple things like, how does it control and feel to play, how "metal" is this game actually going to be, how well is the soundtrack gonna match the mood, how good will the voice acting be (especially JB) and most importantly, despite the name, how brutal and vulgar is this thing actually gonna be? Then I played the demo and most of my worries were put aside. I would've probably purchased it anyways, Tim Schafer is one of my favourite game devs pretty much ever, but I'm just glad to see that according to my first impressions, Double Fine managed to get the game done properly and far and above my expectations.
  17. Just metal shows. One I'm probably excited for the most is probably Vader and Decrepit Birth headlining with Augury, The Amenta, and Warbringer, Nov 20. I'm especially excited for Augury. I saw Ensiferum a couple months ago and it was an awesome experience. 90% of the people were drunk, and they still moshed, but it was the most jovial mosh pit I ever saw. People had their arms around eachother and were singing (yelling) along to the songs and headbanging like crackpot Irish drunkards, prancing around, patting eachother on the back like buds and getting crazy and rowdy rather than brutal and violent in the pit. Mainly during the really upbeat Celtic parts. Then during the thrashy parts it was your typical pit. I loved it. Also Petri Lindroos is pretty damn tall for a Finn. Also pay close attention to their bassist's bass guitar. The workmanship on that thing is amazing.
  18. especially since I was pretty unsatisfied with SF4... glad to hear they're supposedly fixing online and balance (but adding 8 new characters? good luck "balancing") glad i didn't pay for it the first time, but I'll probably buy this
  19. I never realized this was an issue in gaming. Just pretentious music scenes. Or at least I've never been bothered by it.
  20. I like the all the different systems in FF8 like Junctioning, Drawing, GF's, and setting GF Abilities. It's one of my favourites because of that. It was the first FF to try and really break away from FF's regular old battle system in every way and reinvent it with something way cooler while still making it feel like an FF game. FF12 was the second game I've played to do that. I've never played 10.
  21. I don`t think the Slim looks that aesthetically pleasing to be honest. The weight reduction would be nice though, the PS3 is a beast of a system weight wise.
  22. Just like they said there'd never be a Dualshock 3. Or that there never was a PSP redesign in the works. Or that there was no such thing as a Slim PS3. Or anything like that. I never trust a word that comes out of any company's mouth. Also, I don't know how other people's ISP's treat bandwidth caps but mine just bitches at you if you go over. We do pay extra now though, just for the added speed and higher caps. If some people's ISP's start tacking on extra fees for going over limits then it might be time to invest in a larger hard drive for the PS3 because it'd probably save you money in the long run. But with the difficulty in the availability of certain PS2 games I can see the marketplace definitely finding support for it since it seems people are using downloadable games services like Steam regardless of the size of the games (HL2 is 3.5GB for example.) So depending on the product people ARE willing to download big for games they want. Amen to that.
