  1. I mostly just think Ubisoft needs to get rid of these awful advertisements they've been doing.
  2. It's has boring instrumentation (aside from what Neko posted) with boring lyrics I can't relate to because I'm not a bumpkin. But some of it's a'ight. For similar reasons I can understand someone not liking death metal for thinking it's wankery and I could totally understand if someone can't relate to the lyrics because said person is a whiny sissy little girl who can't handle harshness and manly things.
  3. I think genres and sub-genres are a great thing. If I'm looking for something specific, I can get something specific. It also helps establish a timeline of when certain styles branch out.
  4. Wouldn't hold your breath. Skyrim is looking quite fantastic though. Anyone sort of notice that the third person system/animations seem waaay improved?
  5. I think FF13 just caters to a specific kind of audience that I'm not. Or something. The characters, the story, a lot of it just felt like a mess. It got to the point where I got to Gran Pulse and after so many hours of clenching my teeth I threw my hands up in the air and said "I'm done with this." Glad I did because I went through Mass Effect 2 instead. I'm kind of surprised to hear they're making a sequel heh. A lot of people I've talked to really did not dig that game.
  6. Schuldiner is definitely one of my favourites. While I feel like a lot of genre pioneers get surpassed by bands that come after them, I feel like Chuck's growth as a musician and his tendency to lean towards a lot of progressive and innovative songwriting in later Death albums really sets it apart from a lot of death metal even today. He was taken from us far too early.
  7. Impressions so far? Love it. It does has its flaws, like it's wordiness will still get on your nerves. Presentation is fantastic. Fans will love it, but it's not going to change anyone's mind if they didn't like the GBA games. But you know what? You auto-attack the next enemy when the one you targeted dies. That makes me soooo happy.
  8. They operate out of Richmond, BC and have always shipped in Canada dude. I have no idea what you're talking about.
  9. I've never liked ETG's policies and like people said, lack of NickServ and stuff is annoying. It's probably close to one of the worst IRC networks of that size that I've been on. I get so frustrated watching how often other people have issues with the network. It's not bad enough that I would hate it if we stayed, but I would honestly prefer a move. Nobody does get why. That's why ETG is a shitty network.
  10. I know a lot of you follow SRK and Eventhubs, but there's bits and pieces of the balance changelog being released each week for the Arcade Edition (and inevitable console patch release.) http://shoryuken.com/f315/ssfiv-ae-blog-changes-lets-nerf-more-stuff-game-isnt-defensive-enough-255022/ I've been attempting to play Sakura, and I'm glad she got buffed. She's got some blatant disadvantages in a lot of matchups. Nothing ridiculous, she never goes below 4-6 on tier lists, but the number of instances where she's at a disadvantage definitely made her a good candidate for some retooling. Today, they just released the notes for E. Honda, Ibuki, Rose, and Gouken, so check'em out. Next week is gonna be the official notes for Blanka, Abel, Ken, and Makoto. I'm honestly not sure how I feel about some of the changes so far. Maybe the benefit of El Feurte's changes will be more evident after release, but it seems like he could've used a little more tuning than what's listed there. Then again I'm not a high level player by any means. By the way, how many people are still actively playing this? I just got back into it. My PSN name is Sloogs, I'd love to play some of you guys.
  11. Yeah, was a real letdown. I'm glad they released an instrumental version at least. Some of the tracks stand out more once the vocals are gone. Like IBBIAZ said though, they're just higher produced versions of their demo tracks. In some cases, you might say overproduced. I liked some demo versions of the songs better. Anyone else listen to Jupiter by Atheist yet? Fantastic album, even if it's a little short.
  12. I was kinda sad when I first read this. Yeah, I kind of agree. I really liked the met-girl's design. A little ditzy looking, but other than that I'm drawn to it.
  13. Any game that autosaves or won't let you backtrack when you have no life/ammo/resources left, followed by a major world-shattering boss fight, followed by an aneurysm.
  14. For those that are lazy: http://www.capcom-unity.com/jgonzo/blog/2010/10/19/professor_layton_vs_ace_attorney_announced_for_japan The exact blog post is right there. You're going to need a Unity account. It takes no time at all to set up, and Unity usually has a lot of cool stuff for the community to give feedback on.
  15. I'd be cool with the reroll. I was out of town for a while, just got back yesterday, so I never got to finish my project. I'm sure someone probably nuked it by now anyways, guess I'll find out after work tonight. Either way, I wouldn't mind starting from scratch.
  16. So I bought this game and I've gotta say, it's pretty rad and has a lot of potential. I'd be down for an OCR server. I haven't tried the multiplayer stuff yet. Also, affter looking at the logic gate type stuff with the redstone or whatever, this game really does seem like it has a pretty amazing future ahead of it.
  17. in Final Fantasy 8 is written in 5/4 and is easily my favourite FF battle theme. Wow, very cool analysis.
  18. Not to mention Lv. 1 Hard Mode is an amazing way to replay the game and REALLY test yourself. Like, fuck, seriously. The regular difficulty is pretty damn challenging to begin with. I rarely replay games a second time, if I do it'll usually be a few years or more from when I played it the first time. Lv 1 Hard Mode convinced me to replay it ASAP and I've enjoyed every minute of it so far.
