  1. Silly Cain, that's not true at all is it?
  2. I like FFIX. Now, please make good tracks people
  3. Nah. The lack of Bayonetta in every single post though, THAT's disturbing.
  4. Thanks guys, I'm glad you enjoyed it
  5. Let me help you with that. - SIN AND PUNISHMENT, Virtual Console Game of the Year, All Years.
  6. While I think Larry's dumb when he's not letting a phrase finish and subtracting one second because of it, that still doesn't make this less liberal. I don't know what Shariq is hearing but beyond what Larry pointed out (and that's already very liberal) there's only original stuff. Even IF you counted all the little gaps Larry didn't count you would fall under 50% and that just ain't right. The production is not Caio's best work either. The drums, string and organ (solo) all sound dull and slightly synthetic. It lacks a lot of the finesse usually found in his work. While it's not bad, it's certainly not gonna weigh up the arrangement. I'm sorry man, I love the track in a vacuum but I don't think it's passable just yet. Since you both tackle the source liberally AND using original stuff for a bit over half the track it's more like a VGM-inspired track than an arrangement. It sounds great, Blad's got chops too, but I can't sign off to this. NO
  7. YOU'RE FIRED! Sorry man, this doesn't do it for me. Sound effects were tacky, sounds felt really vanilla, the sequencing was incredibly stiff, the arrangement was repetitive and basically nothing clicked. I don't know what Larry's been smoking but I can't pass this. NO
  8. I've given this a lot of listens now to not make a hasty vote. I will keep myself short though. Overall track was LOUD but you can fix that. Arrangement won't win any awards for composition but I thought it just squeaked by. There were no big "edges" between the different sources and the build-ups/drops worked well. Overall I'm cool with this if the levels are fixed. YES(borderline)
  9. A lot has been said so I'll keep it short. Arrangement is full of tasty original material but lacking in source. When the source IS present it's quite conservatively handled. It just didn't strike a good balance between source and original material. Production was overall good but I thought the instruments were a bit lacking. Electronic stuff was pretty vanilla and the sitar-ish thing was a low point for me. Percussion was overall really good though! You can definitely make this work, you just have to polish it some more! NO(resubmit)
  10. Amazing stuff. Arrangement balances carefully between interpretive and true to the source in a very sophisticated way, the playing is just great and I personally think the guitar tone was more than satisfactory. Can't ask for much more in a solo guitar arrangement! YES
  11. It's in there but it's too liberal. 0:21-0:25 has the opening phrase from 0:18 in the source 0:31 does the same thing 0:54 does the same thing too and so on Arrangement is extremely liberal, the drums rely heavily on one loop, the backing is static, some of the melody work sounds a bit odd and not cohesive and the sound fx feel a bit annoying after a while. Sorry man, can't sign off to this. NO
  12. Like Palpable said, I would've LIKED to hear some other non-chiptune stuff thrown in for good measure. There's not a doubt in my mind it would widen the scope of the ReMix a bit and that you could pull it off. As it stands though, this is a terrific arrangement and the chiptunage is mixed with other stuff. Enough other stuff? After taking the arrangement into consideration I must say, yes, enough other stuff. Next time I suggest taking it a little further though YES(borderline)
  13. Like Jimmy said the production still has some flaws. The guitar tones sound a bit too wide and sloppy at times, couple that with the sheer volume and how upfront they are and it's not all that it could've been. The vocals are handled pretty damn well, most growling always gets destroyed by extreme distortion or similar but I thought these worked well. The lead guitar also sounded a bit sloppy, that chorus only made it worse imo. Overall though, this track certainly does it for me. Arrangement was a decent personalization of the sources and had some great energy. Production might not have been all that but it's certainly not bad, rather the other way around! Good resub YES
