    • And here we are. What an amazing journey this has been.

It is quite a trip looking back through the years of this project, I am not going to lie. Almost 8 years... wow. So many memories and friendships were made during this, and I treasure each and every one of them deeply. This project means so much to me personally. Reflecting on each memory really tugs at the heart strings.

As I was browsing through the art files while listening to the soundtrack, I found myself starting to think about all the memories I have treasured working on this since the day it started. Those memories that I treasured started to just flood my mind all at once: all the laughs and joy shared between all the artists, all the hype that was created when the project first debuted... heck, even the arguments that was had between my younger, dopey self and others about progress and how things should be. That is when I realized something: throughout the years, the project became something more than just a collaboration. It became something that was "real" to me.

Development for this project was very interesting. Throughout the lifespan of this, I have gone through 8 hard drive crashes. This constant data loss set back the project immensely, which explains why the updates came pretty frequently at first, but then came only every so often. Not only that, but I have gone through 9 different Flash artists, probably the biggest setback. Development for the storybook side of things was pretty much in a perpetual state of limbo because of the constant problems I had with artists, either with pay (learning experience for sure here), commitment problems, or just straight communication. Suffice to say, the production of this was definitely a unique experience. Definitely stressful, but memories I would not trade for the world.

I want to thank every single person who was involved during the development of this project. The whole thing wouldn't have even reached this far if it wasn't for the staff that I have worked with. Each one of you guys are so amazing and deserve so much praise. I could seriously go on and on, raving about each of you and just how amazing every single contribution you have made to this project was and just how much it meant to me personally, but that would make this far too long (and far too sappy). I will say, at least, that I platonically love each and every one of you and I thank you all. The friendships that I have made with you are bonds that I will cherish forever.

I want to also apologize to every single fan out there who has waited ever so patiently for the release of the project and was hoping to see the Flash storybook I dreamed up come to life. Deciding to release the project as-is was by no means an easy decision for me to make, trust me. I slept very little the night I submitted this because of how much this affected me personally. It felt like a small piece of me left me, but in the end I know it is for the best. It has come to the point in this project's life where I have to just let it go.
And, with all that said, I present you with the fruits of the labor of the most amazing and awesome staff that anyone could have asked for. Some files are unfortunately missing (thank you HD crashes and failures), but a vast majority of everything is still retained and put up on this site.

      Thanks for the memories, guys.

    • After a long and arduous, nearly 10-year journey, I'm finally proud to present Milky Way Wishes: A Kirby Super Star Tribute! I'd like to extend a deep, heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to and stuck with the project after all these years, through all the silly delays, project rebirths, and the mind-numbingly long periods of absolute silence. It's all over now, and the result is something very special and dear to my heart. I'm so excited for you all to finally hear it. Please enjoy Milky Way Wishes!

    • If anyone thinks directing an album is easy, I have two words for them: think again.
I came on the album very late in the game. Currently, I'm one of the main OCR staffers who tracks albums and helps directors prepare for their release. I had been in talks with Arek about getting a bundle of the album ready for me to begin album prep for quite a few months, since he had decided that the storybook idea was likely not to get finished within a reasonable time to meet his expectations. I had been poking and prodding him off and on until I got a call one morning that the whole album had been posted on the forums as a bundle. As an artist on the album, this was not the release I was told it would get when I signed on. As a staffer waiting to get my hands on the file, this was not what I had expected either.

This album has more heart in it than most other things I've come across in my life. The art, the music, and the legacy that this album has deserved to be given a proper release. I've had the music since it was submitted for evaluation two years ago. Milky Way Wishes has been inches away from being released for so long, how could I let every bit of hard work reach completion in a minimalist release? After talking with Arek, halc, and the staff, I ended up coming on to take care of the odds and ends to get this ready to roll out.
My experience with administering this album may have been short, but it has been intense. halc and Arek and everyone else involved with it should be proud of what it is, instead of what it could have been, because as it is, this is one amazing tribute to the little pink puffball.

  1. My opinion is probably gonna be unpopular here, but I didn't have a problem with him releasing the music. I made my song in 2005 and then re-made it in january 2008 to keep up with standards. That was 5 years ago. Of course I'd have liked him to contact me about it first, but I kinda just want people to hear my song already?

Still, the project was shaping up to be cool, and I liked the storybook idea. Sorry I haven't been very active here about that. I remember we had a really cool flash storybook with flippable pages and cute art, and it was a working demo! I hope something like that can still happen.

It's not that your opinion is unpopular, its just that it doesn't likely reflect the same sentiment as other artists on the album. Speaking as one of them, I was approached for the Plaid Muffins track being included on the album under the pretenses of it at least getting a normal kind of release, even if the other aspects of the album didn't pan out the way it had been planned. Especially if you have a song wait that long, what's the point in having waited if the resultant release virtually guarantees that your waiting will have been for naught? No big post, or fanfare, or even organization. Just a mediafire link and a forum thread that would get buried within a month. This album, and everyone's work on it, from the creator/directors to the musicians to the artists, has had so much love already poured into it that a drop-and-walk-away I would have taken as being extremely disrespectful.

The staff preparations on the album are nearly complete. I can tell you from the amount of time I've spent being intimate with the album, and utilizing the assets that were available, the release is definitely nothing to slouch at.

  2. I'm not angry or anything, but a real release would be infinitely preferable to a .rar in a forum thread. Plenty of albums have been successfully released with less material than we have here.

Maybe all we need to do is reevaluate the original project vision. If the project feels like a hollow shell of the initial plan, let's give it a good squeeze so it's more compact. It won't have the same shape, but it'll be just as solid. :<

I have worked with Arek and we are moving forward with a planned release. It will be soon. No definitive date but the album is now in Staff hands and is moving forward accordingly. Regardless of what it could have been, I'm guaranteeing you'll enjoy what it ends up being.

: D There we go. And thanks a ton L99; Great job on your end m'friend.

LOL no i wasnt saying that because I wanted credit. I was saying that as a jokingly droned response that my enjoyment of this song has nothing to do with the fact that I had a part in it, hahahaha. Oh, internet. How you obscure my tone of voice and intention with my words.

I actually feel bad for sitting on it for so long. My to-do pile gets easily obscured sometimes when people don't bug me constantly to get on stuff. The best way to get me to finish something is to poke me with a stick until I do it. Keep up the great work, Ruku. Always looking forward to what you, AND DiGi, are coming out with.

  4. Collab between the awesome DiGi and myself - released officially to the public (even to my surprise XD) and I thought I'd share it with the forum. We hope you enjoy.

    .

this song is awesome and i love it i also in no way shape or form had anything to do with the mixing and mastering of it what no how dare you

Fo real though, this track is hawtness. Awesome work by you and Bunnyman.

  5. Please stop speculating. v6 will be out when it's out. Also please stop answering questions in this thread.

I actually meant to bring this up in the other thread but yes, if someone is asking the staff a question and it isn't immediately stated material that can be copy/pasted from the site itself or wiki, let the staff answer it. So regardless of thread, please do not answer questions on behalf of staff.

  6. judging by his wording, i'd say yes

i'm guessing that anyone who is involved has to sign the thing once

so if there's a group, every single person who is in that group signs it. if someone in that group has a solo song on the same album (as is your case), then your signature for the solo song covers your involvement in the group. anyone who is in a group on the album but not on a solo song has to sign it.

    so yes

    Not really.

If you can get all the members to sign it, fine, that's what we prefer. However, if you're acting on behalf of a group and some members are unavailable, you can sign for them. We only do this on a case-by-case basis though, so try your best to get them to sign.

  7. Oh hello. I made this remix of the vocal song DREAMS DREAMS from the Sega Saturn version of NiGHTS because I thought it was touching and nice for the lovey love love day that is today. Even if you don't have a special someone today, this song will might make you feel loved. or maybe it wont. I'm not sure.

I bought the original track and the Instrumental mix from iTunes to make this tune. I had hoped I could just inverse the phase of the instrumental to isolate the vocals, but they are totally different mixes, so I had to get creative.

Hope you enjoy this song and have a happy day.

As a 27 year old man that's had an obsession with the Purple Jester for over 15 years, I thank you for this.

  8. horses of the night? Is that like equine prostitutes?

    Something like that....

Actually, the name comes from one of our Fanfic readings. In Brewdening Love, the following line was read:

    "

As I slept I had a Nighthorse about james."

There are so many amazing references in this fanfic and this one stuck out. It would either be a good name for a media group, or a metal band. You guess which one we went with.

  9. Yo bros. You all remember OCAD, right? Well this is like OCAD....AFTER OCAD! Nighthorse Media.

So we have a bunch of shows we're doing, most are youtube but some are audio only. Right now we have the first episode of No Skill Gaming, featuring Brushfire and myself, uploaded. I'm currently uploading our first First Achievement Review, and there's a whole metric fuckton of material coming down the pipe.

Oh, and we're continuing our drunken fanfic readings on Nighthorse so there's always that.

  10. Pick up a 360 Controller as the game has problems with Logitechs and Playstation controllers with out a 360 controller emulator.

True story, however I prefer the Wii Classic Pro controllers via usb interface to the 360 controller. If you can't get ahold of a 360 controller, just get x360ce on the internet and configure your device that way.

  11. Awww, it's one of my favourites :P

The Billy Hatcher stage is the one I hate. Those turns at the end just after the boat section, they are just.... aghh.

Yeah, I hate this AND the burning rangers stage. The turns after the boat section in billy hacter are manageable if you don't care about retaining speed and can do the drift without accelerating.

Also fuck yeah this game is amazing.
