Get drunk tonight and watch Time of the Apes.

Five weeks until the FULLWIP deadline! I'll be getting to any WIPs submitted for feedback that I missed early this evening. Hope you all are keeping up the awesome work!
Okay, I'll take 09 - March on the Haunts of the Wicked and will get to work on it ASAP.Done!
-
3 things.
1) lol Lickstarter
2) If you're on the project, won't you already get a physical copy? I thought that's how it worked. I mean, in the past I'm pretty sure artists on albums got the limited-run physicals of those albums for being on those albums, right?
3) My personal opinion is that your posts seem to worry people, so mebbe you should stop inadvertently contributing to the panic? As several staff have said, they're looking into it. Just because it's cancelled now doesn't mean it's cancelled for good. Wait until we get official word before posting things like this. Just my two cents though.
Its always up to the direct if a physical run will happen, and if it does who gets one and who doesn't. Right now its not even something to discuss until this gets hammered out.

Now that the sales are over, I feel a breath of relief coming.
And yet, I feel empty. As though I should have spent more money but I didn't. I got some games but...what about the games I left behind?
STEAM, WHY YOU TOY WITH MY EMOTIONS
-
Well I finally got a response from Lickstarter about mt pledge. They said their policy is to not comment on cancelled projects and that the pledge was cancelled and I wouldn't be charged, so I guess that's it concerning the kickstarter. From the bottom of my heart that sucks and I'm sorry that happened. I really wanted ff6 album with my songs in it.
Sent from my phone.
We are still looking into it, Brandon. Regardless of what they said.
-
This is the greatest A1 joke in the history of OCR, if not the entire Internet. Oops the mods are coming to delete this post because I'm spoiling the joke for everyone else and
your sig makes me think of this. think of it deeply.
-
We are aware of the kickstarter issue and are currently looking into it.
-
Looks like the Kickstarter for getting Larry a Porsch- er, I mean the FF6 album, is coming along nicely. Thank you, everyone, for your support so far!
I get the feeling he's more of a Porsche guy than a Ferrari guy.

I'm behind this in every way. Also, if you want AAA games, just get something like Gametap or Onlive on there and BAM, AAA development.
As I talked about on OCAD previously, the future of gaming and the deprecation of the traditional idea of consoles is kind of embodied in this device. At least the first steps of it are, anyway.
It encourages people to work with a platform that's not meant to wring every single cent from developers and consumers. It seems like a pretty even trade to be able to develop for it for free, and sell it for free and then OUYA takes something like 30% from all in-game sales. Seems VERY fair to me if they end up offering a community service similar to the features of steam (chat, multiplayer, etc.).
It is getting people to work with limited hardware, which I believe spurs creativity similarly to how hardware restrictions in the early console ages did the same thing. Integrating streaming video and the like and you have a on-the-cheap all in one box that, with the right titles and support, can really change how people approach a system's features and lifecycle.
Current gen hardware is being stretched for as long as possible because the amount of time, money, and effort spent in R&D for them was astronomical. This was to the point that they're inventing peripherals in order to superficially extend the lifespan and relevance of the systems beyond what has been experienced in the past. Hardware is getting harder and harder to create in order to rationalize that jump to another system (unless you're nintendo, that does the gimmicks at the forefront and stays generally behind in the hardware power race). It's also very expensive. Even compensating for inflation, this is still on average the most expensive gaming generation so far. How expensive will it be to make an even more powerful machine (that isn't just high end PC hardware) and ship it to possibly be tepidly received, and take massive hits at the system level with hopeful compensation in game sales to offset the cost?
It makes increasingly more sense, both logically and financially, to focus on the backend processing and utilizing high-speed connections to deliver content on devices that are much simpler, and basically act as a VNC to a gaming system. This was the game companies can a) utilize hardware upgrades more efficiently, and without a shipping cost control the purchasing and re-selling of digital games and DLC and c) control system access all around. The OUYA box could foster a service like that, while also giving the indie and casual crowd something to work with.
Call me overly optimistic, but I'm really excited about this. I backed it right after the first 1000 sold out, and I'm very excited to get it, play on it, and potentially make a game on it.

Yes shaggy, listen and grab one.
The rest of you KEEP THEM WIPS COMING!

isnt joshw.info basically mirroring all of the old HCS64 chiptunes folders? like 2sf.joshw.info? Those are the most complete ones out there, but I totally forgot what the genesis one is called.

Before I stop neglecting the MAGFest 2012 thread OP, I'm making a catch-all thread for listing available chiptunes playing software. There's a lot out there that people don't know about, so this may come in quite handy for lots of people:
PC:
Chipamp - A plugin bundle for use with Winamp, maintained right here on OCR! Free.
Plays: 2SF, AY, DSF, GBS, GSF, HES, KSS, MDX, NSF, NSFE, PSF, PSF2, RSN, S98, SAP, SC68, SID, SPC, SSF, USF, VGM, WSR, YM, Streams (Many)
Foobar2000 - A highly-customizable music player that has a ton of plugin support for numerous game sound formats. Those that don't have official support can usually be found via google search for plugins. Extremely useful feature: batch file format conversion (eg. SPC -> MP3 (VBR)) complete with MP3 batch tagging and filename formatting. Free.
Plays: ADPCM (ADX, ADP, DSP), Adlib, MOD/MDZ, S3M/S3Z, STM/STZ, IT/ITZ, XM/XMZ, PTM/PTZ, MTM/MTZ, 669, PSM, UMX, AM/J2B, DSM, AMF, OKT/OKTA, MO3, AY, GBS, GYM, HES, KSS, NSF, SAP, SGC, SPC, VGM, HVL, AHX, MID (supports soundfont mapping), RMI, PSF, QSF, SID, MUS, MDAT, USF, YM. Unoffocial support for 2SF, SSF, DSF, XA, etc.
Edit:
for foobar2000, make sure to just grab all of these pluginsPC/OS X/Linux:
Audio Overload - While it hasn't been updated in a while, this is the go-to player for people running either OS X or Linux. The interface is much more basic, and it's strangely missing some basic features (like volume control IIRC). However, it still supports a large number of formats and can export to WAV. Free.
Plays: AHX, AY, COP, DSF, GBS, GSF, GYM, HES, HVL, IMF, various Apogee games, KSS, MDX, MOD, NSF, NSFE, ORC, PSF, PSF2, QSF, RAW, ROL, S3M, S98, SAP, SCI, SNDH, SPC, SPU, SSF, VGM, VTX, WSR, YM.
iOS:
Modizer - Mmm...This is delicious. Anyone who has an iOS device and wants to listen to video game music should absolutely get this application. Currently set at $2 in the appstore, it supports a ton of file formats. Killer feature: you can search and download songs and files from Modland and HVSC. Also can FTP files over. Source code for used libs available on the website.
Plays: Over 400 formats, apparently.
SIDPlayer - Dedicated SID Player. Has a built-in HVSC downloader. $2
Plays: SID stuff.
Android:
Droidsound - Not as many formats supported as Modizer, but still a damn solid application. Just updated to support GSF, PSF, and RSN. It can read zips so its a huge space saver when it comes to listening to lots of VGM. Also its free! Available on website or in Play store (Play store is most up-to-date at this time)
Plays: MOD, SID, XM, SNDH, S3M, IT, NSF, VGM, VGZ, SPC, GBS, PSF, GSF, YM, etc. (they don't list them all but there's way more than just this)
Rockbox - In-Progress port of the features that Rockbox firmwares offer. Free.
Plays: See Rockbox below.
MODo - Decent and competent basic chiptunes player. Free.
Plays: MOD, XM, IT, S3M, MEG, SID, MUS, GBS, NSF, NSFE, SPC, GYM, VGZ, VGM, SAP, AY, YM.
Older iPods (5.5gen and below), various other MP3 players:
Rockbox - One of the few options for people who have dedicated MP3 hardware that isn't based on smartphone technology, Rockbox is a firmware replacement that opens up a large listing of devices to a host of new features. It really depends on the hardware itself, but Rockbox supports a few standard chiptunes formats along with FLAC and OGG. Free.
Plays: SID, MOD, NSF, NSFE, SPC, MIDI, GBS (patch), HES (patch), SAP.

This is dumb.
Its part of the NiGHTS game world. NiGHTS and Reala can, effectively, change their form to various other things. As such, they're transforming themselves into the vehicles they are using in the Transformed.
I guess you could argue the original design concept is dumb, but I'd also disagree with you there.
-
Getting it today.
-
They made it sound like an enhanced version of the PS2 port, which was extremely competent and well made. It's not likely that they will screw this up. Any remake release is welcome because the original game hasnt been available for sale outside of japan for 15 freaking years.
-
I came. So many times, I came.
Here's the essential info:
Release date: Fall 2012
Platforms: XBLA, PSN, Windows Digital Download
Perks: . This new version will bring Nightopia to vivid life with improved HD graphics and a 16:9 aspect ratio, as well as added support for leaderboards, trophies, and achievements. It will also feature an optional Saturn Mode that will let players experience the game with the original graphics intact.
So it sounds like a port of the PS2 version, with possible hi res textures and support for online achievments and stat tracking.
Obviously, I am very VERY excited.

This WIP was made using Kick Ass Brass for the horn players. The people listed ARE the brass performers and have gotten all their parts in already. That was actually months ago, but since PrototypeRaptor is the one doing the final mix and master, it may be a while (if this ever gets finished, which I hope it does but its not impossible for it to end up that way).
PrototypeRaptor, who was our Trombone player and one of the lead brass arrangers when the Muffins were in their first stint of activity, has recently begun making it very big in the electronic circuit. If you follow him on facebook or twitter, you can find that out for yourself. His stuff is awesome, but since he is so busy, we don't know when he will get around to finishing this mix. Feel free to remind him on twitter or facebook that you're interested in getting the final product, I'm sure it couldn't hurt.
We've amicably parted ways with him as being part of the Muffins for now. He understood completely and we have some new members and new people trying out for various parts. The team is basically in-flux depending on availability, but we have not stopped being a group. We have stuff we're working on now, slowly but surely (my fault since I've been dragging my feet on the core arrangements), so even if some the faces are different, the Muffins will live on.
And who knows, maybe one day we'll have PR back on to do some cameo work. He is, after all, an awesome dude.
The whole Extra Credits thing brought a lot of attention to this track, which is very motivating and the feedback has been awesome. To everyone who also PMd me about stuff, I'll get back to you shortly when I can.
Rock on, folks!

Another necro bump!
Selling one AT&T Android phone and one AT&T Apple phone. If these don't get picked up on here in two-ish weeks, I'll take them to craigsebay.
Samsung Captivate (Galaxy S i897) - This little bugger has been rock solid since I got it. I used it mostly for storing movies and music since I got my Atrix 4g but I'm looking to upgrade shortly and demote my Atrix to that role. That's the only reason I'm selling it. No scratches on the phone except a small 2mm crack near the headphone jack and a barely visible one on the camera lens. Comes with box, battery, charger cable, instructions, Otterbox rubber case and is already root'd & rom'd with a flavor of ICS on there. 16gb internal, no SD card included. Asking $150 for it plus shipping since it's already been customized.
Apple iPhone 3g 16gb - I kept this around as a backup phone for a while but all its been doing is sitting collecting dust for the last 2 months, so I'm not even using it for modizer anymore. Phone is in excellent condition with no screen or case issues. Slight wear and tear may be present on the underside of the phone but there are no major scratches or dents anywhere. It is on 4.2.1 and has been activated and jailbroken. Phone only. Asking $125 for it plus shipping.
All phones will be wiped of data so they're fresh for your grubby little hands! If you want pictures of any of the phones, please ask and I will deliver. These phones are all great, I just don't need them anymore.
Edit: The Inspire 4g is apparently still getting random reboots so I wouldn't feel right selling it to anyone at this point. Still selling the cappy and the 3g.

Alrighty then, time for some info to share with ya. You might already know this in the E3 topic, but if you haven’t yet I can reveal…
- They released
- Joe Musashi from the Shinobi series will be in it
- Shadow the Hedgehog will return
- And finally, NASCAR driver Danica Patrick will appear as special guest exclusive
That’s it for now. If there’s anymore info on the game, I’ll let you know…
If Danica fricking Patrick is in this there is absolutely no reason NiGHTS should not be a playable character. No excuse in the world.
- They released

holy shit guys, I'm alive and have lots to update!
Ok, so I'm super sorry about my apparent unavailability for the last two months. I did not plan on real life getting in the way as much as it did. That being said, this project is still on and there is a new deadline. The Original Post has been completely reworked to be as comprehensive, cohesive, and organized as possible so you can either head on over here to check it for yourself, or just read on to get the skinny.
There are new deadlines and a new final deadline. The new FINAL deadline is December 15th, 2012. There are three intermediary deadlines, the next one being June 18th, which is next Monday.
All WIPs should be emailed to both me and Leif at our email addresses as outline in the original post. I will inform him and all of you if another spell of unavailability comes up for me but for now consider that this is being co-directed so keep us both in the loop for both style and production critiques.
Again, I'm really sorry to have dropped the ball but this has been picked right back up again and I will do my best to not have it slip again.
FORWARD! TO VICTORY!

Moved for ya. Next time ask a moderator to move it instead of posting a thread twice.
