Like, you hear this all the time "yeah OCR has almost everything, but they NEVER post techno shit. I want more OCR techno shit." So I thought "hey why not make some good techno shit for OCR?" Ahem. Yeah. This is way out of my comfort zone, but it's been really really fun to make. Once again, big thanks to the WIP boards. And BIG BIG thanks to WillRock, he helped me tons with making this sound right. Anyway, I hope you like my "techno shit" I think I've got lots of original stuff in there, but here's a quick source breakdown so you know which part comes from which source: 0:00-0:27 original intro 0:27-2:00 is from Medieval Jam 2:00-3:16 is from Koopa's Road 3:16-4:29 is from Medieval Jam 4:29-END is from Koopa's Road Thanks again for your time and energy! Hey! Here's a remix of the Sonic 3 credits song that I've been working on for a while. I've titled it "What We Left Behind". Here's the requested info: Contact Information Aviators Tyler Shaw http://soundoftheaviators.com/ 45323 Submission Information Sonic The Hedgehog 3 What We Left Behind Credits Original Song: My favorite Sonic game has been and always will be Sonic 3. When I recently got back into game remixing, it was a clear choice which game to choose. The credits song was so memorable, with its bittersweet melody summing up the entire game as names rolled across the screen... I gave my best shot at doing the original justice with modern electronica elements, combined with orchestral melodies and all kinds of fun stuff.

-CONTACT INFORMATIONS- ReMixer name: djJM Real name: Giordano De Biase E-mail address: or UserID: 48726 -SUBMISSION INFORMATIONS- Name of game: Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest Name of arrangement: YAY, MINES!! Name of arranged song: Kannon's Klaim (Mining Melancholy) Comments about the mix: After trying a lot, making various versions of this song, I finally did it remixing this fantastic piece of music. The original arrangement said: "Hey, I'm the song that wants to be remixed!!", so I decided (a year ago) to start making a rearrangement of this song, but there were always failed attempts. Finally it comes this mix... I feel accomplished now, I feel happy! The main message I want to give is the pure energy that your heart will show when you don't know what to do in hard situations: the real theme is kinda sad, but I wanted to give an happy and fast tone, to say that hope will never die. Contact Information User: Lashmush Name: Rasmus Sorber Site: http://lashmush.newgrounds.com User ID: 27698 Submission Information Game(s) arranged: Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island Name of arrangement: Bowzilla Name of individual song(s) arranged: "Big Boss BGM" and "Koopa (Final Boss BGM)" Comments: I've long wanted to do the final boss theme from Yoshi's Island but never managed to capture it properly but now that I've learned to use VST guitars and more importantly gotten comfortable with the keyswitch mechanism thats common in the more comprehensive virtual instruments, I felt I could really give this the power and wild attitude that it deserves. With the recent news of the new Godzilla project from Legendary pictures (proper TOHO Godzilla!), I started playing with the idea of a Godzilla spin to the project and combined some elements from the Big Boss BGM track to give it that dramatic and big feel. I've worked on my mixing a lot since my last submission (Light's Out) and hopefully you will see the effort I've put in. Your feedback helped a lot last time around so it will be good to see how I've done since then ----------------

I do not have access to the project file at this time as my USB drives are packed until next year. I waited a while before submitting this because I did get a bit discouraged when two other arrangements were previously turned down. A strong positive reaction from various places online made me decide to submit this and give it a shot again. It was made in LMMS (Linux MultiMedia Studio), within a week of having a chance to play the original Metal Gear game on the MSX2. ------------

greetings Game: Silent Hill 4: The Room (PS2) Composer: Akira Yamaoka, Mary Elizabeth McGlynn Source: Room of Angel Title: Weeping Angel I made this doom metal for VikingGuitar's Danse Macabre compilation album. (http://vikingguitar.bandcamp.com/album/viking-guitar-productions-presents-danse-macabre) The MP3 I linked is the ideal version not adjusted for volume to fit along with other songs. The last time I made doom metal was my Heavy Rain mix called From Mars. Like that song, this one is also influenced by My Dying Bride. Weeping Angel is a lot more traditional due to having vocals and sporting a couple traditional-sounding doom riffs. This is doom metal done my way, so it is still more accessible than usual. There is an emotion you can express with doom metal that is not present in most genres of music. I love the sound I was able to get with the guitar, in particular the awesomely heavy riff at 3:43 during the chorus which has echo on the rhythms. The solo at 4:51 has some really liquid whammy bar bending and I love that sound. Really a big fan of doom metal but I tend to not listen to it so much anymore, it's too sad. FAR TOO SAD! But there's always times when the mood strikes. Probably the most least common genre on OC ReMix, people of the world need to become familiar with it!

Hi, this is my first try for a submission, so sorry in advance if something formal went wrong. (doh! already misspelled the mail address...) I'll just answer the questions from the site: REMIX: (file download is enabled) - Your ReMixer name: COLTH - Your real name: Sven Puth - Your email address - Your website: only a soundcloud account - http://soundcloud.com/colth - Your userid (number, not name) on our forums, found by viewing your forum profile: 47799 Submission Information - Name of game(s) arranged: Raptor: Call of the Shadows - Name of arrangement: Back to Bravo Sector - Name of individual song(s) arranged: I'm not really sure, probably "Bravo Sector One" - Additional information about game including composer, system, etc. (if it has not yet been added to the site): Found Raptor in your database already - Link to the original soundtrack (if it is not one of the sound archives already available on the site): Only found a youtube video for the song - - Your own comments about the mix, for example the inspiration behind it, how it was made, etc. After a long time of messing around with FL Studio and creating my own tracks I wanted to give it a shot and try to make a video game remix since ocremix actually made me want to make music (again). I used to write simple MIDI Songs as a kid and had a break over years afterwards. I had to pick a song but couldn't decide. I wanted something not too common but a game many people knew. I listend to an old tape of old dos game music I recorded from my old computer and I chose Raptor. Loved the music. Guess it doesn't need any other reason. The style is very much my own, I love chiptunish music and try to mix it with popular elements but I know I still got a long long way to go if I wanna try to catch up with my heroes on ocremix.

Greetings! This is my take on the M Bison theme from Street Fighter II. It started as a submission for PRC 172 in 2010, which unfortunately had no other submissions. By listening to it a while after I realized it had potential. It's an upbeat trance remix with a focus on the main melody of the source. Big thanks goes to the former organizers and the present organizer Bundeslang and all remixers who keep PRC going, you've had a great impact on my musical development! Source: /OneUp

Remixer name: Jimmy & Bimmy Website: http://jimmybimmy.bandcamp.com/ Name of game arranged: Plok Name of arrangement: Palettes of Acrylic Name of arranged song: Akrillic Original soundtrack: About this remix: I've always loved the music of Plok. While the game is fun, the music is what really set it apart to me. I honestly believe it's one of the best soundtracks in the SNES library. It's eclectic and very original and the arrangements have a story-telling aspect to them. There is nothing like it out there as far as I know. While for Plok we did our own versions of both "Beach" and "Akrillic", we felt strongest about the latter one. They are both excellent but I remember lying in my room as a child and pausing the game just to be able to listen to the song over and over. That was 18 years ago . After some research on the interwebs, we realized that there aren't many true full-fledged remixes of Plok out there. There is a cool remix of the title theme on OCRemix and some arrangements on YouTube, but that's about it. We've been wanting to do remixes for this game for over 5 years now. Finally, we've gotten around to it. To us, Akrillic combines classic 70's prog rock elements, odd time signatures and more Doors type of stuff with its mesmerizing organs and long solos. We stayed pretty true to the original arrangement but added some orchestration and acoustic/e-guitars. For the drums, we kept the original beat for the most part but made it sound more organic and generally beefed things up a bit. I can see how people might not want to get themselves lost in a Plok remix, as some of the songs can feel rather intimidating for a remix job at first. That's how we felt at the start anyways. Ultimately, it was completely worth the journey and a fantastic experience all in all!

DragonAvenger replied to DragonAvenger's topic in General Discussion
Aha, gotcha! The limited design is what I sell on my Etsy shop, the original design can be bought here: Store link! I can print the limited logo on most types of shirts, as long as I can get my hands on it. We have a girl's shirt logo that you can see here: Girl's Shirt. I can easily print the limited design onto that type of shirt if you wanted. I've also printed on hoodies and zip-up sweatshirts. -
RESUB 1 decision Original decision Ok, so, after it was rejected twice, I decided to just rebuild the entire song from the ground up. New sounds, new mixing, same basic structure. So here is my next submission attempt of Ninja Ganon. Lots of the mixing, mastering, and composition techniques are thanks to zircon's excellent FL tutorials on his website. Just watching those has given me a huge step up in quality of my tracks. Remixer Name: Darangen Real Name: Michael Boyd Email: Website: www.darangen.com UserID: 8948 URL to Remix: Game: Chrono Trigger Songs: Undersea Palace Schala’s theme Original Soundtracks: Previous Judgement thread: http://ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=39405 I thought I had lost this with a computer crash after an obviously incompetent computer repairman told me it was irretrievable. Luckily I had a few friends who were able to guide me through restoring most of it. I still had to redo some things but most of it was salvaged well enough. Anyway, here was my original write-up: "Oh noes, a Schala mix! There’s a reason everyone remixes Schala though. I was listening to Chrono Symphonic at work one day and Rellik’s “Beneath The Surface” came up. That got me thinking about the undersea palace theme and through various other tracks with Schala’s theme, I eventually started molding them together in my head. Then this track was born. It’s working title was Killer Studio Chops. It’s somewhat symphonic heavy metal. Schala’s theme has been converted to 3/4, and the section in the intro is in 11/8. I tried swapping between 3/4 and 4/4 for the two sources, but it just wasn’t gelling like I wanted it to. I’m happy with the result though. As always, hope you enjoy it as much as I did creating it." I've taken this to the WiP Forum and I'm confident that I've addressed many, if not all, of the issues the judges previously brought up. Some of the adjustments I've made include adjusting eq and compression to clear out as much of the mud I could, updating the string samples to East West, updating the drum samples as well, adjusting levels so that the theme is always easy to hear and playing around with some filters for some interesting effects. I had a lot of fun coming back to this song on new software (Upgraded from Sonar X1 to Sonar X2) and my new KRK Rokit 5 monitors. Yay for Black Friday deals!

Contact Info ReMixer Name: The Joker Real Name: David L. Puga Email: davidlpuga (at) gmail.com Website: facebook.com/dlpmusic Submission Info Game Title: Sonic 3 & Knuckles ReMix Title: Ice Advisory Source Title: Ice Cap Zone Original Link: ReMix Link: Comments: So I've finally got around to remixing this song. Been wanting to do it for a long time, it's one of those tracks that everyone ha to remix at least once. I'd never gotten around to getting the right sound to justify adding another remix to this song, so I kinda gave up after a while. Also never made a track in the Timblaland/Danja style; always wanted to do at least one track like that, & I thought I'd try to kill 2 birds with one stone. I was making this with a vocalist in mind, but haven't been able to fond someone to do it, & I didn't want to wait around until I did. I think it can stand on it's own as just an instrumental so I'm subbing as is. I would break down what is what & where in the remix, but I'm pretty sure it's really upfront unlike my Dedede mix. It's winter themed, also it's hip hop & the Parental Advisory sticker tends to be synonymous with hip hop tracks, hence the title. Hope you guys like it!

Your ReMixer name: Magellanic Your real name: Liam Charalambous Your userid: 45748 Name of game(s) arranged: Choujin Sentai Jetman Name of arrangement: Itsutsu no Chikara Name of individual song(s) arranged: Area A Composer: Hiroyuki Iwatsuki Source: This is a remix that was originally done at the beginning of the year. It was completed and then I never submitted because I just didn't think it met the standards for the panel. Arrangement-wise, it probably still doesn't but I've given it some love with some improved production, new drum parts and new guitar performances. Choujin Sentai Jetman has a fantastic soundtrack and the game is actually amazing. Very addictive and good fun. More people need to try this game out, though it is understandable that they haven't as it was only released on the Famicom. The source music is very energetic and uses the NES/Famicom soundchip really well. Though the arrangement is conservative, I really tried to give it my mark with the perfomances, structure and harmonies. Its in the lovely key of Bb Minor....or something. The choice of key came about from wanting to keep the guitar within a certain register where it sounded meaty, without being muddy. Hope you enjoy and look forward to your feedback!
