  1. Man, St. Anger was a disappointment. I don't think Metallica will ever go back to the greatness they once were. Also, the whole "anger is more useful" quote is a reference to the T3 movie, when Arnold knocks some sense (forcefully) on Connor, who is acting all emo.
  2. It's better to be angry. Anger is more useful.
  3. I think the whole overlaying maps should be loosely interpreted, not literal like many people are doing: example: OMGZ! Kakariko Village in TP is 2.5 degrees off of the coordinates of OOT! Some cataclysmic event moved it. The above is an exaggeration of what people say, of course. But seriously, I think Miyamoto places the villages and other important locations roughly where they ought to be, not spot on. If he did, then every Zelda game would, by necessity, have to be the same dimensions map-wise every single time, and that, well, gets old. If the games are to grow, so are the maps. The slightly off placements of certain locations (or altogether different locations) are placed there not to confuse the timeline or because of cataclysmic events or whatnot, but simply, to expand the world that us, as gamers, can navigate. At most, I'd say each game produced reveals to us more of what the world of Hyrule really IS, rather than story-driven changes. Each following game produced reveals features and details that were not doable before because of tech limitations. Simply put, the world of Hyrule is expanding because technology allows Miyamoto to do that, and every time that happens he "paints" us a better picture of what he imagines Hyrule to be.
  4. I'm also having trouble with that. It keeps resetting to alphabetical for me, won't stay chronological. grrr!
  5. I didn't see it before and I found out why: the tabs for viewing threads were set to one day or something, and at alphabetical order at that, hence the thread seemed to have disappeared. if you guys have trouble seeing threads, check your settings. Thanks for the help on that, Baha.
  6. ...I want to know if the Incredible Internet Videos got put on hold for the Off-Topic forum. A simple yes or no will do. Also, I'd like to know if it got archived, or if it will have to be started from scratch. Thank you.
  7. It's one of those cases were, since they are well-known, they aren't as cool anymore as when they were just being discovered. :rolls eyes:
  8. I just came to this thread again to see shpladoink's sig.
  9. Well, I didn't know those pics had been posted in this forum. Even more, that they were kept and not removed. If the whole issue is hostility when certain unmodders posted pics or fanfic of her (I'd personally never go that far), why aren't those pics considered hostile? The intention of them is quite clear despite the "sorry guys, all in good fun" disclaimer. Such disclaimer would never work in favor of unmod's case. Bah. Whatever. This is pointless. I will just check for remixes, and maybe, maaaaaaaybe check off topic, depending on who stays.
  10. I remember listening to them when they had just released "Fallen," which was during the time they were labeled as being christian. They rose to fame really quick during that period, and when they began to be played on mainstream radio, things really picked up. Alas, as is with all rock bands that make it into mainstream radio stations, they are overplayed, so people get tired and say "they are alright at best." I honestly think they are really good.
  11. The main problem here is that many of those who were "best of unmod", as you put it, and who "generated interest in unmod" have been driven away. And suddenly at that. Imagine you have a pretty kick-ass party going on and then suddenly throw everybody out because a handful of people simply piss you off. The night is young, so those who want to continue partying organize their own party. But then you open your doors again that night and start calling people up to come to your party. You can't really expect all those who left to come back. There's another party going on elsewhere already. At best, there will be two parties. Some will return, others will drive back and forth, and some will always stay at that other one. I really think there are situations in life that are beyond repair, and this is one of those. People from both sides just went overboard. But as I said, there is no way to make amends. Off-topic will start something new, but not like the "best of unmod" in my opinion. .org won't be the "best of" either. Just two parties going on at the same time.
  12. found the following, haven't tried any though: http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Best/free-swf-files.html particularly this one: http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Multimedia_and_Graphics/Misc__Graphics_Tools/Swf_Avi_Convert____Free_Converter___.html alternate download: http://www.soft32.com/download_77739.html
  13. It is a strange thing to see someone die. All sorts of thoughts go through your head. It's weird. And yes, I mean literally be next to someone on their deathbed, on their last minutes of life because of cancer... weird weird weird.
  14. You must MUST MUST MUST get this game! That's as ol' school badass as it gets, my friends!
  15. Yeah, I missed that part. Sorry. Built-in wireless in the MOBO. First time I hear of that. I've heard of built-in firewalls, like the one used with the nVidia NF4 chipset, but never what you have mentioned.
  16. Make sure your settings are set to wireless g and not wireless b, just in case.
  17. I don't know, this might sound a bit far-fetched but... ... if your wireless network was insecure, someone could, theoretically, log on to the router's ip address and make administrator changes, such as password, network ISSD, etc etc. If such was the case, the only thing to get your router back would be to press a tiny reset button that is usually placed at the back of your router (all routers have one). After this, then log on to the router's ip address, make the necessary changes to make it secure, and that's it! Setting up a wireless network sounds daunting if you've never done it before, but it's really quite simple. So simple, a caveman can do it. EDIT: If someone actually logged on to your router and did what I said, well, frankly, I think it's funny. Hahaha! Sorry.
  18. Well, yes, but the price range is pretty high on those. Also, the AKG K701 is good at that $500-$600 price range, and is a suitable competitor to the RS1. If you happen to like the Grado sound but want more neutrality (Grado's aren't neutral, they tend to be bright cans, well, anything below the SR325 models, at least), I suggest to get Alessandro Music Series headphones: http://www.alessandro-products.com/headphones.html I own the MS1 and, at $99, they are a very good deal. They are pretty much modified a Grado SR125, and sound very pleasant, can handle all genres nicely, and best of all, sound great without a dedicated headphone amp due to the low ohms (32ohms), though they do benefit more with a decent amp. The SR125 are brighter and just cost more than the MS1, so I'd just go for the MS1 (keep in mind that most people get hooked in the Grado lineup with the SR60 or SR80, which are Grado's entry level cans, so the SR125 is higher up in the chain). I highly recommend these, especially if you are outside the US and want to try the Grado-ish sound (Grado prices outside the US are just too high). As far as them being "open," well, they do leak a lot, but if you're in a quiet room, it isn't a problem. Also, it lets you hear any outside noise, or if someone happens to call for you, you won't be totally oblivious to them calling out your name, so I like that. However, for commuting on bus and the like, ANY open can, no matter how expensive, just cannot drown out the noise enough for you to enjoy the music, which means you will most likely pump up the volume to compensate for this and feed your ear dangerous volume levels of music.
  19. Have there ever been OCR polo shirts? I'd be interested in one of those. Like this one here (this is from another music community I found like three days ago. It's geared more towards hi-fi personal gear as opposed to music itself): http://www.cafepress.com/head-fi The slugger one is nice too. Some of the ladies' stuff is nice, but I don't know if we have enough lady members to warrant making those. Just some ideas that I think would be nice to consider... not trying to promote another community or anything, simply trying to show some possible apparel options.
