  1. Little late on the whole "stop watch" thing, but I'd have to go against the general thought of "stops everyone/everything but the player who gets it (and procedes to thrash the other players)." If I'm not mistaken, there has been no item in the history of smash that is unavoidable. Even with starman the player has to actually make contact with the opponent, and it's not THAT hard to dodge and run if you're the one without starman. Even the "almighty" hammer has a variety of weak points that I think most every character can exploit if they're good enough. Point is, having a sort of "god" item like that seems unlikely to me, ESPECIALLY in that it completely stops the action, which is counter-intuitive in the smash bros realm, I think. Anyway, just my two cents. Also.... JAPAN TIME FOR BRAWL
  2. Plus, having Sonic as one of the 3rd party characters WAS an obvious choice...anyone could have called that one with confidence, and in fact, plenty of people here and elsewhere DID. It's like calling Bowser as the final boss to Mario Galaxy; it might NOT happen, but it more than likely WILL happen.
  3. Agreed. friendlyHunter is the most entertaining poster by far in this thread on a consistent basis. Kudos to you, FH, and thanks for making this topic fun to read through all these hundreds of pages.
  4. For those who have recieved theirs, do you think these condoms/jackets are really necessary? Do you feel better having them? Even though they're free, I hesitate to get any simply because I don't think I'll like them...they look pretty bulky and cumbersome, not to mention silly.
  5. For those who haven't yet heard, Spore is now officially heading for the Wii. http://www.gamesarefun.com/news.php?newsid=8414
  6. I must be one of the very few who didn't like Midna OR wolf link....
  7. I've got the 3.60 firmware (it's what the system came with), so that's fine. And yeah, I'll take you up on that offer when I secure a fat psp, thanks I appreciate it.
  8. Yeah, that's what I had read previously before getting one myself, but in the end after looking for phats around town and online for good prices, I just settled on a slim anyway. At any rate, I think I should be able to find someone I know well enough to let me tamper with their system ....only after copious amounts of research before hand though..(of course)
  9. How much experience do you guys have with the psp slims? ..or is it pretty much the same as the phats? I just got a slim last week and am looking to get some emulation going on mine, although from what I've read on various forums is that to get ANYTHING started on the slim, I need to do the pandora battery, which apparently requires a psp phat... or at least a psp phat battery..? Any help would be appreciated, even just a link to somewhere else entirely for that matter.
  10. This man speaks the truth. If there are any other third party characters to be in Brawl, I'm thinking Sonic is probably the most likely, followed by Megaman. Edit: obligatory lulz
  11. Fairbanks, actually...too bad. I don't know many smashers from around here. Also, Jam Stunna, your sig makes me smile.
  12. Holy shit. Dreams DO come true. I wonder what kind of connection I'll be able to get with the rest of the USA up here in AK...... oh well. I'm just excited as shit right now. I think I may just stop watching the updates now that this has been officially announced. Hooollyyyy shiiiiiiit.
  13. I'm going to have to read through this whole entire thread a second time after I finish the game just to see what everyone's actually been talking about, what with all the spoiler posts.
  14. It's true. DKC2 expanded on the original in so many (better) ways that it makes the original much less appealing to go back to in general (although I do own it and enjoy it from time to time myself).
  15. Heh, I debated pre-ordering online, but that added wait was exactly what deterred me from that course...and thus I'll probably be standing in a short line at my local Gamestop come Tuesday or Wednesday or whenever the game finally makes its way to Alaska.........
  16. When you find the post, you should either paste it here or link from here to the discussion...it sounds interesting, and I for one would like to read it.
  17. I'm pretty sure the post in question is at NeoGAF...I just looked through the short discussion we had on MP2 and found nothing, and also don't remember a post like that being made...in fact the closest thing was a post of yours saying that you didn't like the navigation in the game...so yeah, check NeoGAF. ...consequently I just finished MP2 again myself. Bring on Prime 3!!
  18. I haven't played (or personally know anyone....I think....) Strikers on my console, but when RE4:Wii Edition came out a bunch of people started reporting problems with their wii's on the gamefaqs board. At first I thought it was just an issue with that game specifically, but further research showed that it had been going on for a while, but RE4 for one reason or another pushed a lot of systems over the hump to showing evidence of a messed up GPU (or whatever the problem really is). At any rate, to answer your question, I have played RE4 quite a bit on my own console with no issues so far, but not SM Strikers. I assume that some graphics just need more juice so to speak than others and so some games are more likely to be affected than others. Excellent. Great to know...as for me, I'm still going to keep wii connect 24 off (or just power the console down all the way) just to be safe, I suppose, as that's what's most often believed to be the main culprit.
  19. When I heard about this problem among wii users, I just stopped letting mine be in "standby" mode w/wii connect 24 (although I hadn't been experiencing issues prior to that either). From what I understand, not all wii's are susceptible, but I'm not taking any chances, especially if my VC games get deleted in the process of getting it fixed or replaced. I've heard that all you have to do is re-download them, but I'm not 100% sure. Let us fellow wii owners know if anything more develops...
  20. Heh, this sounds like an alternate moveset for link
  21. Heh, just beat him last night myself...although I never put him to sleep, I just power bounced him to oblivion and beat him without too much trouble. At any rate I think you're supposed to knock him over, and THEN put him to sleep.
  22. lmao, oohhhh lawd how have I not seen that before... That shit's awesome, you made my night, friendlyHunter.
  23. So is this like FZero GX kind of challenging (very difficult, but still very fun), or just impossibly challenging (skill becomes irrelevant because the comps "cheat," so to speak)...? ...but the multiplayer is awesome apparently. hmmmm... perhaps a rent-before-buy?
