  1. http://soundcloud.com/platonist/gkccuujnh2ty This is an ambient track I wrote for an old album that never got released (way way back in the day). Found it a while back and decided to polish it and put it on soundcloud. Feedback appreciated as always ^^ Thanks for listening /Jonas aka Platonist
  2. Hey guys, I decided to open up a new YouTube channel dedicated to songwriting in the pop/rock-esque genres. The first video is on a new song I'm working on called The Sordid City. This is a work-in-progress video meant for feedback and stuff so let me know what you think! the channel is located at: http://youtube.com/blacklakesongs (please subscribe if you want to hear more and/or be an active force in the development of my songwriting hehe) have reddit? vote me up on the Acoustic Originals subredit: http://www.reddit.com/r/AcousticOriginals/comments/1ufxka/the_sordid_city_new_song_that_im_working_on/ as I said, feedback is highly appreciated! cheers, Jonas/Platonist
  3. Thanks a lot, Red! I really appreciate it ^^ *bows humbly* Oh, and also, Happy New Year!
  4. In October last year I started posting chip tunes on my soundcloud regularly. This EP consists of 6 of those chip tunes, remastered & placed in a tracklist that is able to loop in on itself. You can also loop the individual tracks, as they are composed in a classic VGM style. 1. Air Floor 2. M4D R3SOLVE! 3. Shuffle On Icy Slopes 4. Zoe & The Forest 5. Wind Chime 6. Phase Castle http://platonist.bandcamp.com/ Be sure to check my newly launched bandcamp for .WAV & .FLAC versions (also free), which loop properly in most (?) media players. The file on Reunion contains the .MP3s, due to storage space limitations, and since .mp3s have a file header they PROBABLY won't loop properly. A huge thanks to Adam (theGarbs) for helping me with the master! / Jonas http://platonistmusic.com/reunion/ http://reunion.sgxmusic.com/rnep010_Platonist_Chip_Loop_1_EP_[2013].zip
  5. Hey guys, something different this time. started a new soundcloud for my singer-songwriter related stuff. I'll be uploading demos and stuff occasionally here: http://soundcloud.com/blacklakemusic first song uploaded is "Ivory Tower" a song I wrote, performed here with a Fender Telecaster + Zoom Box & a C1 microphone. enjoy and please follow me if you want more ^^
  6. 1.2 is looking great! I've so much fun after just one day! I'm biased though because I bought the game at 1.0.2 back in 2011. Best game ever, sorta
  7. Yeah, that's the major problem for me with Renoise, I am not used to the Fast Tracker interface (Impulse Tracker guy as you might know). I've tried to make a few tracks with Renoise, but it always turns into something minimal, like tech-house or the like, which... is not really my thing
  8. If I directed a live multi-track music video of a song for a band (including myself or otherwise) would that count as non-musical content?
  9. And the backwards reading has brought me back to the source. Wow, I wish I could contribute even if you met your goals already. But I'm completely and utterly broke and in debt and unemployed and lol, i should get to work... Best of luck!
  10. This is a welcomed topic. Reading it made me feel like an outsider compared to how I normally think about (or identify with) OCR. I guess I've always been the quiet person in these situations, even if I tend to make a lot of unwanted noise once I do open my mouth. I've been around for 7 years now, rarely interacting, just lurking week after week, month after month. (Here, I'll let BGC (who I think I've never talked to/chatted with ever) express my exact sentiment on why I think that is...) And I seem to have handled it the exact same way as you did, Jimmy. Avoiding it. I got off to a fairly bad start with some of you, and I think that scared me enough to make that innate silence permanent. It's really good to know that someone with 3000 posts can feel the same way. I've wanted to express this for a while, but found no way to do it until now. A heartfelt apology to the people who I've accidentally insulted or trampled on while unjustly trying to defend myself (being a hot-headed baka) is a first step for me. Taking that today - now. I'm Sorry. I don't know if anyone from back then reads this at all, but I'm throwing it out there anyway. I don't know if I'll manage to change and get more involved in the community somehow, but at least I'm determined to try. All that aside, congratulations on your success Jimmy! I'm insanely jealous!
  11. Cool! Old School trackers have their charm, can't live without them Which one's your favorite?
  12. Whoa! Eino!, long time no speak. Good to see you're still around! How's it hanging!?
  13. Very interesting! I'm one of those who can just sit and watch people talk for hours on youtube, in debates, hangouts and whatnot, so this was very welcomed! I (probably) won't be virtually jetlagged enough to catch them live in the future, but I'm most certainly gonna watch them afterwards.
  14. I'm not worth any praise! Haha, *blushes*. I don't really market my soundcloud though, so it's not strange that you haven't found it before.
  15. Ok, already went to your SC and listened to it there, so no damage done. Great mix! listened to some of your originals from there too. cool stuff indeed. keep it up
  16. Thanks! Cool beans, you can submit anything you want, we're always looking for good musics. I see you've been posted! I need to check your pokémon track and soundcloud asap
  17. http://platonistmusic.com/reunion http://facebook.com/reunionnetlabel http://twitter.com/reuniverse kaylynx (at) gmail (dot) com - for submissions (always appreciated) Hey guys, I haven't updated here in a while about what Reunion (my label) is up to these days. I think it's time to sum it up in a real community post this time. I'll update the thread with the latest releases etc when I find enough time. Today's our seventh birthday (YES September 19 2006!!!) and we have since, released over 200 singles, a few compilations and EPs, with the latter getting more and more focus as time goes by. This is a common trend I've seen in the netlabel scene over the years. It actually turned into a norm way before I even started Reunion. But, the whole idea of my label was to pay tribute to the olden days (in my case 1996-2000 ish), when I discovered the scene and everyone was releasing nothing but .IT & .XM singles all over the net. We keep moving forward. In may we had a huge psytrance release from the very popular Mantra Flow, and today we released the debut release of music researcher Sirens of Titan. So we're far from dead! Anyway, here's a list of what we've put up this year: RNEP010 - Platonist - Chip Loop 1 EP (NEW!) http://reunion.sgxmusic.com/rnep010_Platonist_Chip_Loop_1_EP_[2013].zip RNEP009 - Sirens Of Titan - Desolate EP http://reunion.sgxmusic.com/rnep009_Sirens_Of_Titan_Desolate_EP_[2013].zip RNEP008 - Mantra Flow - Witchcraft EP http://reunion.sgxmusic.com/rnep008_Mantra_Flow_Witchcraft_EP_[2013].zip RNS0204 - TRD - Resurrect http://reunion.sgxmusic.com/204%20-%20TRD%20-%20Resurrect.mp3 RNS0203 - SGX & Navi - Right Back Up (Hy Bound Mix) http://reunion.sgxmusic.com/203%20-%20SGX%20Feat.%20Navi%20-%20Right%20Back%20Up%20(Hy%20Bound%20Mix).mp3 RNS0202 - SGX & Navi - Right Back Up (SGX's Heavy DJ Remix) http://reunion.sgxmusic.com/202%20-%20SGX%20Feat.%20Navi%20-%20Right%20Back%20Up%20(SGX's%20Heavy%20DJ%20Remix).mp3 RNS0201 - Framestream - Psychic Resonance http://reunion.sgxmusic.com/201%20-%20Framestream%20-%20Psychic%20Resonance.mp3 RNS0200 - Blacklake - Planck Time (Instrumental Mix) http://reunion.sgxmusic.com/200%20-%20Blacklake%20-%20Planck%20Time%20(Instrumental%20Mix).mp3 RNS0199 - Platonist - Epsilon http://reunion.sgxmusic.com/199%20-%20Platonist%20-%20Epsilon.mp3 everything else is in this torrent: http://reunion.sgxmusic.com/ReunionNetlabel_2006-2012.torrent hopefully it's still alive, (please help seed if you can) I hope this will be at least somewhat helpful. I felt like I had to do something here after all the silence. Thanks for (if) listening! / Jonas aka Platonist
  18. This! is unbelievable... I'm completely speechless Jake, I've always loved your music, ever since I heard your old module files for the first time back in the day, but this is just incredible... Beyond awesome work!
  19. woop! this is going to be epic! but, i do feel a bit sorry for Hyadain. he was on the front page for 3 days. now it's full of releases that no-one will download separately and no one will listen to on youtube. XD Great policy you have there, bro. all facts aside, im very excited for this release
  20. Thanks guys, I thought about how to tackle this source for a long time, because it's so over-remixed It was important to me to manage to provide something new and unique. I don't know how well I succeeded, but I just had to remix this one, no matter how many times it had been done in the past. Love the source, one of the best VGM tracks ever made
  21. Found an older unreleased track from a drunken haze Decided to polish and remaster it a bit and subsequently uploaded it to soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/platonist/platonist-a-water-park Feedback appreciated! (albeit "redundant" for a 4 year old tune, hehe) Enjoy
  22. Hellow. I have a band. It's called Maudlin Dryad. We play music 'n stuff. Here's a short video of us rehearsing a new song. Let me know what you think, guys cheers, Plato
