Read the wikipedia article. They take place in the same world with the same mythology but separated by hundreds of years.

Oh please. It's just one weapon. I thought it was unfair as well, but I didn't make a big deal out of it. No really, I loved every part of this game except for one. Say you made Basch into a tank. Leveled him up to lvl 100, filling the entire license board. Now all of the sudden, all you need to do is change his weapons, armor, and gambits, and he is the absolute greatest mage that you can make in the game. I hear that the international version fixed that, but still. You don't need to work anything in order to specialize your character.

Wikipedia is your friend. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_fantasy_versus_xiii And contrary to the dumb names of XIII, Versus XIII actually gives us some really cool names. The main character being Noctis Lucis Caelum. How cool is that? "His full name, revealed at TGS 2008, is grammatically incorrect Latin for "Light of the Night Sky," and his nickname is Noct." And from what I understand, the two games are several hundred years apart, but have the same mythology. That's why I want to see some 'echos' of xiii in versus xiii like ruins, shrines, landscape, and the like. And they've been working on versus since 2003 originally for the ps2. But it wasn't powerful enough. Imagine the day when the ps3 isn't powerful enough for games... Edit: I thought the third xiii game was originally for the cell phone.

To tell you the truth, I've had my doubts about FFXIII ever since I found out that the director is the same guy as the one who did FFX-2 and FFXII-2 Wings (DS game) Then last year when they anounced the move to the 360, that really did it for me. Other people may think of it as a way for Square-enix to make more money, but to me, it just shows me their lack of faith in the game. Especially since the guy and girl main characters are named Lightning and Snow. I hope they get a better name than that. Regardless of how they play out, I'm still getting both of them. Though I think that Versus will be better. And I had better see some ruins of a XIII city in Versus XIII. Also, the big guy on versus looks exactly like Angeal.

http://www.gametrailers.com/player/44895.html Personally, I'm not that impressed. Here's the Final Fantasy Versus XIII trailer that came out a month ago if you haven't seen it yet. This game looks much better. http://www.gametrailers.com/player/43746.html And also, NO PS3/360 FANBOYISM ALLOWED

Final Fantasy IV: Echoes of Betrayal, Light of Redemption - History

I've killed that green dragon at least 40 times. He still hasn't given up his tail. -
Shinra: The height of evil. What more could you ask for?

Well, I've only played 1,2,4,6,7,8,9,10 I guess that only leaves out 3 and 5. I'll get to 5ive eventually. I have both anthology and Of these I am very familar with all but 2. I only got about 3 hours into ff2 before putting it down. Somehow my brother had the patience to level grind all the way to beating the emperor. Anyway, Does someone want to fill me in on 3 and 5 (and 2 if you can)so I know what I'm going to be dealing with? That would really help a lot.

It took me about 30 hours. Considering this is only the 2nd portable game I've ever played. I never got into handheld gaming. Anyway, Last night I pulled out my ff4ds and tried to get the pink tail again. I only tried it once before but they took out my team. I fought them with sirens and got the pink tail on the second try. I'm going to try and get the rest of the tails and start the game over. (for those of you who don't know, you keep the tails when starting a new game after beating it) EDIT: Just checked and it took me 36 hours to grind up to lvl 78 as well as get everyone's ultimate weapons. -
I loved it. Although BogusRed's song sounded too much like her Meditation. If you haven't heard it before, you should check it out. It is amazing. http://www.bogusred.net/music.php

Final Fantasy IV: Echoes of Betrayal, Light of Redemption - History

I only tried to fight the pink thingys once. They beserked my whole party. Anyway, all you need to do is go into the room in floor... um. The floor with 3 doors and the first one is a save point. Go back a floor and to the northeast a few steps there is a room with nothing in it. Use a siren in there and I guess you encounter them. I guess it's a 100% chance of encountering thim. But I don't know about the drop rate. -
I rented it. It was a blast! But I'm afraid that to me it will lose it's luster too quickly. I beat the single player mode and even made 2 levels before I returned it. Of course since I had no time, they were horrible in quality, but I still made them. First level was a big block cut into the shape of a rocket. There was a path you could walk to the left and right on. If you moved to the right, your ship would tilt right. If you walked to the left, your ship would tilt left. And in the middle there was a button that you pressed to fire up your rocket booster. The objective was to get to the other side of the poison gas. And that's it. The other one was a music level. I made the MGS theme using the high piano object. But I placed them in proximity so all you needed to do was walk near them. By the way, has everyone seen the "Life in Little Big Planet" documentaries yet? They are great.

Beat them those number of times. Not counting the times I stopped halfway through.
-
I've played mgs1 8 times. mgs2 4 times. mgs3 3 times. mgs4 9 times.

I think someone owes me the last 15 minutes of my life back.

Rant alert: game saves this gen suck!
Thin Crust replied to SwordBreaker's topic in General Discussion
Just open your game documents, locate the save game files, email them. That's how I got past the save and quit rule of Diablo II. I would make 10 copies of my save game and go imbue an item over and over again until I found one that I liked. -

I just checked out the snes ending on youtube. It was identical to the ds ending. Or so it looks like. Can anyone elaborate on these differences between them? -

And I just beat ff4 ds last night. My characters were all between lvl 75-77. I did not expect edge to fall for Rydia. I really enjoyed the game, but I wish there was a little more ending. Speaking of which, I heard that the ds and the snes endings were different. Would it be too much to ask for someone to elaborate on that? -
Oh yea. I forgot Napoleon Dynamite. No plot. No effects. No soundtrack. Poor humor. Bad acting. And the worst time I've ever spent in front of a screen. What makes it worse is that I memorize movies by watching it once. Now it will be stuck in there forever.

Mission to mars. Or I think that was it. People may like it, but I HATED it.

So I finally got my computer back. I am currently at levels 69, 68, 67, 67, 66. And I still can't beat anything on the last 2 floors. Except for the behemeth(sp) of course. And I got to meet Zeromus. He wiped the floor with me. Just how high do your levels need to be before you can win?
