Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
Thin Crust replied to Kiyosuki's topic in General Discussion
I looked, but it didn't give me any options. I'll look again. Also, I'm the biggest noob in the world with the ps3. Can anyone give me details on charging the controler? -
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
Thin Crust replied to Kiyosuki's topic in General Discussion
Well, it's finally happened. I got my ps3 today with metal gear solid 4 for about $470. (40 gig) I played the first scene and it was so annoying. I'm so used to final fantasy XII and its camera movements. MGS4's camera movements are fliped from FFXII and I think it will take too long to get used to it. But anyway, it feels great to join the next gen. Can't wait till I get used to it. -
I started a similar journey. I downloaded every mix individually because for some reason I can't get torrents to work. Sorry about the bandwidth. Anyway, there are about 2,200 songs on my mp3 and I started at H. Now I'm at W. Just road my bike to school yesterday and got a bunch of them listened to. I especially like Wizards and Warriors: Wizards in my Armor (Warriors in my Long-Johns) that I just listened to. After I get done with Z, I'll go back to A and listen to H. It has taken several months to get this far. Actually, I'll tell you how I did it. I just looked and there are 1110 songs from OCRemix on my mp3 player. When I downloaded 50 or so songs, I primed them to be put on my mp3 player and clicked at random parts on the time bar. Judging from the 5 places in the song listening to 2 seconds for each part, I decided if it was worthy to go on my mp3. Needless to say, there were many that I didn't like. But as I went on past mix # 1000, I was rejecting less and less. I really like the increase in quality that OCR has accepted as the standard. Thanks guys.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots

I wouldn't worry about ps1/ps2 games. That's what my ps2 is for. One more time, is it only certain games that need to be installed on the ps3 to play, or is it all, or is it only for online play, or something like that? Is there a problem with the early models? Like the ps2 had disk read errors all the time in it's early days. Like I said, if I don't need to install the games, I think it would be ok to get the less memory less expensive version. -

I figured that since the ps3 is so powerful, it could run unimaginable data directly off the disk... or if it did, would the disk just burst into flame? So again, is there a difference between the 40gig and the 80gig besides the memory? Like i said, I'm cheap and want to avoid spending as much as possible which means cutting out all features that I don't need. Any advice for a n00b? -

Wait a sec, I'm still living in the ps2 era. You actually need to install games in order to play them? You can't just run them off the disk? EDIT; Or is that just for online play? -

Ok, I've finally decided to buy a ps3. I'll wait until my paychecks add up to it, but there are a few questions. I know that there are more than one type of ps3. I know that one has an 80 gig and the other has um... a lot less. But I would only use it for watching blu-ray and for gaming. So no worries about saving media on it. I don't know what else there is different though. I could look it up, but I'm sure that I would find inconsistant info on it. Technically, for me, I wouldn't use the hard drive for anything other than saving games right? Or is there some other necessary space eater that I don't know about? Sorry about the dumb questions, but I don't know much of anything about the ps3. I do know that the OS is similar to the psp though. And I did own one of those for a month before it got stolen. Next question... I've been patient. I have the money to buy it, but I've been waiting for the right time. There aren't going to be any iminent price drops right? And last question... if I get the cheap $400 dollar one, do they have a first edition glitch like the 50,000 series ps2 and its disk read error? I know I'm cheap, and with the exception of my car and school, this would be the biggest bill I've ever paid up. -
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots

I think that Konami spoiled the whole game with all of it's trailers. If you look for them, the entire story is spoiled. I'm thinking that unless there is a mountain of content that they didn't show us, (which I don't think there is) it will be all too familar. -

OCR01719 - Final Fantasy XII "The Winds of Inishmore"

All the times I heard this song while trying to get the Zodiac Spear... I'm glad this one made it. But DJP, is every new game icon going to be the title screen? -

OCR01705 - Xenogears "Babel: A Prison of Fate"
Thin Crust replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
I liked it, but I must be missing something. When I hear the word Babel, I think of the tower of Babel in Genesis. I assume that the same name comes up in Xenogears? Good job nonetheless. -
EDIT: Deleted by request.

1. all plot points I said are already told in either ff7 or ff7ac. 2. no you can't.

I cheated. I watched all the cutscenes on youtube. But now I know the story, and that's what I wanted. I was not going to spend $150 for another psp for only 2 games. (God of War: Chains of Olympus) Anyway... You can't blame Cloud for living in a fantasy world. First his hometown is burned, then tifa is severely wounded, then his friend Zack (that's my name. Funny story later) gets beaten up, and cloud stabs his hero. Then he is shoved into a test tube, and gets mako poisoning. And after he finally comes around, Zack gives him this message that he needs to live both of their lives. It's not hard to see that Cloud would become Zack in his mind. So when I was about 10 years old playing ff7, I named cloud "Zack", because that's how I named all my game characters. When it started talking about Zack from Gongaga, I got confused. I thought that they were talking about Cloud. I was wondering why the people there didn't recognize him as the person who left and joined SOLDIER.

That is a very short time frame to work with. Especially if you want a 4 disk album. AmIEvil? Really?
