  1. i still can't download it for some reason..just loads a blank file. i'd bet a third of your 54 was me trying different browsers, different times, etc...
  2. the only major criticism i have is the lack of a download button on SC i hate skewing the stats for the track, but a third of the listens are probably me. this song sounds a little like something that belongs in the score for Fantastic Planet/La Planete Sauvage; a nice ambiance, with just enough character/disturbance to be interesting in the foreground as well. who cares what the source is.. i love where this is already.
  3. pretty nifty...reminds me a little of the closing credits theme from tron legacy i'd definitely like to hear more. for some reason, i kept wanting more colossus in the mix... maybe some really heavy bass/crashes peppered in to give some emphasis, almost as if a giant monster was walking through the music. i'm clearly no musician, so any way you choose to finish is fine by me, so long as you actually do!
  4. <3 this game can never get enough remix love if you ask me. i actually liked the progression between melodies and styles; felt very seamless. the only thing that took me out of the moment was the voice clip. otherwise... do i really have to rip the youtube to get a copy of this into my itunes today??
  5. astonishing. even Maddox couldn't have done it better.
  6. how fun is this?? that's about as articulate as i can get. totally dig it, especially the build up toward the end. not counting the actual instruments, it sort of feels like there are just 4--like the select screen--that each have their moment to shine with their own personality. why aren't there more remixes of this song??
  7. you win this round. like the melody, and no offense, but i'm just not into the vocal ReMixes. any chance of a karaoke version?
  8. i can't speak to the technical aspects, but i really like it. plus, it cycles well in the auto-looping player; i can listen over and over with little interruption
  9. i'm not normally into this kind of music, but it's totally competent and does the original justice. plus, one of the most interesting waveforms i've ever seen on soundcloud
  10. dude... this is insane...-ly brilliant. i sincerely hope to see this officially released!
  11. where's the download link on soundcloud?? i really like this... the harps don't bother me at all, and whatever that other plucky instrument is (of asian descent?), has a great sound for this melody. i do agree that especially the beginning (pre percussion) sounds a little empty, but i think that's a result of tempo. the quick staccato from both instruments makes my ears assign it a kind of faux percussion in my head; perhaps slowing it down a little bit or starting off a little simpler would let those lovely notes stand on their own. the rest is magic, imho.
  12. one of my fave tracks from melee... hope you get around to finishing this one up someday!
  13. i don't even care what the source material is... this is so awesome, you already win. can't wait to hear more if/when you carry on with it!
  14. i like where the ending is going, even if you don't think it's so hot. the little bit of melody from 1.40-1.45 is really interesting and i want to hear more of it! as for the fading strings, i like it, but part of me wants to hear a few string plucks (like grapes from the vine) __ -- ^ for a more discrete ending. really love it overall... can't (re)play it enough!
  15. i love it... reminds me a lot of the orchestrated Gusty Garden from mario galaxy, and that's a good thing. i too think there could be a better payoff for the ending... it's sort of like a harvest cycle, given the garden analogy. you plant the seeds at the beginning, and we experience the growth over about a minute and a half. a plump, juicy grape harvesting ending is just what this track needs i keep playing this one over and over!
  16. nice! it reminds me a lot of early peter gabriel stuff, with a touch of NIN it does seem to top out quite a bit on the volume side, making it sound mottled. sorry i don't have the technical jargon to offer. the source seems to have a pretty strong melody that this remix downplays; not sure if that is intentional or not. your version sounds more ambient than melodic. for me, if the volume levels were fixed up, i'd be more than happy with the rest of it as-is!
  17. absolutely.. the synth is totally competent, and i like how it turned out. i guess it all boils down to your intent, ice, more than anyone else's opinion about what sound you were going for! and if the hint of the 2012 thing is what i think it is, i am ready to have this thread's baby.
  18. Last Day is one of my favourite game tracks of all time, from one of my top games of all time. Having the OST, I was always a bit bummed how short the official track is, so it's nice to see this (more than) fill those five minutes in the game you can hear actually hear it. Overall I dig it. Pardon my technical jargon inadequacies... the main synth works, though part of me kind of yearns for something more organic, like a natural string (or quartet, which would be symbolic in its own rite) to really set that somber tone, especially with some of the second half--after the five chimes--sounding more natural. BTW, that second half is gorgeous... sounds like a play off of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata... was that intentional as another subtle, symbolic inclusion? Can't wait to hear how things progress!
  19. i adore this concept so much! maybe it's just my own naiveté, but is there any way to download the final arrangement? until this can be an official OCR, i would love to have this among my library
  20. i'm mostly a lurker in the OCR community, but have been following it pretty much forever. i'm breaking silence to tell you that i love this idea and the direction it's heading. the more full, epic delivery around 1:00 is awesome, and sneaking in bits of the gerudo valley theme is genius. i don't normally love piano-based remixes, but this totally works. please keep on with this one!
  21. i love nearly every track from majora's mask; this one is no exception. so much variety in this version.. it starts off a little 'mario galaxy' (an interesting fit, thematically) then some 'doogie howser', and then all manner of loveliness breaks forth. excellent. i can't wait for the full length!
  22. would love to hear v2... link says file is no longer available :-\ maybe i'm just sucker for zelda remixes, or for creative uses of elements (the life-danger sound as a rhythmic element in this case), but v1 is wild. thumbs up!
