  1. Some tracks do seem to stray alot from the originals, though that's not necessarily a bad thing. Considering my relationship to the game, I do visualize the scenarios when listening to the tracks, and I've realized that the tracks don't always fit very good in that aspect. On the other hand, the musical value of this is very high. The vocals on the Heart of Anxiety remix were wonderful! The tracks I've heard this far have all impressed me alot, even though I usually dislike trance-ish music. The robot voice, though? Meh
  2. I'm looking forward to listening to this, though the download is turtling along at 10kb/s right now. One question: Why the wav files?
  3. Yeah, I had my ASIO drivers selected. First thing in the morning, I'll try to look up any updated drivers. I got around the problem by moving all the recorded tracks to fit the lag, and it seems to work alright. Are those suggested VSTs free?
  4. I guess Lucky Number Slevin counts as a *fun* movie. At least I loved it. There's also Snatch and Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels. That's what I can think of right now. I guess you should check them up on IMDB first though, to see if they are of any interest to you.
  5. I've arranged a song in midi-format and imported it to Cubase for overdubbing and mixing. The basic midi bass and drum sounds are rather dull, so I've decided to use VST instruments for those. However, when I enable them, those tracks lag behind the rest. The VST Audiobay shows a total output latency of 13,5ms. That shouldn't be enough to notice, should it? Any suggestions on what to do? ..oh, and my soundcard is a PreSonus Inspire 1394, if anyone knows it.
  6. Aw, how disappointing. I'm really looking forward to this
  7. I tried it last week, but I was a bit put off by the goodie two-shoesness of the game. You're supposed to be an evil overlord, yet you help out the poor villagers and stuff. And then I got stuck at the first boss, and gave up. But the gameplay was alot of fun. And the way your goblins pick up equipment along the way.. Awesome!
  8. Congrats! I miss Pandora. A shame they locked us non-US residents out.
  9. I've named my stationary computer Tiamat, and my laptop is called Tarutaru. I always name stationary computers after grand creatures. It feels good.
  10. So, hi. I've watched this site for years, but haven't gotten as far as to sign up on the forums until now. The site seems to have changed quite a bit since last time I was here, but anyways. I've studied music production for half a year, but had to cancel to go on with other, more important studies. So I'm proficient with Cubase, although I no longer have access to a full version. At this time I'm on the lookout for free software to use as a substitute. VSTi support is very important there. I play the guitar, and I'm currently working on some rearrangements of songs from the Final Fantasy games. I'll also be looking at songs from the original red/blue Pokemon games and Metal Gear Solid. My genre of choice is metal, but my remixes can cover a broad spectrum. There's reggae, jazz-esque tracks and slow piano-based arrangements as well. If you want to know more about my musical taste you could look me up on last.fm under the name Avenius. That was my introduction, see you around!
