  1. By the end of December I'll be sitting on excess cash and computer parts again. I figure that's a perfect time to upgrade my audio workstation a bit. However, I have no idea where to begin. I suppose the CPU should be the first priority, then RAM. Right now I've got a 2,4GHz CPU and 1,25gb RAM. How much is enough? As for my very high latency (13,5ms) in Cubase, I think my firewire external sound thingy might be the culprit. What do you guys suggest?
  2. I'm going to start submitting metal tracks some day. Metal is my primary genre, I just have to touch up my mixing skills first
  3. I saw a poster for this movie yesterday, I'd never even heard of it until then. Of course the poster didn't really draw my interest, but after reading this thread I suppose this could be a fun movie after all.
  4. According to the story, the moose hit him in the back, his backpack taking most of the impact. The blow still knocked him to the ground, and he lay there not moving until the moose left. So it wasn't really a *drop to the ground playing dead* kind of feign like you see in WoW..
  5. But gay anarchists have feelings too! Save the gay anarchists!
  6. I just have to ask: What's the appeal? I played it for a couple of days, but the combat system bored me, and it all just seemed like a cheap Sim Sleep-with-cheap-women. The gameplay would've been alright back when NWN was still kind of fresh, but now it just feels old and simple.. I don't mean to insult those who liked it, I was just very disappointed myself.
  7. I've got countless songs I relate to games, especially to Tibia, FFXI and World of Warcraft. Every time I hear Burning Oasis by Iced Earth I think of one particular dragonhunt in Tibia.
  8. Really? I figured it'd let it go for like 10 bucks or something. It was my least favourite game, back when I was a kid.
  9. A mate recently bought himself a NES again, and has asked me to sell him some of my old games (since mine doesn't work anymore). In particular, the old Ninja Gaiden (or Shadow Warriors as it's called here in Europe) game. How much do you think NES games can go for nowadays?
  10. Hm, I really liked the demo. I was a huge fan of UT2004, but haven't played it for at least a year now. Now, UT3 seems really fast-paced, which is not a bad thing at all. I really enjoy the intense action it delivers. Getting headshots is too easy though.
  11. Mm, I discovered OCR while looking for videogame rock/metal covers. That's still my favourite kind of music. Hellion Sounds was an interesting band that made covers of FF tracks, however their sound was too edgy and the guitars were a bit too.. flourishy?
  12. Damn. Such a talented guy, dying at that age. This is really a terrible loss.
  13. Final Fantasy Potion is pretty nice. I don't remember where I got it from, but it's based on the FF Piano Collections (which is another good choice).
  14. I've always been using Winamp. I've never been a fan of advanced features though, I enqueue the files I want in the playlist from my well-organized folders, and that's it. Where's the crossfade function, or is that a plugin?
  15. The fact that it crashed with the Rush concert broke my heart.
  16. Do you mean like the Snacks 'N Jaxson (+25) title? If that's the case, it reflects your post count, which is in this case above 25. If not.. Well, then I don't know.
  17. I'm using GWAR - The Salaminizer as a ring tone right now. Otherwise I've been switching between the ragtime keyboard solo from Dream Theater's Dance of Eternity and In Flames' Man Made God. Oh, and my SMS beep is the *obtained item* sound from Zelda: Ocarina of Time. ^^
  18. This is beyond sad. It's a worldwide tragedy.
  19. I take it for granted that people have to work regular 9-5 jobs even though they're in a known band. As mentioned, recording in a studio is way too expensive. I suppose gigs don't pay off very well, considering the costs vs the income. There's merch, which doesn't really hit home (at least when it comes to less known bands) unless there's something really catchy about it (at least this is my observation, having worked at my local scene for a couple of years). There's more to selling out than just greed...
  20. The Final Fantasy series. As a matter of fact, I got a version of Terra's Theme arranged with guitars from a mate, and eventually found its source to be ocremix. Lurking ever since.
  21. Very useful information, thanks alot This could've saved me from Cubase.
  22. Welcome, have fun and enjoy! Regards from another newly-registered
  23. Apparently he's engaged an "army of writers", according to a blog post at dragonmount.net. I hope there'll be a decent ending, and that they manage to stick with RJ's style of writing.
  24. I didn't see any info about this on the site, so I'll ask here: Will it be possible to order this on CDs? All the artwork is wonderful, and it'd look great in my CD collection^^
