Coming straight off my playlist, all these songs deserve more stage time on OCR. Pick any one of them, though the more obscure the source you pick, the better. If I find more links, I'll post them. Until then, search for them yourself! Megaman Zero -Crash (can be the , , or Zero 3 version)Megaman Zero 2 - or Awakening Will- -Gravity -Power Bom -Silver Wolf - Yggr-drasill - - Megaman Zero 3 - - - - - - (This is actually a video of all three versions of Neo Arcadia used throughout the series. Couldn't seem to find a video showcasing it individually. Anyway, the song starts at 3:35 in the vid)- -Trail on Powdery Snow - (The person who uploaded this one decided to play the original, and then the remastered version, which starts at 1:33. If anyone chooses this one, please use the original as the basis for your composition.)-High-Speed Lift - - - -Everlasting Red Megaman Zero 4 - - - aka aka (lol)- - - - - -Cage of Tyrant - -Sleeping Beast -Magnetic Rumble -Blackheart Beat - - -Crossover Station - - Megaman ZX - - -Sky High - Grand Nuage - - - - - - - - (Been done here yes, but I didn't like that one. So sorry.)- Megaman ZXA - - -Twisted Vine -Bullet Drive -In the Wind -Brimstone - -Oriental Sentinals -Organic Line -Path to the Truth -Trap Phantasm -Soul Ablaze That's 63 songs from the Megaman franchise that haven't been remixed. That's almost blasphemy people! Edit: I see no reason why this whole thing shouldn't be a project, but lack the time or skills to pull it off. Nevertheless, if anyone shares my love for these soundtracks and would be willing to make this happen, by all means let your voices be heard! I also have a potential title for the album: Legends of Crimson. Just came up with that off the top of my head a couple seconds ago. I think it's pretty cool. Thoughts?
-
I'd like to say Esperanto isn't getting remixed because everyone's too busy remixing these: -Cannon Ball -Straight Ahead -Power Field -Crossover Station -Falling Down ...but I can't. Honestly though, Megaman Zero 3 and 4 are games that deserve their own projects. There are too many awesome songs to choose from.

And people are supposed to understand you...how? I'm no grammar Nazi but wow! Fix this, and then we can talk about people who are up for making you a .hack mix. Think about this for a moment: you're asking someone to spend what could quite possibly be months using up all their mixing time on your little song, yet you wont even take the extra minute to make coherent sentence. Seems kind of selfish if you ask me. As for the .hack games being out-of-bounds material for OCR, well I'd just have to flat out reject that notion. I haven't playing any of them, but I don't have to to know that they make up a sizeably larger chunk of the story then the anime, and that's as good an excuse as any to get some material up here.

This is a game that is very obscure and thus hard to find the music for, let alone mixes of it, but I feel that the tune for the snowy slopes of Hiya-Hiya Island more than deserves at least one cover. Sala-Sala Island would be good too, but if anyone picks this up, ^that^ is my first choice.

I've also been wanting a remix/remastering of Sorrow's Distortion for a while. Better yet, since the entirety of Ecclesia's soundtrack is original material, why not start a project for it? Also, I don't like that one mix of the song BECAUSE of the "special ending." That's gotta go.

OCR01945 - Sonic the Hedgehog 2 "Mystic Chemicals"
purplecowadoom replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
Call me strange, but I don't think this mix does the original anywhere near the justice it deserves, mainly by being too slow. When I go rock, I want it fast and frantic, and I will except no substitutes. -
Closed minded. That's all I got to say on that one. Anyways, the sheet music is great.

Yes indeedy! I think a lot of us like having the extra speed though. Speaking of Super Metroid, I'm currently playing a jillion or so different hacks for it to pass time waiting for the new stuff. Here's my list of goodies and where I stand on them for those who wish to play: Super Metroid Redesign- Stuck in Tourian. Stupid Metroids going 100mph in groups of five or so! This is where I draw the line! Super Metroid Cliffhanger ((Easy Version)'cause I suck...)- Collected all beams, varia, springball, missiles and supers, power bombs, speed booster, and grapple. Also thoroughly lost... Super Metroid Dependence- Thought I beat this but I guess not. People who like missiles over beams will like this hack since it takes a while to get anything other than missiles weapons-wise. Worth a play for time-killing reasons... Super Metroid Golden Dawn- In Sky Temple(what a rip-off name!), got bored... Super Metroid Grapple- Outside Ridley's Lair, can't get in...(Edit: Discovered that the game is essentially broken, opened up SMILE, hunted down the entrance to Ridley's Lair, and added enough grapple blocks to enter. I have now beaten it.) Super Metroid: Zebes Returns- Beaten. Seems mostly the same as the original, but still good for time-killing. Like I had said before, the Kanden motiff on Samus initially is an eyesore, but that changes once you beat Phantoon (you can beat him first in this hack). Then you get a re-styled version of the Varia Suit that looks like an inverted Phazon Suit. Found a glitch. Certain rooms cause Samus to revert back to her normal appearance and flash back and forth between that and the hack's look every time I do something. Well, he did say this was his first hack. Can't expect much outta that! Deathtroid- Beaten. Easier than it sounded like. Enemies are supposed to have double health but that didn't really change the difficulty for me. The only hard parts were Ridley having about 3-4 times his normal health and Metroids taking 20 missiles...so yeah. Super Metroid Impossible- Really freakin' hard! Still managed to get down into Norfair somewhere though. I da man! Super Metroid Legacy- Beaten. It was so close in structure to the original it started getting boring. If there had been much more to this game near the end I might not have finished this one. Super Metroid: SFI (Search For Items)- Beaten. A little too short and easy for my tastes, but maybe that's the kind of thing some of you are looking for. Who knows... Looking forward to Super Metroid Aegis! Can't wait to try using a Geemer as fishbait with the grapple! Now that's a hack! All of these hacks can be found on romhacking.net (with the exception of Grapple and Zebes Returns, the download link is broken. You have to hunt down the creator's site for either of them...). Have fun guys! New pictures from AM2R are up on the creator's blog:http://metroid2remake.blogspot.com/ They're showcasing Alpha Metroids(Although I'd rather see VR's Omegas...oh well)! Edit - The game is almost done! Go Doc!

But he said that he wasn't doing that so a hex editor is about the only way you're going to get anywhere with it. And that's assuming that the person using the editor knows which strings of hex code they're looking for or even what hex code is, which most probably don't. And I have no idea what Cave Story is so I can help right off the bat. Enlighten me please!
-
But then again, if you really (and I mean really really badly) just have to make your own game with his engine, you could always get a hex editor. I think that's waaaaayyy too much work though.
-
Yeah. Not that a lot of their original sprite work isn't great, but being that their original excuse for making them was copyright infringement, and they're where already doing that (from their perspective), there really wasn't any point to it aside from originality itself. I think they probably should've started off with the engine they plan to use now, not how they ended up doing it.

Well said. Now we need to go kick the MP:2D guys off their we-don't-want-to-do-this-any-more chairs and make them finish the job! And while we're at it, let's all learn how to program stuff and make MP2:2D! ...Maybe I went a bit too far there for a sec'.

Yay! Me go get now! *scamper*scamper*!

Zelda: Wind Waker 'Molgera' (WIP)
purplecowadoom replied to progressive's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
Well, you have some talent here, just not the kind of music I can get into. Good work overall though. -
Okay. I'll give you that one. It does look good. I think I may have gotten to play the demo for it too. Must've forgotten the name or something...

Weapons that should be in games but aren't...
purplecowadoom replied to purplecowadoom's topic in General Discussion
Well, you're trying, but you're at least a few years too late. I don't know about games from the past too much to tell if they had this in them, but Metroid Prime 2 has the Darkburst and Megaman 9 has the Black Hole Bomb. My next weapon proposal is not so much a new weapon (Dwemer Shock Darts from Morrowind), but more of a gimmick that I think it should employ. After adding the gimmick, however, it would essentially be a new weapon. Take the basic concept of the shock dart from Morrowind and stick it in a game set in the future, the only other setting where this weapon belongs (aside from alien invasion type games). Then add to its already devastating attack power the trait of making everything electrical stretching out one city block in each direction short out. This would make this weapon a double edged sword. On one hand, you get instant kills with it. On the other hand, every time you use it and it hits a wall instead of the target, you basically turn the whole environment into a Doom 3 knockoff. Oh, and get rid of the dart's insane blast radius. Otherwise it wouldn't matter if you couldn't see. Also, give the enemy night vision so the darkness you create doesn't give you a potential edge. Okay, I'm done now. I just watched a movie (it sucked) that had an awesome idea for a gun that needs to be used somewhere. It's a gun made from the bones and cartilage of a specially-bred mutant lizard that fires human teeth. It's made of and shoots bones to avoid metal detectors. Cool stuff. -

Okay deal. And I am 18 as of March '07. I'm just more or less mature based on the circumstances, as is anyone else. Unless you're a robot. Or a politician. Or a robot-politician. Wait. They're all robots. Nevermind. How about kinetic knuckles? They would be like your standard brass knuckles, only instead of just a punch, after that a blast of pure kinetic energy stored up from punching people could be unleashed in a wave all at once, and the kinetic energy could be altered into any shape you wanted as you release it, also affecting the amount of extra damage done. -

The creepiest part about this is the off-chance where it actually works... Props to ya though! No picking on the pokemon. That's too much...waaaaaahhhhh!!! I shall have my Gengar eat your dreams!!! MUAHAHAHAHA! -
You've lost me.
-
Good point. Now we just need Nintendo to remake all the old 2d games Metroid Prime style and vice versa, and we'll be all set! (Let the debates and flaming begin!) I actually started a debate about this a few years ago on the gamefaqs forums, and noone agreed with me that it was doable. Particularly for Metroid Fusion, which I found even stranger.
-
Yeah, that looks great! Definitely getting! Not the Metroid II Remake I was referring to though. Take a look at this: Uhhhh...nevermind. Probably should have looked at the other trailer first. Now AM2R looks...primitive...
-
I know about Super Metroid Redesign, Metroid Prime 2d, and the Metroid II Remake Project, but I was wandering if anyone knew of any good ones other than those that I could try.

Oooh! Oooh! I got a better one! How about a sword that doesn't know how to properly pick sides and just stabs everybody who says anything 'harsh'! -

Well obviously this thread isn't working towards an end. It wasn't meant to. It's just a thread for people to bounce ideas off each other and see what other people like, with weapons as the medium. It can be kinda fun to see what other people think, when what they're thinking is positive. Apparently this isn't possible with a few of you. I don't mind you having these issues, but deal with them elsewhere. You guys are the only ones acting like this and trying to wreck the thread, noone else. You know what I do when I don't like a thread? I don't post on it. You say I lack imagination. If this is true, then you lack intellect. Go get some. I could do a topic like that, and maybe I will in the future. But right now I'm doing this...deal.
