As Triad mentioned, there's a huge difference between shooting your teammates/where people would be and just holding down your mouse button and picking up ammo as you go, constantly twirling about in circles. Seriously. It's absurd. I mean, he does his job....but damn. -

He is amongst the most paranoid players I've ever met. Seriously. When he plays pyro all he does is stand still and circle about shooting flames. /gross exaggeration -

Xerol, I must ask: you've tried rebooting, right? Every once in a while, I get an error about not having any of the maps (even though it's stuff like Dustbowl/etc) and a simple reboot fixes it right up. -

I actually prefer alltalk off unless the server's not all that full (sub 10 people). So, thanks Powerlord! -

I'm also for keeping Hydro in if we're still talking about that. I'm 100% sure Rock n Roll Martian is too (although I'm not sure that it matters). I am also pretty much against putting Strider/Cyberpunk/gimmicky maps on the normal rotation because it'll kill the server. Like...kill it real damn quick. If there are just a few of us on and we wanna play Cyberpunk, we can simply change it. It's better that way anyways, as I can't imagine playing that map with people who take it seriously. I'm not so much for the whole 'spite Atmuh' thing, but I would love to see this map come back. Really. ONE Arena map for FIFTEEN minutes? You gotta be a pretty big baby to not be able to put up with that.Plus...Brushfire's commentary is beyond epic. -

@ Zephyr: Not so sure. To be honest, I don't think I've read over the MOTD or the rules or whatever else is on there. I just don't act like a douche, usually, and most people seem fine with that. My point is that most people don't read the MOTD, especially not people who randomly join...they just wanna play some TF2. [Edit:] Oh, Zephyr. You make so much more sense than I give you credit for. -

For porn sprays, it's a simple matter of spraying over said porn spray and then recording a demo. When you notice it again, watch said demo and watch said spot. Eventually, the sprayer will spray the spray there. (And just for good measure, spray spray spray.) -

Permaban is definitely too harsh, no way around it. [Edit:] But you can't just not punish him simply 'cause he's part of ZUZ. That's a whole bunch of shit being opened up, right there. -

It's true. He does seem to do it. Which is something I don't really have a problem with. I mean, sticky bomb camping is just part of the game in most servers. Given, it's not in this one. Somebody needs to tell him and make sure he understands. -

@ Bahamut, Atmuh: Oh. I honestly don't recall. I remember getting up to the pole position in the last few weeks and then me and somebody (apparently Vahn) battling it out here and there until the server reset. Regardless: he knew who the person with the most points was. -

Bad luck definitely happens as a Spy, but I've found that, and I know this sounds really cliched, but...after a while, you end up making your own luck in terms of Spy. Sure, occasionally I'll go for a backstab on a Soldier who'll rocket jump with a crit and kill me (I'm not making this up, it happens about once a week). But I'm not at all afraid of going through the vents in Turbine anymore, regardless of the fact that if I run into a Pyro I'm dead. Eh. I like Spy more than I used to. And since everyone plays Pyro so much, I need another class to fall back on. -

I figure not many people give a shit about points to begin with, a few people being the exception. Why is there no one on the server when I wanna play? I get about an hour between 11-1 or so that I really wanna play, and it's always empty. -

I'm with Atmuh on this. I'm not saying I should have had a say in the points being reset or anything like that, but it woulda been nice to know about it before hand and to also figure out how point distribution could be fixed. As it stands, building everything from the Engineer gets you about 13 points, or something like that. Having those destroyed makes you lose nothing (unless you yourself destroy them by using '5'). As Colin has demonstrated, you can just spam stats by going engy, building everything right outside, switching classes to something else and back...and repeating. I dunno. Engy points are kinda screwy. -

I'm pretty sure that my points are coming from Spy/Pyro...mostly Spy this time around, though. You get points for building a sapper. Meaning, if the engy knocks if off and you put one back on...that's some more points. It just seems silly. -

Chadly is correct. Other servers are filled with people who are just generally rude, mic spam a ton and have no idea what they're doing. But ours is so empty... Also, the points system is screwed up. Everytime I get on I go up a few positions (today I was number one, yesterday I started at number 4, the day before that 7)...and I don't think I'm doing that well. I really think something needs to be done so that the points are not so easy to get, or you're going to just reset the server so often due to the fact that some people get points way too easily (Engineers/Spies/Medics). [Edit:] BTW, today I went something ABSURD like 47/5 on Turbine. It was amazingly epic and I loved it. -

This is going to be the last thing I say about Smash Bros, I promise: @ atmuh: When I get a TV in my room this weekend, we should play. We'll see how things work out. On TF2 news: WHY IS THERE NO ONE IN THE SERVER?! -

Haha. I'm flattered. Into the signature it goes! No, it doesn't make you a loser. And for some reason, somewhere in here you kinda started to change my mind.It is a game and thus shouldn't be 'serious business' unless it is competitive playing or something...huh. I think what my point is is that I don't mind crits (really, I don't) but wish they were much less frequent. A Soldier should not bank on 1 in every 5 shots being a crit. And me and Bahamut do that same thing too...except, it's never a competition and he always crits me. And it's not so much fun as it is despairing. I swear to God, he has like a 30% crit rate with whatever character he plays. I'm going to assume you're kidding as you play a lot of Smash. But, in case you're not...I think you may be right. I do suck at Brawl, 'cause I don't play it much. Which is why I don't like it. Lemme explain:I can STILL go over to a friend's house and pick up Snake and come damn close to kicking his ass, even though I suck. God knows what would happen if I decided to play Metaknight. And I know he's not a scrub, as he's in the top 10 or so SSB64 players and one of the top 20 in the South (jeah, we suck much more than everywhere else, but he's good among us) in Melee. I think people around here are saying he's in the top 5 in this area as far as Brawl goes. It is still fun, just as TF2 is even on allcrit servers (yes, there are those, sadly). But some people just enjoy playing in a way that luck doesn't come into play or, in Brawl's case, where things are balanced. Hope that last part made since. I'm at work and kinda having to do this and, y'know, work at the same time. ALSO, Internet Explorer is really weird. I had forgotten how weird it is since I hadn't used it in such a long time. -

Yep, they're completely different. I'm not so sure I agree that they're both excellent, though.Yes, one is definitely excellent. The other...isn't. It's not bad, don't get me wrong. I was exaggerating earlier about it being no fun and about strategy, but compare it to Melee; it's like comparing checkers to chess. One has tactics and more skilled players will win...and the other has Metaknight. :-/ I'm glad you find me amusing. I'm not whining about it, either. Or, at least not verbally/loudly/much. I whine about crits when they happen to me, pretty loudly usually...I don't ever whine about Brawl because I simply avoid it. Those exploits you named though are what make the game good, or better, than Brawl. They add a level of depth that Brawl just doesn't have ATM. Yes, the level editor is damn cool. So is the soundtrack. I don't regret my purchase at all for these two things, even though it's been a while since I've played the game. The online mode is...well, meh. It's too laggy for my tastes. I'm not expecting something perfect, but something a little closer to playable woulda been nice. And I think the stubborn thing goes two ways: there are tons of people who never even gave Brawl the chance (I tried, I really did; Olimar is lots of fun and I miss him when playing Melee), but then there are people who just refuse to believe that Melee is a deeper, albeit older and more thoroughly played through game... The thing about randomness is that it's random. I mean, it's fun, sure. 4 person FFAs on a stage that lags with all bombs and Pokeballs is a ton of fun...it just has no place in a match based on skill. If I just upsmashed and lo-and-behold, a bomb falls on me as my kick is going up...well, that's not the other guy at all. That's luck, fate, or God telling me to piss off. That's not fun for me or the other guy...except, maybe it is: I'm really glad you get satisfaction from this. I mean, there is something amusing about watching a crit rocket fly across the map to some doofus sniper who refuses to move. That's his mistake, not your luck. But you really are happy about winning a fight by a silly crit? On top of the towers in Cyberpunk, two scouts, bats out..and the first hit is a crit that kills the other guy. You're happy about that? Maybe it's just something I can't wrap my brain around. Randomness isn't bad, but silly random is. [Edit:] And talk about a thread hijack. Sorry. Also, there are NO PEOPLE IN THE SERVER. CMON, GUYS, JOIN. -

Hemo's an admin? Huh. @ Weirdboyscott: There is absolutely NO making Brawl fun at all, nor is there any way to take the strategy out of the game as there isn't any. Melee is where it's at, and taking the items off is much preferred. Can you imagine kicking the hell outta somebody only to have a bomb randomly drop in on you? It's exactly like crits: dumb. Also, I have a serious question: why do people chase Spies to the end of the earth? I know, I know, it sounds silly...but seriously. Sometimes, I'll backstab someone and just run off, turning around to notice I'm being followed by 2 medics and a pyro who are COMPLETELY DISREGARDING the rest of my team attempting to kill them. What in God's name possesses someone to do this? -

Just got off the server... ...'cause I couldn't hear myself think. I'm not sure anyone else was on that frequents the forums (Presh was, but does he show up here?), but it was probably the loudest I think it's ever gotten in there. At any given moment, there were at least 3 people talking and another mic spamming. I'm not making this up. It was bad.
