  1. I feel bad...I haven't shown up to TF2 in a long while. It's cause I've gotten hooked on the Fire Emblem game from the GC. I'm on the last chapter now (and it's hella hard), but then there's the sequel, and then there's Left 4 Dead... I may be on sometime in 2011...?
  2. @ Powerlord: That's perfectly fine by me. T'was silly to begin with. @ Meeting Gman: Hm...that's odd. You should probably be getting better framerate than that. Have you considered turning down your resolution?
  3. "Updated Granary to remove the setup time and gates" Yes, Valve. Thank you. You've realized the error of your ways and repented. We forgive you.
  4. WindStrike...did you happen to get it while playing an Engineer on Dustbowl, after having built your sentry and hitting it with your wrench? 'Cause, I got a blue screen the other day (first one on Vista, actually) from doing that.
  5. I'm not going to be on pretty much at all this weekend as I've gotta spend time with the girl. Also, I haven't been on the past few days because FFIV is really good. Seriously. I want them to remake it on something that'll convey emotion better than the DS...it's probably one of my favorite Final Fantasies, TBH.
  6. The one that consistently gets me is 'Unrest in the House of Light' (3). The specific line is the one in which Light yells at Megaman 'You are all that I have left!' It's such a psychologically deep song...
  7. @ Cottus&Gyes: That....is an amazing idea. I really really like it. But what would be the negative thing to it? A slower stab speed? Perhaps it's ALWAYS that long backstab animation (that sucks and should die)?
  8. There are a few songs that have a lot of meaning to me, but not many that get me due to the song itself...most due to the situations where I've encountered them. That being said...The Protomen's self titled album, which is a rock opera concerning Protoman, Megaman, and Dr. Light...is an amazing listen that gets me every now and again.
  9. I'd like to point out to whoever suggested that these updates are imbalancing...I think it was Xerol...that they're not really. They're updates, not improvements. Valve's making it so that you're given more choice in your weapon arsenal, not given weapon upgrades. Sure, some of them are obvious winners (axtinguisher, ubersaw) but others...well, the original's probably better (normal flamethrower, Sasha).
  10. @ SirChadly: It's probably because you're an Engy man, but I think assuming that the next update will be engy is hopeful, at best. For starters, notice how the post before that was 'Gentlemen,'? Definitely the spy...but there's been no update. They probably just like quoting the game that they made. Also, engineer is, somehow or another, the most played class in the game (beating out even Pyro, which does not make any sense to me at all). They've updated the lesser played classes...why would they jump to the top of the list? I think (or rather stand by my earlier guess) that the next update is going to be either Scout or Spy (who is somehow on the lower end of percent played). But, since we're making guesses... Offensive buildings seems like a pretty cool idea, honestly. I like that a lot...good call. It may be a little powerful, especially if you can upgrade it to something superior than a level 1...but jeah. The idea of an 'anti-spy' wrench made me laugh. Speaking as a spy, and I'm sure that most others will agree with me....that wrench already crits about 75% of the time and is at least 30 feet long. I mean, I'm not saying there won't be a new wrench that's like what you're saying, I'm just not seeing anyone using it over the already really powerful wrench. A guitar would be cool, although I'm not sure what it would do. For some reason, I really wanna give them something that could unsap a sentry (scent tree) from far away after a shot or two but does REALLY little damage, or doesn't crit. Hm... That is all!
  11. Pyromancer...I'm sure I could get it twice. Probably getting close to it's second time now, TBH. And Xerol...that is most odd. How does your computer do all these things to you?
  12. I remember earning most of my medic achievements legitimately... ...but then having to farm for a few of them, which is why I have a 70 point high in that class. Bah. Wish I could reset JUST my medic stats.
  13. Oh Zephyr. You think that after HL2 you'll be able to play anything other than Episodes 1 and 2...you're so mistaken. [Edit:] Also, someone mentioned GoldenEye Source. How is it? Are there enough players to make it worth my time?
  14. You guys wanna see bad, bad addiction? Check out my page. http://steamcommunity.com/id/sensaiopti/stats/TF2 I can't take credit for all of this, though. Without delving too much into details, there was a guy that used my account last year (way before I started playing on the OCR server) that pretty much played Spy/Sniper/Scout. Actually, I think that Sniper's probably my least played class. But, jeah, there you go. /needs to get a life
  15. Doh. As you can see, I didn't look very much into it. From what I saw, which was apparently way WAY off, it looked to me to be some type of futuristic, green LEDs FPS. My b.
  16. As I'm sure most of you are aware, Steam started hosting some mods on their servers...specifically, there are 5 that they're more or less advertising ATM. DIPRIP, some type of vehicle carnage game Synergy, [edit] is not a futuristic FPS, but rather something that allows single player Source games to be cooperatively played...right? Age of Chivalry, a knights of ye round type multiplayer game Zomibe Panic! Source, a survivors vs zombies game and Insurgency, a hyper realistic FPS set in Iraq Out of these, I've played AoC, ZP!S and Insurgency...and I really like the first two. Insurgency is just a bit too realistic for me and, well, that's just not my thing. But AoC and ZP!S are amazing. The first really gives you this feel of epic army vs army action and the latter is terribly atmospheric. You can download them both through Steam right now, and I'd honestly recommend you try it out. (Also, Black Mesa Source [a remake of HL1 using the Source engine] looks promising...if they'd ever finish. )
  17. @ Moseph: Thanks, I'll be bumping that thread and looking into it. @ everybody else concerning crits: I'm really sorry (I'm being sincere, not sarcastic) that I derail this thread and bitch about crits so much. I'mma do my best to stop. @ Dhsu: You're absolutely right, although I'm a little offended that you think that I just enjoy picking on noobs. I enjoy having fun as much as the next person (which is why the axtinguisher is my 3rd favorite weapon according to HLXstats)...it just detracts from getting critted more often than not. But, I'm done. Really. I'll still apologize for critting people (especially when I shoulda died otherwise) and occasionally pointing it out on the server. But no more here. It erupts into too big a deal. Sorry again.
  18. This is way off topic. Sorry. Has anyone else tried Age of Chivalry? It's one of the five mods being hosted by Steam...and it's really amazing. It gives you the feel of an epic clash between two kingdoms. Jeah, it's really good. Figured I'd recommend it.
  19. I'm sorry that you find my whining annoying. Feel free to just disregard/not listen to anything I say. [Edit:] Actually, I don't mind the one hit kills thing (this is in response to Bleck). I mean, in CS, it's usually people who are pretty talented that can successfully pull off headshots on command. Snipers/Spies don't bother me in TF2 either. It's not the 'oh man, I got hit and I'm dead' thing that bothers me, it's the [stop reading if you're tired of crit whining] 'alright, I've got this guy pinned because I worked hard to set things up right and now he's gonna -- crit shotgun.' [start reading again] /sings Kids, kids, kids....they listen to the rap music...
  20. Just conducted a mini-experiment, if you will. I logged on and waited until there were more than 6 people in the server. I began to play normally and counted my 'deaths by crit' and 'deaths by my error.' Unsurprisingly, here's what I found: Crits: 8 Error: 6 I also would like to note that the last 3 deaths (normal) were all when I had +400 ping, although one of them I'm fairly sure I woulda been screwed anyways. So, even with those last 3 deaths, crits are still making up for over 50% of my deaths. That is silly. Crits are silly. And before anyone says anything about it, yes, I know this is Q.Qing, but it's justified.
  21. Bleck, I'm not sure you said what you meant. I don't think it's hard to deny the fact that most people know Dustbowl... That being said, I'm not too big a fan of it. Also, I really miss being able to jump on the server whenever. Good times, those were.
  22. I'm sad to say that I think the easiest class to pick up and be good at is the Pyro... I maintain the fact that there's a visible difference that's easy to see between a good and a noob pyro, but I really think they went from being the worst class (pre-update) to one of the easier ones to play.
  23. LOL @ video. And am I the only person who doesn't think Demos are too good? I mean...they're good, but they're not overly good. IMO, soldiers are better. Not saying they're busted either, mind you.
