  1. I'm pretty sure that we have this conversation every 25 or so pages. Not to say I'm getting bored of it (because I still enjoy people attempting to justify the backburner), simply that we know where the line is drawn: the majority of people here prefer the normal flamethrower while a few like the backburner. Neither side is going to convince the other that they're the superior one.
  2. Need help with two things. One, where can you buy CD keys for D2? I have my key for LoD but not for D2 and, although I will not likely play it again, I would like to get a cd key just so that I _could_ play it. Two, why would anyone buy the physical copy of the game anymore? If you can just buy a cd key for 10 bucks and then register it to Blizzard's site, which lets you download the game for free...
  3. Saw the news this morning at like 2. So happy.
  4. Jeah, you really don't wanna play Orange. When people cite everything wrong with TF2, they're really talking about Orange. Low respawn times and a kinda difficult health cabinet to get to, along with no incentive to play anything but Sniper...makes for really, REALLY dumb people. Like, you think 2fort kids are bad? Man...
  5. @ Clefairy: Sorry, but for some reason it never occurred to me when you earlier were speaking about people who have mics that never talk; anyways, Lumpy has a mic. Every once in a while he'll push the talk key and hit the mic. It hurts the ears, but it's nice because it's out of love.
  6. Man...that Goldrush match was amazing. I recorded most of it (I didn't record the beginning of the Huntsman defense. Sorry guys.) and have put it all into a .7z file for your viewing pleasure. You'll need the most excellent 7zip to get into the archive. If you are for some reason against installing it, I'll put it in a .rar or something for ya. The final file size is roughly 22 MB. The files are named in a way that it's pretty easy to tell what came first, second, and third as long as you know that our turn on offense came before defense. 2fort was immediately afterwards and I regretably did not record all of that either. In fact, the 2fort demo isn't terribly interesting unless you're tired, haha. The demos are all from my perspective and, thankfully, without my voice. You can just ad-lib whatever you think I should be saying when you see the little '!' symbol on the right. Demos. **This post was made in memory of [...]Toast, who, moments before the awesomeness took place, was switched to the opposite team. I'll miss you.**
  7. I'M SORRY YAHOO, I STILL <3 YOU. I think what happened was that I don't know what time zone the forum uses, so I probably posted in one of those odd times where it's Saturday where I live and Sunday according to the forum... ...or I coulda just been up hella late and I didn't register that it was Sunday yet. Sowwy.
  8. I remember leaving my Sega Genesis on and unhooking the AV cables from the TV, so that my family could still watch TV even though I didn't turn off Sonic. Man...you remember when Sonic was good? THOSE WERE THE DAYS.
  9. I grew up with those harder games. I remember me and my father playing Zelda when I was like 6, just running around aimlessly killing things on the screen. Games had less direction back then which, I guess lookin' back on it now, isn't a great thing, but they were still a lot of fun. Zelda especially gave me the sense that it was up to me (and my dad, I s'pose) to save the world from...whatever the hell it was we were trying to save the world from. Battletoads I never beat when I was little. I remember me and a friend would attempt it every single time he came over and never got past the third level (the speed bike level). 15 years later, I hacked my Wii and me and ANOTHER friend sunk a ridiculous amount of time into it and I finally beat it. Then I got to the point that I was able to beat it without using more than one continue. It was a great feeling to beat the snot out of a game that I could never beat when I was younger. I also remember beating Mega Man 2 in less than a day when I was like 6. That and Battletoads with only one continue are two of my greatest accomplishments concerning videogames. Sorry, I rambled. I guess the answer to the question is that we just didn't give up (unless it was Battletoads). We just kept throwing our lives, continues, and will at the game until finally it just gave up on us.
  10. Scrim was a blast! We should definitely do it again. Thanks to the ZUZ folks for letting us use their server and thanks to everyone who showed up!
  11. Just a friendly reminder for anyone interested in scrimming: we're doing it tomorrow night at 9 PM Eastern. I don't think I'm Steam friends with everyone who's interested, but I'm sure that everyone's friends with at least one person who's scrimming, so you should be able to get the IP from somebody. We'll be scrimming on the ZUZ server. I'll try to make sure everything's set up at around 8.30 or so. See you all there, hopefully.
  12. Woah woah woah, wait. I thought it was Comedy Central that was getting the rights to create more Futurama episodes. So, isn't it Comedy Central making all these demands (or cuts, or whatever)?
  13. I definitely don't care about capturing the flag on 2fort/turbine matches. 2fort simply because I think it's a bad map and I pretty much just do stupid things [Edit:] (not spycrab the entire time, but try out new things, such as playing my god awful sniper) the entire round and turbine because I think playing defense is too much fun. Pub players can be aggravating, but I can't really complain, since I only joined like a month or two before I started playing there. What really does bother me, though, is asshole pub players. Earlier today there were two guys on the server who just bitched and moaned about Red rolling Blu. I said that the teams weren't imbalanced and that we (Blu) just needed a medic. We got one...and then they bitched about Blu rolling Red. Ele and one of them started arguing and it escalated to the point of annoyance. I'm fine with pub players, good or bad, until they start being assholes. I'd take a bad pubbie who isn't a dick over an all star player who is. I honestly believe that Dustbowl would be a pretty decent map if Engineers were not allowed. (Not actually suggesting that, simply saying that sentry farms, while not completely invincible, are pretty damn aggravating, ESPECIALLY on Dustbowl.)
  14. Slight update for anyone still following this: http://tv.ign.com/articles/100/1007163p1.html Apparently, John DiMaggio is pretty optimistic about returning for the show....or at least he has "a good feeling it's going to turn out for the best." We'll probably learn at least something more tomorrow, as they're all doing that panel at Comic-Con.
  15. I would be incredibly interested in trying out both of those Engineer games, specifically the Spy one. Man, that'd be great.
  16. It's 9 PM, Eastern time. We had about 9 people show up, including at least one person interested in speccing. ...and then we had some pubbies show up. Which was fine, at first. But then it grew. So, it's hard to do without a server that can be passworded and such. So, we were all bummed and then garian suggested (as he has apparently done before) that we should see about borrowing the ZUZ/lions server. Wish said he'd be cool with that, so we officially have a server to play on for Saturday. 9 PM, Eastern. Be online. [Edit:] SUNDAY, DAMMIT.
  17. So, I went AFK for a long time earlier today and came home to discover a nice little surprise waiting for me via Steam chat. Also, Joseki will be able to play Thursday, so the whole FTF vs thing might kinda work out, as we apparently picked up another person. Lesson learned: Crit rockets from Joseki < crit tickles from Joseki.
  18. Oh son of a --. This would be (and by the looks of it, will be) so bad...I mean, I understand that's just how the real world works, but god dammit, that sucks.
  19. I think that if all of FTF could play, we'd have...Lumpy, Joseki, me, Bleck, D-Lux. So, that's 5 total. As you say, not quite enough. Also, I just found this for anyone who's interested: it is a good deal of TF2 icons blown up and fixed to be backgrounds for your desktop. Very sleek looking, minimalist wallpapers. http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=920892 [Edit:] And meatball. So I suppose if we all could make it on one day we could do the FTF vs thing, but I don't think we'll all be able to make it.
  20. That Jetpack clip made me laugh pretty hard. Thanks for sharing it. Also, Clefairy, I'm interested in how teams are being decided and what map we're playing, etc etc.
  21. I am free on both the 23rd and the 26th at that time. [...] !!: i should be good for both [...] !!: the only thing is on the 26th id probably be on laaaate (So, !! is for sure on the 23rd, 26th is possible) [FTF] Hoseke: (I'm good) pretty much every night after 11 est. I work until 10:30 on weeknights :/ [FTF] Hoseke: weekends I'm usually free (So, Joseki's good on the 26th definitely, maybe the 23rd) Also, Elesarana or however it's spelled expressed interest in doing scrims if they were Highlander style. I may have already mentioned that. And what can I say? A lot of people really hate the FAN.
  22. !! has voiced desire to play, as has Lumpy. Anytime at all is good for myself.
  23. @ Clefairy: Oh about Loghead. It seems like we have enough people to play an inter-OCR scrim, though. Joseki, meatball, garian, Abyss, Prophet Orwell, bleck. That's six. Clefairy, Donut, me. That's 9 people who definitely wanna do scrim-style matches, not including people who would definitely be up for it (like Hawk and Rambonzai). [Edit:] Sporknight and Yahoo are in. That's 11. One more and we can do this. [Edit 2:] Just noticed Clefairy made a roster; he's much more organized. Ele said she'd be interested if we were doing Highlander, but I don't think we'll get enough people for that.
