But the kids love it.
Honestly, I loved the first game, possibly on a level that borders the erotic, but I'm not all that excited about the remake. Like Kyle said, Halo is tired, and I'm tired of it.

I like shorter songs. I'd rather have 1-3 minutes of sheer freakin' awesome that I can enjoy listening to repeatedly than 10 minutes of Dream Theater wankery. Yes I said it, I don't like Dream Theater.
Incoming! *ducks*
I listen to both. Frequently. My favorite bands are metalcore, and in that genre, you usually average about 3-4 minutes for a song. I listen to a lot of punk bands that have a good minute-thirty before the end up in the next song. And then of course there's stuff like BTBAM, who can only fit a so many 15-minute songs on a single album.

I'm not even going to try and explain everything that makes this track so awesome. There's just too much there.

We all know that it boils down to personal preference. For me, it's FL Studio. For others, it's others.

I've been toying around with writing a hardcore metal mix of the main theme. I dunno if anyone else is planning to remix a track from the series.

A big problem I've had until recently is using the same tone for different parts of the music that are panned in the same location and not EQing it at all. An example can be heard
, where I had four guitar tracks running other than the main lead, two panned right and two panned left, same tone, no EQ, and playing different parts. Hear how muddy that crap sounds? Also, the only monitoring I have currently is a $20 Logitech headset, so my production quality sounds muffled on many other setups as a result. Like Blue Magic said, that doesn't really cut it.
Also, check my Red Zone remix for a great example of massive production issues including extremely mechanical-sounding drums and over-compression.

Change thread title to "Autotune Thread"? Cause, ya know, I'm still waiting for that one guy who's gonna come in and vouch for the current state of DLC.
Yeah... any day now...
Any day...

Call me a sucker, I guess. Must be the WoW player in me. I've purchased DLC for a few games. Always games I know I'll be playing long-term, though. Lately I've been passing up DLC I normally would have bought, though. Tough times and all that, not to mention more and more of my money going towards music gear instead.
I get the whole "you're not getting the whole game on purchase" argument, because sadly, it's true a lot of the time, though normally not to the degree of the example you gave.

I've usually work on stuff for about 6 or so hours before I get it out, longer if it has vocals, and shorter if it's some cover I'm uploading to YouTube. And yeah, I've been noticing that I don't take enough time with my tracks to get everything perfect like I really should, so I'll probably be spending a lot more time on future tracks.

My girlfriend and I have been together close to 7 years. Might as well be married.

On-topic comic.
I lol'd.
But yeah, I'm kicking that cost back a bit by selling my DSi. I'm sure plenty of other people will be doing the same.

It would be as dumb as Microsoft taking all the changes that went into Windows 7 and packaging them as a service pack for Windows Vista.
I've actually heard more than one person say "that could have/should have been done". Not that I don't agree with you, though.

I do all my recording using FL Studio. Personal preference mostly.

DusK is a shortening of ItStartsAtDusK, a nickname I made a couple of years ago based on the fact that I did almost all of my gaming at night when I got off work.
My side project, From The Forest Itself, is inspired by a Matisyahu lyric, which was taken from a line from a Midrash. "From the forest itself comes the handle for the axe."

I run Win7 64bit on my desktop and laptop. No probs with FLStudio 9 here.
-
That's a step in the right direction, I guess. Why no nickname system? Is Nintendo really that worried about nicknames not being kid-friendly?
-
I too lol'd good and proper. And then showed my girlfriend, who never lols at anything due to a proken humor thingamajig, who also managed to lol good and proper.

I use a 360 controller for everything. I didn't find the d-pad to be all that bad.

I played guitar as a hobby about 9 years ago. I didn't start seriously thinking about doing something in music until maybe 5 or 6 years ago.
-
Don't most of these come with whatever FLStudio pack costs $200?
-
FLStudio for me. I like the FPC and the piano roll.
-
Hell, anyone could prolly kick my ass in SF2 using just one hand.
-
I'd definitely love to do a metal remix of "Escape Hero."

Joystick sensitivity for controllers, and mouse sensitivity settings for X/Y separately. And no 1-to-10 crap like Halo. REAL settings, like Valve's Source Engine games.
Oh, and look inversion. I have to be able to play with look inversion. If it don't have it, I aint gonna play it.
