  1. It seemed to work fine for the few hours we had it running, and forced us to download new files. I honestly didn't check to see if the particle files had actually been updated or not. Either way, I don't think this is going to get enabled again until valve fixes the particle engine bug. Hopefully this add-on will spark enough bug reports to get their asses i gear. Also of possible interest, Icarus just released pl_waste_v2 for those who liked the old pl_waste, but thought it had some balance issues.
  2. How about I reset psychostats, and we leave HL? THis gives fresh stats for people that want them, and old stats for the rest.
  3. the weather plugin has been disabled since last night, though I might have forgotten to reboot after disabling it:< fixing that now. Also, in atmuh's defense here, the issues people are having were NOT reported on alliedmodders until after we installed it, and there is a lot of support for it on irc/on the actual server. There's discussion on the same thread for a non-particle version (No weather effects, just changes the lighting/skybox) which might be more acceptable. Oh yeah, and I was the one who installed it, so it's my fault, not atmuhs.
  4. For the record, I though holden was rambo. To be fair, I didn't check who it was before responding, but I know everyone in my friends list is an OCR regular who I trust, so it was moot. Moving on: Your circumstance was blinding a player trying to play the game. He asked you to stop, you didn't. I couldn't easily get in the game so I had him inform you that if you didn't stop, I'd begrudgingly load up tf2 to ban you. You didn't stop. I banned you. It was a 10 minute ban. That's pretty light slap on the wrist for admin abuse. Oh, I updated the themes plugin to v0.6. It has some bug fixes, seems like the waffling was fixed as well. I've disabled it for now, but if people want to bring it back let me know.
  5. yeah, I'm aware the source of the old version is out, but there's some promising progress on a new one that should be out "soon", complete with web interface and the like. I'll probably switch follower out for fastlane, as I actually confused the two when I put follower back into rotation As for the revamped 2fort, I've not tried it but it doesn't seem to be too popular. I'd actually like to add pl_frontier into rotation. I can't really think of any major issues with that map, plus the added hilarity of being train'd by the cart.
  7. My problem with koth_sawmill is how easy it is to lock down the point with a sentry. The middle point has a lot of clutter that makes for positions where it's easy for the sentry to hit you, but hard for you to get to the sentry. Also, the whole team will be there making sure you can't get do any sentry LOS tricks. Also, the vanishing sawblades become a major issue when they're RIGHT NEXT TO THE POINT. On the other hand, I like ctf_sawmill. Yes, the intel rooms are cramped, but there are no good sentry positions. If you put it in the intel half of the room, it's an easy target for a soldier to strafe, and if it's in the far room with the entrances, a demo can easily nab it with stickies. Since most people won't take the detour through the intel room, there's usually only the single engineer in there, making it an easy smash and grab. If they start building up a large defense in the intel room, ubers become godlike... one uber heavy can clean the whole room out with little trouble. So I vote ctf_sawmill.

  10. Let me clear some things up, as this discussion has derailed. We're NOT going to do a blanket ban on nQa or any other clan. I know powerlord brought this up, but it won't happen. What will happen is the admins will be operating under a much lower tolerance for team stacking and other violations, as several people have been abusing the rules. Don't be surprised if you get banned for avoiding scrambles, or ignoring a request to switch teams due to stacking. This isn't hard. - If teams are scrambled, and you switch back, you'll be banned. - If you are on the losing team, and switch over to the winning team, you'll be banned. - If you are on the same team as all of your clan mates, are rolling the server, and refuse to switch, you will be banned. - If an admin asks you to switch teams for stacking reasons, and you don't comply, you will be banned. - If you have to be reminded regularly about team stacking or other server rules, sooner or later you will be banned. Note that the duration of this ban is up to the admin. I really don't want to have to start keeping a log of who I warn about what rule when. We don't have that many of them and you all play regularly, there's no excuse for this shit
  11. ID: STEAM_0:1:2183945 was banned for 30 minutes I was actually on when this ban happened, didn't think much of it at the time but I suspect we may have someone exploiting a bug in sourcemod. I'll be updating it later. I've removed all 30 minute bans (They don't seem to be auto-clearing?!), but I'll need to sort out the 10080s later.
  12. I personally have no problems as long as the stacking stops. My current policy is warn once, then it's a ban. Everyone knows the rules; it's possible the RNG just stacked things and nobody was paying attention, but if you're part of a clan, and rolling the other team, you should be thinking about switching to even things out a bit. I know miyako has been actively trying to keep team balance, and I'd hope other people would consider doing this as well. Scrambling teams is a crap shoot and can just as easily make things worse, so if people were conscious about self balance that'd be ideal. I should also point out that losing doesn't mean teams are unbalanced. I'd rather lose a few rounds than sit in stalemate over the middle point in a 5cp map for 30 minutes.
  13. I've seen this as well. I've warned them about it previously, but they don't seem to be getting the picture. EDIT: Also, for those requesting custom achievements, it seems that mod is broken right now, and the original author has abandoned it. It looks like others are trying to revive it though.   14. I suggest using winSCP for this purpose, as it has a nice interface for this. Double click the file and it downloads a fresh copy and opens it in notepad/whatever your default editor of choice is. Make your changes, save, and it uploads the new modified copy. I merged our whitelist with atmuh's, hopefully nothing explodes. If it does, I've made a backup of the old file, as well as comments in the current one as to how to reverse the changes. I've uploaded ctf_aerospace_b4 to the map folder. Feel free to check it out; however be aware that it's 114mb uncompressed, and around 50 compressed... so be prepared to grab a sandwich while you're switching maps also, powerlord, thanks for adding those reserved slots. I'm pretty good at procrastinating about these things
  15. This entire discussion is retarded. None of the admins here are going to alter or limit the Demo in any way on the OCR server. If you want to whine about a class being OP, try steampowered.

ENJOY. EDIT: Oh, you can also use this to generate thumbnails for use in the forum! If you nose your browser into the thumbnails folder, you'll find the compressed images all sitting there waiting for you. Just make sure you look at the main page at least once before looking for the thunbnails.
  17. Nucleus is great fun in small numbers, but I think it gets rather bad in a full server. 4v4 though? I'll nominate that shit.
  18. I was asked to remove well by several people. I'm not opposed to putting it back in, but I'd like a few more people to chime in either here or via irc/steam. so far I've had more requests for it's removal than it's return. We already have cp_well, and as above, many have voiced their distaste for that particular map.
  19. No FLAC please, but I'd love to see some higher bitrates. Maybe the filesize limit could get a minor bump to accomidate some V0 goodness, assuming the mirrors don't mind.

  22. WORLDWIDE HEAVY BOXING CHAMPION's steamID is STEAM_0:1:25672182 :Dr. Fire (RAGE)'s steamID is STEAM_0:0:19214142 Neither of these IDs are banned under steambans or VAC, but they're one session wonders, and both have comments indicating that they're assholes, so I'm trusting the Tiger here.
