  4. supar-bump: New album is out, Orion. It has a very chiptek/coloris feel to it, so if you liked those you'll probably like this. Grabbed my copy off amazon for $8.99 His myspace page also has 3 of the tracks up (Atomic, Ride,and Moonlight) if you want to check them out.

Capping CP points doesn't add time to the clock (but they can still go into overtime). I left in sawmill as well since quite a few people enjoy this map.
  6. I'm going to move the new maps around (Though I think the server randomizes it anyway), they're just at the bottom right now to avoid confusion. Axed harvest if nothing else than because it's easy for soldiers and demos to exploit the open roof around the point. Follower is also up on the chop block.   8. I support keeping viaduct in the rotation. It's the only KOTH map that isn't plagued with terrible design flaws (nucleus), or game breaking bugs (vanishing sawblades in sawmill) yukon is meh... don't like it but I don't hate it. I think do agree that the rotation needs some love though. Current rotation: koth_viaduct cp_granary pl_badwater cp_badlands ctf_sawmill cp_gravelpit pl_goldrush cp_yukon_final ctf_2fort cp_follower cp_dustbowl plr_pipeline cp_steel ctf_turbine tc_hydro I'd like to axe hydro, pipeline, and sawmill, maybe add cashworks. If anyone has a custom they'd like to suggest, now's the time.
  9. My main issue with KAC is that the ban list is closed, and ban resolution system is to PM some guy on some forum. Since there are a number of threads about potential false positives (granted we don't know the full story here) it's hard for me to stand behind KAC. My take on VAC remains the same: If someone is cheating, it's going to catch up with them sooner or later. We have active admins and features like voteban for this reason. To my knowledge we rarely get cheaters on the OCR server, so I don't feel adding cheat protection is necessary. There's a thread on facepunch that's spawning these at alarming rates.
  10. That steam ID isn't banned by VAC or steambans. I can't speak for the rest of the admins, but I'm not going to ban someone blindly without proof. Also: voteban. You have it for a reason. If they really were cheating, VAC will catch up with them sooner or later. EDIT: ok, after a bit more search, there's clearly some manipulated data. Throwing down a ban.
  11. I've talked with Darke a bit on this, as well as read most of the things posted in this thread. For now I'm NOT going to implement class limits. While I personally support them, the opposition has a valid point, and given what the server's general focus is, class limits do not line up with this. There have been plans in the works for a second "serious" server where such a thing might be implemented (as well as alltalk off, etc), but we'll see about that.

  13. If we're applying the same settings to just ctf maps, or other types, I can easily write a little python hack or something that can generate these for you. However, I don't know if we can change the intel respawn time via map cfgs
  14. RE ctf crit boost, I agree that it's a steamroll mechanic. What CTF really needs in my opinion is a delayed respawn time for the intel, so the other team has time to recover. This combined with lowering it to 3 cap would probably be a nice change, and the crit boost would then be moot. I couldn't find any mods to duplicate this behavior though.

  16. Not to mention the vanishing sawblades. Or am I the only one who has that problem? Also, don't hesitate to add me or any of the other admins as friends on steam. I'm sure any of us would be happy to help if there's a need for an admin. also remember that there is voteban.
  17. For those with framerate issues due to weather effects and other particle systems, check out this thread Nucleus is terrible. Snipers can hide in the spawn room and still snipe fairly well. The spawn doors are too exposed and the primary exit is too easy to camp due to the opaque door. also class limits would only be imposed on sniper, and maybe spy, so engineer games wouldn't be affected. I honestly can't think of any scenario where more than 2 snipers would be credit to team. 2fort would be excluded from this. And yeah, I'd love to see a bit of arena in the rotation. I don't think one or two maps with a 10 minute duration would be an issue, but I leave that up for debate.
  18. You will never be muted, kicked, banned, or otherwise punished for not using your melee weapon. You may be kicked, temp-banned, muted, or otherwise punished for bitching at people for not using melee weapons. Also please tell me if you DO get votebanned/whatever for that reason, as said person will likely be taking a vacation from the ocr server. Also, playing fist heavy/anything else melee only in a serious game (ie anything but 2fort and possibly turtlebine) is a pretty dick thing to do to your team. It probably won't get you in trouble, but it'll probably make the rest of your team annoyed with you. I'm also considering re-instituting 2spy 2sniper limits on all maps but 2fort. 4 sniper offense on cp-steel makes for a sad medic.
  19. The end result will be (once djp adds some things to the site) a system that lets you search by meta info as well, such as artist, original song, etc. THings you can't easily do in a torrent. It's also a bit more direct and easier to use. Normal torrent clients will often still create files for parts you don't want; or create files for the trailing/leading files (since chunks overlap the individual file names unless torrents are padded). A few other things. regardless, it was requests and I wrote it. I don't expect everyone to find it useful. Fixing bad tags might be possible, but it'll prevent the client from seeding those patched files.

Real world conditions can make a significant different in airshots, stabs, and snipes. Most importantly, latency is a real factor that simply isn't replicated in a localhost situation.
