  1. I've revised the wording a bit NO Demo sticky camping opaque spawn doors, including primary spawn exits (i.e. shortcut door from red spawn on pl_badwater To further clarify, sticky camping other opaque doors is FINE. There is a bit of admin discretion here on what make a door a "primary spawn exit", but the general thing you should as yourself is "Is there any other route to get to me from spawn? Is it practical?" If your answer to this is "No" then go somewhere else.
  2. Yeah, I was equally impressed. They deserve some rest and a couple of beers for that performance. They were finished before the guys behind Mani Admin even knew it was broke:nicework:
  3. I fixed sourcemod, let me know if anything weird happens. reserved slots and stuff should be working now.
  4. I've had this urge to play Shattered Galaxy, but I'm too lazy to install it
  5. turbine with 5+ engies is a free win. Charge a couple ubers and it's a free cap, since half of their team will be busy rebuilding their sentries while you cap.
  6. I disagree. Both demo and soldier are classes that can be played well on offense or defense. Plus both are viable uber candidates. The reason we have imposed limits on engie, spy, and sniper in the past are due to these being classes that are only effective in certain situations. Personally, I'm not a fan of class caps. Sure, it can be annoying when your team of 4 snipers and 2 spies gets steamrolled, but it's just as fun rocking out of the gate in steel with nothing but scouts. I'd argue that the more we limit classes, the more "serious" we make the server, and hence the less fun it gets.
  7. Turtlebine intel room is easily held by a good demo or soldier. Assuming your offensive engies have something up in the middle, they should clean up anything you miss.
  8. Not a fan of the source, but kudos for actually getting legal permission. Easily the first time I've seen someone bother to do this.
  9. Even if you didn't delete the old one, it'd alter the filename and upload it under a new name. Are you sure you didn't accidentally upload the wrong file? Could also be that your browser is caching the file. It's usually better to just leave the old versions up though and progressively rename the file (v1, v2, v3 etc) so people can see the progression of your track. Don't worry, I've got plenty of space to spare at the moment
  10. Oh come now, if you can make it from spawn to the point without being backstabbed, headshot, or two shotted by a FaN scout, heavies are credit to team. A good heavy can still do a ton of damage though.
  11. http://fireslash.net/~fireslash/devel/Inertia.zip No xml search data yet (It just goes by filename, so you can search "chrono" for chrono trigger, but not "sixto" for all sixto mixes (unless he's listed in the filename, such as albums) Mac binaries are on hold due to some major issues with py2app and i386, but I can always float you python source if you're willing to compile boost and libtorrent-rasterbar on your own (If anyone has, or is willing to build these libs as universal and py2app it, let me know) Let me know if something breaks or does something weird. It should be stable... it will auto-seed anything you've downloaded as long as you don't move it, so you're helping others by keeping it open :3 Settings pane isn't implemented.
  12. Looks like I'll be going. I'm waiting for the CC to clear before I prereg but as long as plans don't fall apart, there will be plenty of FireSlash to go around.
  13. A lot of it is preference, but most people would argue that the main purpose of a cabinet it to replicate the arcade "feel" which is characterized primarily by the controls. Most would would simply softmod an old xbox if they just wanted emulation on a console controller. I'd cover the KB/Mouse shelf and yank them (put the inputs in the side for when you need them, but you shouldn't in normal circumstances), then install a nice arcade control setup as described above. But it's your project, if you prefer that setup, stick with it.
  14. Finances are a bit tight, so I'm hoping to hitch a ride with someone. I'm in Columbus, Ohio, and I'll happily chip in gas and other supplies, as well share driving if needed. FireSlash may also function as a mechanic, computer repair tool, or a flotation device in emergency situations
  15. Entry fee kind of sucks, but I'm planning on entering. Even if I don't win, it gets a lot of industry contacts looking at my work.
  16. ES's server is pretty fail. The ship combat feels pretty broken too, and the general combat is terrible. However, it's come to my attention that Tribes 2 is now free, which excelled in all of these. You can download it from http://tribesnext.com/ For those not familiar with the game, here's a quick youtube: The game features various vehicles, team play, various game modes, and large player counts. I think it could be fun for a night or two
  17. Bored lunch day ftw: I have an ES server up. I need to install a few more scripts and fix a minor issue, but it should be up by around 8 EST if not earlier. so anyone who want's to check it out, we now have a private server.
  18. Garian brought up in IRC the idea of playing some other team based source mods. Eternal Silence - A team based space shooter. It has some varying ship types, game modes, etc. Dystopia - Cyberpunk style shooter. let me know and I'll toss up a server for one.
  19. ehhh... garbage day is fun now and then, but in any regularity it's terrible. I was getting burnt out near the end as it was
  20. Style is more reminiscent of Heavy Gear, but I'd embrace either. Or Starsiege
  21. I've recently discovered just how facesmashingly awesome a good 1v1 can be, so if anyone's interested, hit me up on IRC or Steam (ID: FireSlash) Fair warning that I've only played two real matches (ie not against AI), so I'm not that good yet:tomatoface:
