I've done some reasearch on http://www.multiplaygameservers.com/ and it looks like we are going to give it a shot. We're going to try a one month deal with them and we will try it out and see how it goes. Customer reviews seem to be rather favourable. I wish they had a more clear listing of their stats as, "Unlike many other GSP's Multiplay own and operate their own network, to help keep your pings as low as possible and give you the very best online gaming experience." isn't exactly enough technical information as I'd like.

I don't know if Crowbar Man worded himself well, but he is offering to absorb the cost and buy one of those packages on Multiplay for us. Now, if you have an extra dollar or something to throw his way at any time, it would sure be swell of you. The only problem I see is that we will have to start over. I don't know if Fireslash has a backup we could have or if that is even possible.

When it all comes down to it, it would be nice if, you could just ask, "Hey mister, could you please stop calling me a fag? " and the person would be "Oh okay, you were acting dumb and it made me mad, but since you asked, I will stop. I'm sorry" and the other guy would reply, "That's okay. I'm sorry if I"m not doing so well, could you tell me what I was doing wrong?" ect. Yeah, that's the cotton candy doesn't-exist world, but still. I don't want people banned for cursing, I just want them to stop when I vocalize my annoyance on the matter. In the end, it's all about just having respect for your fellow man. I'd go on to say I don't want anyone to be censored, but then I'd be a hypocrite for not wanting people to yell and curse at me. Maybe I need a thicker skin.

I won't name names, but the person has been banned/reprimanded multiple times, so they are known to be a trouble maker It doesn't really seem like the swearing issue I talked about is against the rules in particular. From all the times I can recollect, it is saying the f-word to someone that supposedly isn't doing the great job they are expected to be doing (ex: "Get on the f-ing cart", "BLU team is f-ing retarded" ect) It's also said in retaliation to questioning their sportsmanship, such as what I experienced recently which prompted me to make my post. Such language and disrespect (from someone who many have witnessed resorting to dirty tricks and tactics and out-right abuse of glitches and bugs to cause performance issues to other users and to do anything possible for the sole purpose of them winning the game) is totally out of place for OCR, which is filled with many nice and considerate people. So many people on OCR are familiar with each other and doing such things shows complete lack of respect for others. It could be that I'm just being overly sensitive on the matter. Some of the things I have noticed the person doing has made me really lose respect for them and so I am overly critical of anything they do.

I see people get banned for swearing, just out of curiosity, what amounts of swearing constitutes to a ban? There is one person in particular that I constantly see tossing the f-word at people.

Halo Reach? Is that why the server has been quiet? I've had terrible issues with my internet disconnecting every two minutes for the last month. It's maddening.

I don't quite understand the sexism sentiment. Granted, I'm not very far into the game, however, so far it seems as though they are doing a nice job of showing Samus as a person. It seems to be indicating that she feels conflicted as shown in the beginning where she both relishes and hates being called "lady". I feel that the FMVs are down right silly in their execution though. I respect their try, but it is very awkward.

I was on a server once that had this forced auto-balance, it was actually very nice.

In, "Night of the Raving Dead" was there any reference to TF2? I could have sworn they were referencing the Medic a couple of times, as you travel to Stuttgart, Germany and eventually find a bone saw. I think there are other things too, but my terrible memory will not allow me to remember.

What's depressing is, it is things like this that always -in the back of my head- make me doubt the true skill of good players.

I do this too. It's a bad habit though because my mouse wheel isn't very tight, so sometimes it will flick back to a weapon I don't want.

I don't quite understand what you are saying here. When you say "our" server, do you mean OCR? OCR is a pub server, right? It's open to the public and as such is a public server. Edit: Well what I said was already stated on this page. You really can't say "X pub server is better then Y pub server" because they are public servers, they get different people all the time.

I don't know if it is just me (I've heard others complain), but the server gets really laggy anytime the server goes over a certain threshold. If the server is full it's pretty bad.

Think now though, how much harder it is to correctly aim the medics syringe stream than it is to set someone on fire with a huge stream of flames.

I want that hat I'd be all for playing the game with fake lag.

I am eagerly looking forward to playing this game, but I have low expectations of it. The Sonic games I know have long since vanished and were a product of a specific time and a specific set of peoples. Even if you brought all the people who worked on Sonic 1 through S&K together, it still wouldn't be the same, as this is a different time.

Why do we need lists and scripts for things? Why can't people just SEE that they are imbalancing the teams and just make a conscious decision to move to the other side? I know that sometimes the teams are full and you can't switch sides, in that case, you could simply talk with everyone on the server and come to a resolution. I've seen it done before, problem is, most people just sit on a team that completely steam rolls another because they are getting easy points, easy kills, easy win. As far as "Well my buddy is on this team!" You can still be friends with someone and play on the opposite side! As for map rotation constantly changing, just play. I get tired of maps too, but I just play them, they are over soon enough.

That's a sweet idea. We might not view such things as favorable, but sometimes certain people need these things. I'm all for such things as long as they harm no one.
