  1. Just finished recording the newest part, and it's not a bad performance for sight reading. Let me know what you think. http://zazmusic.bandcamp.com/album/night-piece
  2. Bumping this
  3. The record player thing isn't actually an effect - a lot of the beat is made up of samples from an old 7". That also explains why there isn't a lot of high end - I was trying to meld it in with the rest of the sound. The idea with this mix is that it's a weird 45 you stumble on while digging, but I can definitely see why it wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea, and your reactions are totally valid. I really doubt it'll be accepted by the judges, but I can hope.
  4. My last submission was almost five years ago, and it was an orchestral remix of a Zelda tune. I decided to do something similar for this remix. http://tindeck.com/listen/zhez
  5. Certainly, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Here are another piece in a similar, but much more traditionally romantic vein: http://zas.illemonati.com/cellopiece-01.mp3
  6. http://zazmusic.bandcamp.mu/track/5-piece-for-3-flutes-and-piano - just had this recorded at university, with three excellent flute players who are basically sight reading. Also includes the world's greatest instrument, the alto flute. There's also this: http://zazmusic.bandcamp.mu/track/untitled , which is very unrelated, but I feel like it needs some work in the mixing and mastering, and as I'm very new to that field, I'd love some advice.
  7. Fantastic. To come back after 4 years and post something as good as the best stuff you've done in the past is quite an achievement. I highly advise anyone who likes this to check out Shugo Tokumaru. This sounds a lot like him
  8. Thanks, but I'm unfamiliar with that game. Thanks, I always appreciate your feedback. I'll have to check out Unanswered Question, I haven't listened to Ives much past a few of his well known things. Where are some of these nature moments in Mahler? I'd be interested in hearing those as well. Did you get any cheesy-jazz chord vibe in what's there already? At one point when working on it, I messed around with making the texture more modern and dissonant but I didn't have much luck with that path.
  9. It could be, I haven't really settled on anything yet.
  10. Anyone on board yet for the Haunted Merry-go-round? If not, I'll take it.
  11. I'll take Andross if no one else wants it.
  12. I did mine in Sibelius so if anyone wants the sheet music that's cool. I don't know why anyone would though, I like it less and less everyday
  13. People who are easily bored would do best to click back So here's the deal: I've got two very different versions of this iconic tune kicking around in my head right now, and in addition to providing general feedback about both, I'd appreciate it if you told me which of these two you preferred. So. Here we go: Zelda's Lullaby 1 - Romantic, Chromatic, Lush (trying to be anyway) Zelda's Lullaby 2 - Meandering, Impressionistic, Block Textures Also keep in mind that neither are finished, and they both kind of trail off at the end.
  14. Great advice as always. Louder trombones I can do, but a good timpani has been my holy grail for forever. Yeah, I'm very interested in this SAM timpani you're talking about, maybe you could upload it somewhere if the file size is reasonable?
  15. bump, I could use some more feedback before I go in for the final tinkerings
  16. Thanks for the feedback! I do agree that it starts off slow, especially compared to what comes after, but I dunno, I think it's just a matter of taste as far as whether it detracts from the quality of the whole. And yeah, something's not quite right with the orchestra sound - something that sounds like it'd be infuriatingly easy to fix, but I'm using a new set of samples, so I think it'll take some more experience before I can fine tune it. Even something as simple as raising the timpani volume can change the mix in strange ways, when dealing with something as dense as an orchestra. Still, this isn't the final mixdown yet, and I'm still tinkering with it as we speak.
  17. Click here It's got the Sun's Song, very slight hints of Jabu Jabu's theme, Ganon's Theme, the Temple of Time music, the LoZ Overworld music, and the music that accompanies the door of time opening. Starts off a bit slow, but I'm very happy with this one. Hope you enjoy!
  18. The arrangement's spectacular, and these are some of the best string samples I've ever heard. The only thing that really gives it away are some of the portamentos in the middle section
  19. Thanks! Bumping so that a few more people can check this out
  20. It doesn't really have one, but you could call it Cello Sonata, Mov. 1, Andante if it tickles your fancy. It's not really a sonata, but what the hell, it sounds nice.
  21. http://zas.illemonati.com/cellopiece-01.mp3 It was basically sight read in the recording studio, so hopefully you can forgive the mistakes.
  22. Actually, yeah, when I started this mix I had terrible woodwind samples, so I was hesitant to use the woodwinds much. But actually, one of my favorite moments, sample wise, is a woodwind chord in the Death Mountain section, after the Brass/Harp bit. You can definitley expect to see more in the next installment.
  23. Well, my first remix on the site included music from three Zelda games, so it should be fine.
