There is nothing particular to say about the inspiration on this remix, I just love the original Martin Iveson's tune and I wanted to make my own remix of Moody Breeze... I really hope you'll like it. To remix the song I used my Yamaha CS2X synth, a Sound Blaster Audigy audio card, an audio editor and a sequencer program.
  2. Remixer Name: NoWave Real Name: Stewart Griffin Email Address: nowave@gmail.com Name of Game: Perfect Dark Name of Individual Song: Chicago Stealth I have so far submitted one classical piece and quite a few industrial pieces. This therefore will probably be mightily unexpected. This is a song done in a post rock style with live guitar with quite dub style intrumentation in the background. As with all post rock, the intention is to be quite cinematic, to take the listener away to another place. I hope it succeeds in this aim.

I just wanted to see what y'all, particularly Larry, have to say about it. This mix is actually for OL's Sooper Mareo Wurld project. It's kooky, changes often and could at least be called a guilty pleasure... I hope. Enjoy, at your own risk
  6. Email sub file Final Fantasy VII Avalanche Cometh! OC ReMix.mp3 Remixer: Eleminoh P. Real Name: Ronnie M. Whitacre Song Remixed: Opening/Bombing Mission from Final Fantasy VII After my last experimental song was rejected, i decided to go back to what i feel i do best, orchestral arrangements. I was inspired after participating in the Indiana All State band where we played a song called Tempered Steel. So, i picked this already great song and created a powerful orchestral arrangement that i think kicks ass. 7. Hello. I'm writing to submit an arrangement/remix of mine called "Reminiscence of Feelings." This orchestral piece is loosely based off of my arrangement of Chrono Cross's "Sang of Feeling" (aka "He Sang of Feeling") from the first edition of a certain Yasunori Mitsuda Tribute album. It's been a little while since my last submission to OCR, and much has happened in my life since that time. If it should be posted to OCR, I'd like to dedicate this arrangement to my family, for all they've done for me over the past year. My own comments: Okay, this may be somewhat long, but I feel important to describe how I came about this project. To start, I will admit that this may not strictly follow your guidelines. I didn't take the ACTUAL game music, but merely re-wrote a base line (by ear) and then symphonized the song. The song sounds VERY similar to the actual music, but it has my own twist of creation in it. Here were my steps to creating the song: 1) Got the Game FFX-2 and FF1. Listened to the song and found free, re-created midi formats to put on my ipod. 2) Listen until I nearly got sick of the song and memorized most of it. 3) Re-compose using a program called Reason. In reason, a layer based program, I had separate instruments and layers for each song in the mix. Prelude: 1x Harp, 3x String (different patches), 2x Flute (different patches). By patch, I mean one midi instrument sound. All music was played by me onto a keyboard into reason. Touch-ups in Reason include: 1) Reverb buffer that makes it sound softer. 2) Reverb specifically modded to sound like a stage. 3) Input Panning for the Harp. Notice how the sound slightly alters speakers as it goes up and down the scales. Later automated. Finally, in Pro-tools, I used another Reverb tool specifically made for Muffling the peak sounds and making the different instruments alter sound levels mid-song. Eternity: This song is my favorite of the two. It includes: 2x Piano (One deeper, one lighter patch), 3x String patches (all different), 2x Flute patches (different). I also used the same reverb tools, but no panning was added, and made it sound like a hallway performance. In Pro-tools, the same effects were used. Time put into this mix: Approx 20 hours. Maybe more? Other tid-bits? I hope this is accepted, and I sure had fun creating this. Enjoy it! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Talk is cheap. One year and many projects later, I got the funny idea to see how much I've improved... plus I managed to include the theme song from mgs3. My inspiration for this one is once again, fighting. A heroic build up, the pre battle-meditation, remembering why he fights, and then the fight, a setback, gathering the strength to stand up again, and then finally the victory. I don’t think I’ve ever spent so much time and experimented to so much to learn and discover new aspects to arranging before. But it's worth a try. I felt through out all the Final Fantasy series soundtracks, This piece was the only one that made the hair on the back of my neck stand on end. Goose bumps and the whole shibang! I first wanted to learn some of it on guitar, and then one thing led to another, and I was devoting days to trying to make my own remake of it. I just wanted to present it in a different genre, to reach out more to the metal core punk listeners out there. After recording the guitar. I added random pauses where there should have been feedback, made the guitar sound un-natural, but also I felt it sounded more industrial. All other instruments were done by Fruity Loops (Drum machine) and my midi keyboard (For the piano, pad, bass, and osc keys) I managed to layer a couple of the guitar riffs quite nicely after about a bajillion tries. I intended the song to sound like madness. I heard about OC remix through a couple friends after they heard my remix, They urged me to at least try. I understand the critictism that is involved with this type of establishment, I mean, you guys aren't idiots. If something sucks, it sucks. So, judge away my tasteful friends! Peace out and have a wonderful day! -Myke D from 4 Keys PS- This is my first time submitting anything to anyone, are some other rules or information I should know that may not have been in the submitting instructions.

  22. email sub file Tyrant on Four Legs.mp3 LT Edit - Original Decision: http://www.ocremix.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=82347 Remixer Name: Creative ImPulse Real Name: Ruslan Bedoyan Email: egobrainman@yahoo.com Website: www.myspace.com/creativeimpulse Game Remixed: Metroid Prime 2: Echoes Song Remixed: Quadraxis Theme Additional Information: System - Gamecube; Licensed by Nintendo; Produced by Retro Studios; Comments: I had made a remix of this theme before, (and failed at getting it submitted) but I knew it needed to be better. I decided to go for adding more strings than originally used, use compressors to ensure that the sounds both a) didn't drown out each other, and the song didn't create immense feedback and distortion from just plain bad sequencing. As for inspiration, I wanted to retain the electronic feel to the compositions of the Metroid Prime soundtracks, yet add touches of my own favorite genres. The bridge section, before leading into the high augmented chords, with the guitars and the drums and the strings and the music, was completely on my own accord (allowing me to truly digress from just a simple arrangement). That particular section is inspired by my love for the music of Cirque du Soleil, and it really helped with the transitions I came up with later. Another thing to note: I've noticed that, in the Metroid Prime series, much of the music that Kenji Yamamoto wrote was either meant for background ambience, or just simple progressions and loopings. The fact that he mostly uses chords for his boss themes makes it harder for me, because I knew that I'd be in trouble with just chord progressions; it just doesn't move the song forward. Thus, I wrote a melody line to accompany it. Even with all of the changes, I feel I managed to retain the Metroid feel, with the ambience in the introduction and the random mechanical noises that really make you think you're in Sanctuary Fortress. Imagine this song is an entire soundtrack to the process of getting all three Dark Keys, fighting Quadraxis, and receiving the Annihilator Beam. I know I do.

  24. Hi Dave! Hi Judge's Panel! Long time no see! Hope everyone is well and dandy! Ok, lets get down to brass tax. I'd like to submit a remix called Ghosts of Shadow Moses, from Metal Gear Solid for Playstation. The song remixed is called Discovery, its a song that I hardly even remember from the game, despite having beaten the game well over 40 times, but its on the soundtrack. Both the remix and the original can be found in MM I put alot alot of work into this mix cause I really didn't want to submit something again until I really thought it had a chance. This was written in Reason 3.0.4 using pretty much a bunch of subtractors, and alot of time. I've always liked Discovery ever since I rediscovered it on the OST, and I thought it would work well as some sort of an arpped trance lead, which as you will hear, I converted it into. I know that things that are highly repatitious usually dont make it onto the site, but please keep in mind that I've tried to keep it on par with major trance construction principles, with proper intro and outro and such, to make mixing easier. I didn't take it to the extreme this time, but its still noticable. Anyways... I hope that you enjoy it, whether or not its OCR material or not! and also: My remixer name is Siamey My real name is Heath Morris My email address is djsiamey@hotmail.com (although im using my site's account to send this one) My website is http://www.siamey.com My userid would be 10956 I guess Thanks for your time, see ya on the boards.
