  1. You can't have it both ways - there's criticism that pointing out that she's a "she" is unnecessary and that it'll bring unwanted attention, but the point was that girls should feel comfortable submitting stuff, and if that's the case, why should it cause any harm? The argument that females should try to conceal their status or that it should be ignored is less egalitarian and more protective, which are in this case rather contradictory goals; you've got to be okay with who you are, and okay with people pointing that out, in order for things to be truly cool. Boys will always play sad stalker games whether I mention that mixers are females or they find out themselves, through the *amazing* power of "pronoun usage observation"; this site is not about catering to the lowest common denominator or playing the reverse psychology game. I haven't done those things in the past and I'm not about to start. This is a worthwhile conversation, but LuIzA's put together a kickass mix, so let's try to focus on that - I felt the need to respond personally since the writeup is my own, but if you've got a beef with it, just pretend like it doesn't exist and write about the music instead.
  2. I'd have to speak with Chris about actually stocking them in the store - I honestly don't know if he's put any there, or is willing to. One other option would just be picking one up at Magfest in January - we're going to have a dealer's booth. If neither of those work, PM me and we'll work something else out.
  3. I'll work on getting dimensions + info on preshrunk, etc. added to the item descriptions; not sure if I have that info myself, but the printer should be able to provide it. As for restocking the medium hoodies and ordering some smalls, I need to wait until most of the cost of the initial order is recouped before placing another order, as right now OCR is VERY low on $$$.
  4. Official OverClocked ReMix shirts and hoodies are once again available and are now shipping from eStarland (www.estarland.com), an online retailer of domestic and imported games as well as anime, that happens to be headquartered ten minutes away from my home. Without further adieu, the link to buy OCR shirts & hoodies online is: http://www.estarland.com/showban.asp?action=redir&campaign=163 Profits from each sale go towards supporting hosting costs and printing more shirts when we run out - it's a great way of supporting the site and lookin' fantastic while doing it. Note that sometimes due to caching the link above may need to be refreshed or clicked twice to get results to appear. Also, eStarland are currently troubleshooting some problems related to the overall speed of their website, so have patience - things may take a few seconds to load. International shipping is provided. When ordering using a credit card, if your shipping address is different from your billing address, there's a verification process that will delay your order, so try to avoid that if possible. For those curious, I've been a customer of Starland since 1996, back before they had a fully-developed website, when I would rent anime and buy import games from their over-the-counter store in Annandale, Virginia. Back then I'd talk to Chris, the owner, every once in awhile, and I always thought it was cool how the owner of the store was into games and anime as well. He's actually really into old-school 8-bit and 16-bit games in particular, which tends to jive well with what OverClocked ReMix is all about. When we left ZTNET, I needed a new way to print and sell shirts & hoodies. Larry did some research and came up with http://www.fairfaxscreenprinting.com, and that worked out very well in terms of both quality and proximity to where I live, but I still needed a way to sell & ship the shirts via an ecommerce frontend. Handling domestic and international shipping out of my living room didn't sound like a great idea, and then it struck me that Starland - specifically their web presence, eStarland.com - would be a perfect partner in this regard. I met with Chris and we both agreed it made a lot of sense, and things fell into place. It might take awhile to iron out all aspects of the process, but I believe this partnership and new method of selling OCR merchandise will work out well. If you're buying a shirt or hoodie, take the time to check out what else they have to offer - I bought Sonic Rush for my DS a couple weeks ago and the price and shipping were both solid. If you have questions or comments specific to an order you've placed or payment/shipping details, please contact eStarland via their website. If you have questions or comments that have to do with the merchandise or other topics not directly related to eStarland's end of things, please ask them here. Thanks for supporting OverClocked ReMix and eStarland!
  5. Shirts have been printed; I'll be picking them up tomorrow night, dropping them off at eStarland HQ Thursday night, hopefully they'll be available this weekend, if all goes well. I'm locking this thread as it's no longer urgent that we get size/distribution information; we'll base future restock orders on how well this initial batch sells. Thanks for all the info; there'll be a brand new thread created when the shirts are available for sale.
  6. This is an announcement... about announcements. For the last six years, we've covered large site-related news & updates by either embedding them into ReMix writeups or sending mass emails via our forums. While I'll still be talking about what's going on with OCR in mix writeups as per usual, for archival purposes and to simply clarify and organize important site news, we've created an announcements forum, the most recent posts of which will appear on our homepage. Please ensure that any comments made are specific to the announcement in question. Hopefully this will be an effective and improved way of letting visitors know about new features, important changes to site policy, and other cool stuffs afoot at OC ReMix.
  7. Frankly, I'm sold: I'm firing the panel and abdicating all mix selection responsibilities to GLL. He not only knows how to "make electronica sound good", but he's formed a cogent argument here that I consider unassailable.
  8. A co-worker pointed out to me this morning that OCR is "Link of the Day" over at well-known comic strip User Friendly - pretty good strip today, as well I'm a little curious as to what I was SUPPOSED to be spending my youth on, if not the glory of the 8- and 16-bit eras, but we're grateful for the appreciation & coverage nonetheless. A hearty, robust AND zesty welcome to any first-time viewers coming our way from said site - the more the merrier.
  9. I can see what's purchased, but not by whom, unless they inform me they placed an order on a specific day and give further details if disambiguation from other orders is necessary, both of which in this case were provided.
  10. Indeed - quite a few microphones there, yo! $70 for us, really - I'm keeping extremely close watch on every last penny that comes in via donations, ads, or affiliate programs, and everything is being used for purposes directly related to OverClocked ReMix. THANKS.
