this reminds me a bit of steely dan, in a good way, but I'd need to hear the original again - djp Submission: Light tango-rock remix from the juicy 'Moon Over The Castle'. Contact info Remixer name: JDB Entertainment Real name: Jan De Bruyn Email adress: jandebruyn@telenet.be Forum userid: Can't find it (JDB Entertainment) ReMix info Name of game remixed: Metal Gear Solid 2 Name of song remixed: Main Theme Link to remix: General comments This being my first remix, I am happy that I may finally add something to OC ReMix, if the judges decide my work is good enough to be put on the site. I know quite a few people here in Belgium who visit OC ReMix regulary, although none of them has any music-making capabilities. It would be nice to see their surprised faces as they see a remix, made by me, on the site! Comments about the ReMix The MGS main theme is a great theme, although I couldn't find any dance/trance remix of it on the site. Using a lot of paper and pencils (to write the notes down, and also some ideas), I managed to put together a song I really liked listening to. After showing it to my brother, I decided to submit it because he loved it. It may not be very deep, but it certainly makes my body move... PS: Keep up the good work, OC ReMix is a brilliant idea/site!

Remixer name - Atmozpheryc Real name - Jared Hooton email - toastman__@hotmail.com website - www.mixposure.com/atmozpheryc USERID - I have no idea how to find this. My username is Toastman, but I looked for an ID and didn't find any. Game remixed - Kraken theme from Earthbound System - SNES Remix title - Krakonica iTunes doesnt let you input every ID3 tag that you ask for so I didn't know what to do after I filled what I could. I've been making my own music for several years now but have always found it difficult to remix others music. I guess once I hear the original it's hard for me to change it up if I like it. This is my first remix that I would consider worthy of being posted here so I decided to give it a whirl. This is a kind of eclectic song because it has many different types of moods in it that blend together. Hopefully people like it and give me some feedback. I wouldn't consider this as good a production as some of my original works but like I said, its hard for me to break into remixing. Hopefully I can get some others going and improve as that is the main goal, to keep getting better.

How are you gentlemen !! If you can't find the soundtrack (good luck), here's my working file from the game: I had been wanting to mock the "Video game violence are bad lol!" Jack Thompson crowd for some time when this track presented me with the opportunity. The game deals with artificial life forms which are fighting to save their artificial world from viruses--hence the exact opposite of what most people consider a violent game even though the storyline is very immersive and takes place in a violent wartime atmosphere. -steve

F-Zero meets Dave Brubeck? Nice concept, truly, but... major drum problems, or just me? - djp Game: F-Zero Remixers: Koelsch1, Rexy Song: La Ville aux Sourdine I first started working on this back in August when I was playing around with the Mute City theam on an organ. Then a few days later I re-wrote it in a dance style for a jazz quartet. I changed up all the chord progressions a lot. It used to have a really dissonent intro and ending, but Rexy didnt like the chords so she did something completly different. The sax tone is pretty different than my past stuff. And Rexy seems to have gotten rid of the recording static. I have since also found a way to get rid of it. I wanted to call it "La Ville aux Sourdine" but Rexy said it would sound stupid since "Sourdine" reffers to an actual muteing device, such as a trumpet mute. So she named it "La Ville du Silence" But this confused people since there is already another track on F-Zero called Silence. _________________________________________________________________ On the road to retirement? Hey there! You may have a duplicate of this message, but I was not given any notification of the receipt.. so I’m resending the email in case. Anyway, I have just completed my take on the music from Alex Kidd I.M.W, and the link should be found further down the page. The main difference between the original and my own is the bar extension, each part now runs over two bars… with the main melody simplified with a more euphoric slant. Wishing to keep with the bouncy cheesy aspect, I chose to go with a mid 90s style, dance pianos “dum-di-di” basses and such… and whilst these would initially ring alarm bells, I’ve worked at them to ensure a pleasing outcome rather than a shoddy one. I hope the remix is at the standard you wish for the site, and I believe the bouncy dance style befits the original track nicely. The link to the track (uploading courtesy of my mate James, and yes I spelt it wrong in the URL) is: Thanks for listening! Sean Craddock (aka.OCReMixer… “Procyon” (sean@twunted.com)

Contact Info Your ReMixer name: Elentor Your real name: Fernando Pires Your email address: elentor@gmail.com ReMix Info Name of game(s) ReMixed: Final Fantasy VI Name of individual song(s) ReMixed: Shadow's Theme Name of remix: Shadow Hearts Your own comments about the mix, for example the inspiration behind it, how it was made, etc. Sent this a while ago (almost a year) but I never saw it on the panel... believe it fell into nothingness... so I'm sending it again. It's a Shadow's Theme Remix (FF6). It's a little non-linear and I played a lot with the original sound, added parts etc, because the original tune is too linear and repetitive. The music can be downloaded here: It's not as professional as it could be, but I'm a 3D Artist, not a professional composer I hope you people enjoy anyway...

Attempt #7 Artist: Skrypnyk Real Name: Andrew Skrypnyk E-mail: DjSkrypnyk@hotmail.com Website: http://www.soundclick.com/skrypnyk UserID: 10626 Game: Killer Instinct Title: Never Cry Wolf Link: (I'd recommend someone uploading it somewhere else =\) Ok, so I've been listening to quote unquote Ambient Electronic latly, and I've been getting into it more and more. Some people, 3 to be exact (so far) have compared the music to Linkin Park - Session. I would like to say for the record, that that song has had no influence on any of the songs I've done so far. I will say it is a good song, but the groups I have been listening to would be Boards of Canada and Cex.....not Linkin Park....just thought I would make that clear. Now about the song, pretty experimental if you ask me. Most people consider this 'glitch' music because of the drumbeat, though I wouldn't say it exactly is. Glitch is more synthetic, more clicking/cutting etc. It moves from ambient sounds to more of a orchestral thing sooo, I wouldn't really classify this in a genre. Though if you want to call it IDM, go right ahead =) The guitar part at the end was originally played by a friend of mine (Matt Mooney), and he did play it, and he did play it well. However, my recording equipment really really sucks, so I couldn't use what he played =( . However, I managed to take the melody he played, throw it in the best soundfont I could find, and make it as realistic as possible. Changed it up a little as well. So yeah, if y'all like it, then cool. If not, I'll try a re-sub I guess and if that doesn't work, THEN SCREW YOU JDGFGT MEANNIES!!!!!

The game was for the NES and was made by Asmik. Link to Sound Archive (.NSF): http://www.zophar.net/nsf/conqcry.zip -- My Comments: Not bad... not bad at all for my first mix. I was just fiddling around one day through fits of boredom and I decided to play Conquest of the Crystal Palace -- little do I know that I end up playing it for about 3 hours. Conctact Info: Blue Magic Damon Campbell email: bluemagic1984@bellsouth.net website: http://www.angelfire.com/blues2/bluemagic/ Remix Info: Sonic and Knuckles Lava Reef / Hidden Palace Zone Comments: Its been a long time coming... This was suppose to be a collab, but things didn't go as planned. But its all good. I've been working on this for a little while now, and it finally done. This is a remix of Lava Reef/ Hidden Palace Zone from the Sonic and Knuckles soundtrack. It is sort of similar to my "New Beginnings" mix (with the mother nature sound FX and all), but in my opinion, it is a bit more upbeat and jazzy. Enjoy

Heya, Got a new submission here (obviously) from Guardian Legend. This one's been sitting around on my hard drive for a few months, and I kept forgetting to submit it, but here it is finally. Worked on it around the same time I worked on "Catapult," but it's completely different. Heavily Ace of Base inspired--thus the name--so I made sure to include a thick synth bass and some punchy drums. Just for the record, the vocal sample is NOT me, and it's saying "I make ya feel oh so fine." Had enough confusion about that with other people that I felt I should mention it. It's taken me FOREVER to make a Guardian Legend remix that I'm satisfied with, since the music from the game is just so perfect to begin with. It's my all-time favorite NES game, so I didn't want to fuck it up. Tried many times, failed many times. But this one works. Enjoy. -Dain

Uhm, hello, the name is El Coatl and I'm quite new at OcRemix (ID 19978, if that is of any importance ) ... I just wanted to submit a remix (Now who'd have guessed that?) ... My first one, by the way. It is based on the BGM of the Level "Port Of Adia" of the N64-Game "Turok 2" ... I see there's one more remix of this game, so there is no further need to bother you with more Information about it (the game), I guess. It does not stick very close to the original in its way of instrumentation and composition, but I would be lying if I told you that it was meant to do... Actually, I wanted to create a kind of new dramatic feeling with a touch of "scratchy-synth-guitar-coolness" that's been missing in the original soundtrack. The Remix was meant to sound darker an more "evil" than the original did. I added passages of relaxation to make it more complex, and the outro-part is something I like very much about this piece... Ambient, in the way I always wanted to do this ... And before I forget, here is the link: Just a bit of additional info... Email-Address: dracophilia@hotmail.com Website: www.elcoatl.firepaw.com Uhm, please excuse my (maybe) "strange" english, I'm from Germany.

So i've always wanted to do a remix but didn't think I could improve on it. Although this song does deviate from the original style of the music it's my interpretation of another way to hear the song, it took me 6 months to finish and there are vocal samples in it from myself. I hope you guys enjoy the song. MP3: http://forome.net/snooper_1989/HALO2/Snooper_1989_-_The_Experiment(OCRSubmit).mp3 ~Snooper_1989~ [Link to ReMix left up by artists request.]

:This is a Re-Send, I didn't get the confirmation email: Hey David, got another submission for OCR. Remixer name: Darangen Real Name: Michael Boyd Email: darangen@hotmail.com Website: www.darangen.com Name of game: Final Fantasy 1 Name of Song: Chaos Temple Comments: RPGamer.com has held a competition "Splendid Performance", where a challenge was to give a theme a new feeling and/or meaning. So I took the Chaos Temple theme, which usually made me feel weighed down and fighting an uphill battle, and made it into a cheerful, liberated feeling. Something that would go great with the ending credits of the game. I know I've covered the Chaos Temple theme before, but hey, it's the chaos temple!!! Hope you enjoy it, -Darangen
