Roe : You know me, I've failed so much, maybe I'll fail again. But it's not about failing it's about telling shnabubula he's dirty theory scum am I right?!!? Haha just kidding, love you shna really do . Unlike my other mixes, and Gray telling me there's a 3 week gap between submissions (I didnt know this!) I thought for christ sake, I really wanna get on this damn hateful site. I spent a good week on this, by this meaning lots of breaks and then adding on, I wanted to take my time and be more careful. Hopefully that shows. I wanted to go on my strengths aswell, doing what I do in original works alot. I'm very pleased with this song overall, I loved making it too. Whilst being in tier 1 on vgmix, this is my first tier1 release im actually proud to have on there. So, little description of the mix. It's a heartful acoustic ballad of my favourite song from Chrono Cross "Dream of the Shore Near Another World" in a different key, with a key change mid song. Has some really nice powerful piano parts, with a sweet violin pulling most of the melody off. Guitars are doing the same chords from the source, whilst not being my best strumming sequences, I feel they fit well. This lot backed up with some almost emotional drumming, and lined with some strong strings have come to make a very thoughtful and emotional mix. One other thing, I always keep laughing at 4:31, the toms sound like someone falling unconscious it's great. I've said too damn much now, okay just hopefully this is my time.

LT Edit - Original decision: http://www.ocremix.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=58586 metaphist aka Paul Ford peford@cfl.rr.com http://www.arcane-d.com Final Fantasy XI Rolanberry Fields theme "Rolan Deep" I tried to address as many of the issues as I could. - shortened the length by about a minute to keep the mix from dragging - varied up the bassline for the intro and the middle section, and also changed the sample (it's clearer and takes up less low end) - remastered the levels and some EQ - the drums are a little less prominent - the horns were toned down and redone - added a slight instance of electric piano help strengthen the lead - the birds are less obtrusive, but used a little more Hope you enjoy it and find it an improvement over the first.

Hey djp, Here we have yet another piano waltz. I'm trying to stick with something I know every once in a while, because heaven forbid someone else take my "king o' olde stile waltzes" crown from me. I wrote this one for the first audition of the rpgamer.com competition going on right now, and I was DESTROYED. It didn't fare too well on vgmix either. Nevertheless, after numerous listen-throughs, I think the remix is a good one personally. It is based on the Waltz of the Moon track from FFVIII again (same as Moontang). This one is much more recognizable if you've ever listened to the original. Uh, that's about it. One of the more interesting mix explanations I've seen - djp Link to the remix: Remixer name(s): Näsan & Danneman Real names: Fredrik Näslund, Daniel Öman Game remixed: Lemmings Remixed song: Just Dig! (Song 3 In the SID archive) Own comments: The song title "Ba' Gräv!" is the swedish interpretation of the original title "Just Dig!". The inspiration for this track came to us one day when we where spaced out from eating a really bad kebab pizza. While on this new found high, we decided to put our musical abilites together to create this remix of epic proportions. Näsan's mother being of Jämtlandsk descent was fed fried lemmings as a child, so the choice of game to remix came quite natural to us. Also, Danneman wears blue pj's at night. Guitars by Danneman and Arrangement by Näsan (and an annoying, meddling Danneman)

Hey OCR’s!!! I am back with a Brand New ReMix, from Donkey Kong Country 2. I hope this one can pass without problems, after that big struggle with my Sonic Mix hahaha =) ReMixer name: Red Tailed Fox Song Name: Wood’s Motel Here is The Link: Or the VGMix Link: OBS: There’s some slight difference in the volume of the lead flute, but you can choose to download whatever version (although I recommend the one that is NOT on VGMix). Some words: So you thought it was all about saving the big monkey, right? =) I am back with a new ReMix, this time from DKC 2. I’ve never been a fan of the game, but I can’t deny the soundtrack is awesomely inspiring. Some of you may notice that my 3 other mixes are from games starting with the letter “S”. I am glad I managed to ReMix a song from a game that started with a different letter hahah. The feeling that I managed to bring up here is a combination of an airy relaxing jazzy vibe, with hip hop drums, basslines and synths. I hope everyone can enjoy it! Special Thanks to Luiza and Phill (Tepid) for being both main adviser and main inspiration. In that order. Cheers… RTF PS: A cookie for the person who guess what melody the piano plays in the last seconds of the song!

Email sub file: Metroid Rebirth (Brinstar Theme) OC ReMix.mp3 ReMixer Name: BladeForever Real Name: Justin Swicegood Game ReMixed: The Original Metroid Song: Brinstar Theme Could you guys please post your reviews on the site? Thanks. First off, I do want to apologize that I had to send you the song as an attatchment. I had no other choice. I used FL Studio to make this Mix. I was inspired to arrange the Brinstar Theme because whenever I would hear the chord progression in the Original, I could always hear other possibilities in my head while keeping the same overall feel. A lot of people have Mixed this song before, so I wanted to see if I could branch out and make something original. I chose the name Rebirth because I want people to feel as though this song means "peace has finally come". It's an ambient, orchestral piece with strings, timpanis, and choirs. I added a Phasing effect to the choir because to my ears, it gave it more of a spacey feel. This song is full of arrangements and sorts while still using the same chord progression (The G major, moving to B flat diminished). This took me about a year or so to complete, because it was done in my spare time. Everything you hear is self-taught, for I have not been to school for synth work yet. I am very pleased how this has turned out, and most people who have heard it agree. The people on the forum told me I should submit this, so here I am. I hope you guys enjoy this and post it. If not, I still feel like I made a big accomplishment. Thanks for your time.

CONTACT INFO: ReMixer name: Rexy Real name: Bev Wooff Email: bev.wooff@gmail.com OCR Forum ID: 7528 REMIX INFO: Remix title: "A Viper in the Distance" Game covered: Gran Turismo Individual song covered: Moon Over the Castle ADDITIONAL INFO ON GAME (if Liontamer didn't already provide it when sending Toyota Disco through ): Original soundtrack composers: Masahiro Andoh & Isamu Ohira Company involved: Sony Platform: PlayStation Year of release: 1998 --- Good morning, afternoon, evening and night gentlemen. You aren't going to escape my submissions this time! First of all, I'd say thanks for the input on my past two subs; while the wait was pretty much nerve-racking for me, I'm just glad to see what I have to work with. Course, being at home all summer I can't really put these skills into practice for the time being, so how about I try subbing another one of my pre-recordings? Anyway, here's to another piano arrangement, doing some Gran Turismo coverage this time. The source tune, "Moon Over the Castle", is a very popular choice among the audience for KyleJCrb's "Nitro Game Injection" (NGI) radio show, which somehow follows this mix's original purpose - to cover said source and have it played as an exclusive on the 100th show. However at the time of subbing it's currently on hiatus after 91 episodes, but I still think that it should be able to get out there towards a diverse audience in spite of that. How's about it? Those who already checked out the version at VGMix will see that I adjusted the equalisation prior to sending it over here. Thank Dhsu for pointing that out; had it not been for some of his pointers this may have faced a bit of a struggle on the tech side. So yeah. I know that piano pieces are getting harder to pass over the bar these days. I know that people prefer upbeat arrangements over those that make them cry. But that's not going to stop me from doing my own thing in the end. I strongly feel that most of my obvious flaws in my past few subs have been squeezed the pulp out of in this mix, and I hope you'll feel that too. But if not, I may have to mess around with new styles. Heavily. Thank God I'm heading back to campus in six weeks from now. Anyway, thank you very much, and I'll be prepared to see the result getting posted in 5 years time. Peace out, -Rexy-

I've packed this thing with so many plugin's that my computer crashed about four or five times in the making, so keep that in mind. This is the only remix I have done so far with my new M-Audio Keystation 49e keyboard, so expect a lot more from what you've hear from my previous ones (better arrangement, better quality, better samples)

Contact Info Remixer - Digital Connect Real Name - Adam Fagan Remix Info name of game/track remixed - Lumines/Please Return my CD additional info - for the PSP, soundtrack produced by SHinichi Osawa This would be my first remix from using FruityLoops, getting a feel for the system, but also figuring out some nice effects. In figuring out what to do with the remix, several things became apparent here. First, Remixing anything from Lumines would be best done from a more conceptual method, since the music itself comes basically from your actions while playing the game. So overall, I decided to choose a few notable melodies from the music and to work the idea of the remix around that. Instruments - The piano was initially without any effect, but the echo effect used properly made the melody sound much more complex than it actually is in most parts. When I first heard the sample, it did remind me of almost a softer mandolin, as well as the kind of instrument you could hear when watching something from Japan or whatnot, so I worked the idea of a japanese-like feel into the song. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Here is a direct link to the file: * Contact Info* ZKI Nafis M. Haamid megamanzaki@gmail.com http://www.myspace.com/zki Member #31148 *Remix Info* Mega Man 3 Shadow Man's Stage This is my first remix I've ever done. I needed a break from my own works, and I remebered when I first discovered OCR, there was no Shadow Man remix. I have to say though, I understand why now... that was a tough song to choose! It took more or less a whole day to do, made on FL studio (primarily). Originally, I was going to stick to the 155bpm pace, but my phone rang and I got distracted, changing it to 140bpm instead... wow it sounded great! Also, choosing instruments that sounded close, but not exactly like the original ones was a major task, not to mention doing it all from my exceptionally poor memory! But some songs you just don't forget... Anyways, if I may say so, I'm a big fan of AE's, Disco Dan's, and DJ Pretzel's songs, something that definitely inspired me to go ahead and finally contribute something... But as long as it took me, I'm gonna need a longer break from making music for a while! Anyways, thank you in advance!

email sub file Oxygenfad - In the rain or in the snow.mp3 hmmmm..... - djp Dear OCR, Hi! This is my super mega drum and bass remix of parrapa the rappers FUNKY FLOW song. I am working on a new cd that is going to be released maybe around Christmas time, but yeah I was frigging around with this new drum and bass song, and I threw the parrapa song of top hahaha, it fit really well but I am not going to include it on my commercial release (for a million different reasons hahaha). I was wondering too, I know you have no time to do this but I am in a tight spot. I don`t have Id3 tag making software right now. I am miles and miles away from my home right now. I am sure you understand. I don`t mean to be a bother at all, the computer I am on right now is in french and is a shared computer hahaha, so I am very SOL right now Anyway I hope you guys like this. All the drums are mine (cept for the obvious amen break, but it was cut up by me of course) same with the synths etc. Yeah so anyway thanks! I got a 12`` record coming out next month and a 7`` after that if you wanna plug that somewhere hahaha : ) Right on man thanks, props! www.oxygenfad.com TAKE CARE AND THANKS! Contact info - Oxygenfad - William Jose Murray Mcleod - trainspotting1234@yahoo.ca - www.oxygenfad.com - n/a ReMix info - Parrapa the rapper - Prince Fleaswallow's Flea Market - Sony Playstation. - n/a - Yo meng, I was working on my new album and was making this dark drum and bass track thing. I added the parrapa song and the song took a different direction all together hahaha, so wha I did was saved a new file, and worked on my FUNKY FLOW remix. This won`t make the CD, it`s a fun b side that I thought the Internet might like The DARK DRUM AND BASS SONG that this originally turned up on is pretty crazy heh, you will hear it around Christmas time! Yeah though, I love parrapa the rappa it`s such a cool game! Crack Crack crack the egg into the bowl! I am a chicken in the kitchen, and I ain`t kidding, all though, nothing is written. Contact Info: -ReMixer Name: Robert The Devil -Real Name: Robert -Website: None -Forum User ID: I tried to register at the forums but have yet to recieve a confirmation emal... this happens to me sometimes ReMix Info: -Name of game ReMixed: Jaguar XJ220 -Name of individual song ReMixed: Indego (Please note: not a remix of the whole song, just this little bit at the end that I really liked.) -Additional information about game: It's for the Sega CD, so I'm pretty sure it's really obscure. -Link to the original soundtrack: Uh... you can find some MIDIs from it on www.mirsoft.info or the more commonly-known www.vgmusic.com (though I found it on mirsoft) -Comments: Yeah, ok, this is my first mix and my experience with mp3s is very limited, so please don't be too harsh I basically took the basic chord progression and melody from a MIDI, redid the melody, added some new melody (the original had an 8-bar melody that repeated twice, and then the song was over... I felt it had more potential though.) Then I added new bass and drums. Yeah. My main concern with the Mix itself is that the balancing of volume isn't very good; it feels to me like the bass and snare are a little too quiet compared to the hihat, but I think overall it's a minor technicality that I usually overlook. Thanks for your time, hope it gets approved

Hi DjPretzel, I've just finished this mix, shock horror its not final doom =P It's from descent 2, incidentally the first pc game I ever owned and still one of my faves. The original track was from the closing credits of the game. However the game had two soundtracks, an industrial/metal CD soundtrack and a midi soundtrack, both of which were completely different. I always preferred the latter and hence its the midi version of the credits that I remixed. The original midi file is here. http://www.djredlight.com/temp/CREDITS.MID My remix is here. Thanks for listening =) *Contact Info remixer name - djredlight real name - Ashley Carr email - djredlight@djredlight.com website - http://www.djredlight.com (by the way, if it's at all possible, can you change the website info on this page to http://www.djredlight.com?) *Remix Info name of game - descent 2 name of individual song - descent 2 midi soundtrack - credits - original composer - Dan Wentz - system - PC - published by Interplay.

Now, is that because the metal rod you used to be packin' kept setting off the metal detectors at airports, or is the softer texture less uncomfortable?

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/3/theprophetofmephisto_music.htm The name of the song is 'Drowning in a Pool of Infinity'. Please leave the link to my soundclick on the submission feedback thingie whatchacallit. It's a remix of Aeris's theme from FF7, rock style with some acoustic breakdown at the end. It's the first song on the list. Remixers - The Prophet of Mephisto and Level 99 Remix Team real name - Brad Burr and Stevo Bortz. Stevo sent me this song about a month and a half ago. he had recorded the electric guitar part and asked me to do some 'extra stuff' with it. Originally all we were going to do was some drums and bass guitar - however, as we talked about it more, I added in strings, then he recorded an acoustic section to the end. I did the djembe, strings, and lazysnake electric piano. The vocals were a late addition, but I feel they really work. This whole piece flowed so easily - we had the main ideas down in about a week and a half, and the final mastering took about a week of sending it back and forth between us. I feel this is the culmination of our efforts on this piece. stevo wanted me to say that he thinks this is REALLY AWESOME zomg...and he was kidding on vgmix. werd. THE PROPHET

I've never really submitted anything, though I've been around for a while. I decided it was finally time to at least try; even if I don't pass, I'll know some more about where the bar is. Anyway, about the mix, I started it a while ago by request, and I think on the whole it's a pretty decent song. I used some electric piano, chromatica, acoustic piano, faux acoustic piano, some random orchestral stuff, and some beepy chiptuney synths for the intro. There's little repetition, and I've tried to keep it interesting the whole way through. I found that the source was a somewhat challenging tune to work with, as it is very complicated and has many parts, but I endeavored to include most, if not all of them. Hope you guys like it.
