  1. Email sub file Kerning techno.mp3 Yo this is Tyler Woods, coming at ya with a hip hop track turned techno. This one comes from Maple Story, a korean mmo, 2d side scrolling rpg. Unsure who originally did it, or what year. www.maplestory.com my website be: http://home.comcast.net/~tylerisit
  2. Definitely an original + creative arrangement. Percussion issues imo... - djp Yes. It's been a long time since I last submitted a song. However, this "piece" has been sitting on my hard drive since... since.. since Binnie told me to make it. It's as finished as it will ever be because my hard drive crashed and I lost all the source files. Do what you will, but remember, I KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE. Etc, etc, etc. Love, Ty "Suzumebachi" Guenley PS: If the link happens to be a piece of crap, you know where to find me. Unless you're that new guy... HI NEW GUY.
  3. Hello, I'd like to submit another song to OverClocked ReMix! I've recently completed a trance arrangement of FFX's "Song of Prayer" that should make an enjoyable addition to your archives. Basically, I sampled the accapellas from the game and built a song around them based on a chord progression for "Song of Prayer" that I heard in a piano arrangement of it. You can download the track here: I named the song "Prayer". Hope you (and the rest of the judges) enjoy it! -abg
  4. Remix name: The Monsaic OC ReMix Game: Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee Original Song: Monsaic Lines Background melody Original URL: http://www.doulifee.com/prc/TheOrichalcon/oddworldabe_monsaiclines.mp3 Game isn't added yet so here's some information: Platform: PC and PSX Composer: Ellen Meijers Publisher: GT Interactive Designing Company: Oddworld Inhabitants First thing I want to clear up is that the original source material is quite short. There's no midi, so I recorded the track from in the game. As you can hear the source music is only about 15 seconds long, but there's a clear melody there that I really liked while I was playing the game. I wanted to bring out the more atmospheric and tribal essence of Oddworld that Meijers seemed to really dig. I feel the way I've remixed this is similar to the music from one of the later oddworld games (Stranger's Wrath) which made good use of acoustic guitar and woodwind instruments. I've used a flute, pan flute, acoustic guitar, orchestral strings, hollywood strings, and bass as well as acoustic drums from RMX and a tribal drums soundfont for the percussion. I ran it past a few people to try to iron out the mix and get it as right as possible, I'm happy with where it is, so hopefully you are too. ~TO
  5. Some damn cool bits... if passed, perhaps we can ask for a better encode... - djp Dear DjPretzel, My name is Mick Gordon and I own and run and Audio production company based in Australia that produces music, sound effects and voice talent for game, film and television. I also own a TV Audio Advertising company called Noise30 and do the occasional remix, under the name 'N-Jekted', of pop songs for radio airplay. I have always been a fan of OcRemix and I thought that it was time to submit my own! Title: Doom Purgatory OCReMix From the Game: Doom (id Games 1993) Description: This is a remix of a few themes from the cult classic Doom, originally scored by Bobby Prince. For this I grabbed my trusty hand-made 7-String guitar and bunch of audio production software and bashed away. Id like to describe it as Slipknot and Maralyn Manson meet...well...Bobby Prince and the two Johns. This was actually done about 18 months ago and was incredibly rushed. The only real instrument there is the guitars - there is about 8 overdubbed, the drum and synth programming was done in FLStudio 4, with a small amount done in Nuendo 2.0. Many thanks and keep up to great work with OCRemix! If this one goes well I have another Remix of the music from the classic game, 'The Journeyman Project'. 6. It *is* under 6MB, though at 48kbps it's 12'00"... - djp First up, really sorry, the ID3 tags arnt written in. ^^;; I passed the song to a friend (who has dialup and limited access) and they aggreed to post it on their site, it took long enough to get it to em and for them to post it, i ddnt want to bug them... Again, really sorry.... The ID3 Details are at the bottom of this email Contact Info Me - DJV V_Gasm@hotmail.com ReMix Info Found At - Game Name - Yoshi's Story 64 Song Remixed - Yoshi's Story Theme + World Theme 1 In a way this is kinda a resub... back in January, i submitted 'Yoshi's Symphony' which didnt get through (hearing it now, i know why....) Liontamer made a point that if its a symphony make it awesome, so i thought i'd make it a Piano Concerto. My previous submission was a ballady version of the opening theme. I worked on the sound, but kept the stucture mostly the same. Thats the first movement. A waltz of the first world theme for 2nd movement. And a minor adaption of the theme for the 3rd movement. And hey, if this doesnt get through, at least i've improved my sound (cept i need better speakers...) Anyway, enjoy! Thanks and cya. 7. Not familiar with the source material - anyone? -djp New remix yo. I've been working on this thing since like October '04. I originally intended to submit it just an instrumental piece, but just as I was finishing up, pixietricks's name popped up on the OCR front page. So I sent her an email and here we are. Gray Edit: For my part I added some more compositional, instrumental and percussive elements as subtle backing tracks to help fill some of the sparseness. I then redid the mixing and mastering - made the mix a bit more dynamic but also made the entire mix a bit louder. I also agreed with larry on the vocals, so I brought them more forward and as loud as I felt was feasible in this context. In the likely event of botched-up ID3 tags, hither be ye olde track info. Remix Title: Journey's End ReMixers: sephfire, pixietricks, graylightning Game: Final Fantasy X Source Material: "People of the North Pole" (mp3 link below) http://www.sephfire.com/music/gagazet.mp3 Original Composer: Masashi Hamauzu Year: 2005 Remixers' URL: http://www.sephfire.com Jill had some comments on the vocals (and the lyrics she wrote): "The lyrics, inspired by the love story between Tidus and Yuna, take the form of a sort of call and response. As Yuna reflects on their journey and the disappearance of her lover, a reassuring voice emerges from the fog." The tide's come in But I can't go on again I feel a voice within fading I need your touch Why does it hurt so much? I've never known such loneliness The world is right But I'm so alone this night I can't find the light; guide me Chorus: Take heart I'm by your side Though we're apart I have not died I think that be it. As always, thanks much and keep up the good work. ^^ Daniel (sephfire)

  10. Hey OCR dudes! I’m back with a much better remix this time. Information: ReMixer Name: Red Tailed Fox Real Name: Caio Moraes Ferreira e-mail: rincenwind671@hotmail.com Game / Song ReMixed: Hydrocity act 2 (Sonic The Hedgehog 3) Name of the ReMix: Aquatic Pressure (OCR Swimming Pool Edit) Link: Information: Well, what can I say? Sonic is probably the happiest hero of all games because at least he faces danger listening to some really cool/funky stuff... The idea of this remix was to blend the original with original grooves / styles. I think I handled it quite well, it goes from funk hybrid/weirdness to dance pop and reggae dub... Or something like it... I not quite sure. All I know is that there’s a lot of originality to it. O.B.S: The only difference between this version and the one in VGMix is the encoding. I have some people to thank: Luiza TSM – for watching (and probably laughing at) me doing the remix and giving her sincere opinion. Kaleb Grace – for encoding, hosting, and tagging (and for being one of the person’s who encouraged me to send this to OCR) BrainCells – for being Brazilian (hahahhaa kiddig, for being the second person who encourages me to send this here). That’s about it... I hope you guys dance to it! =)

  12. Remixer: Vurez Website: www.vurez.com Remix Info: Game: Ninja Gaiden This is a remix of the mine music from the first Ninja Gaiden on the NES. And since this is a mine remix, I used a good amount of reverb and delay in some parts (well, I pretty much always use quite a bit of reverb and delay but at least it fits better in this case).
  13. Hi, This is a remix of Chrono Triggers Hidden Truth and Final Fantasy 8's Lunatic Pandora into a breakbeat Drum & Bass track. The track is quite heavily remixed but imo doesnt loose the relation to the original. It did get a few bad posts in the forums but only because it doesnt use all of the source material from the songs, which i know you guys frown apon (or is it upon?) but im hoping you will see past that in this one. I love this track and I hope you all like it. DJ Liquid Neon P.S I had some trouble sending this e-mail, apologies if it came through more than once.

  16. I agree in principle more with the comments made about the mix's production than with those made about its arrangement; I think the overall structure could have worked, but would have needed some different decisions made when it came to effects in particular. I think Brandon accurately cited the delays as being partially responsible for the mushiness, and there's some other timing issues where the lead acoustic is a bit behind that compound this issue. Drums get a bit lost and seem to sit dead center with very little panning, with the exception of the initial shaker. Still, the emotion is there, the energy is there. It DOES sound like it was made by someone with a good ear and definite love of the material, and the backwards guitar work is excellent. I'm probably more borderline than anyone else in voting no, and might thus be more interested in a resubmission than anyone else, but I still concur and am closing out with a 4th No.
  17. Perhaps a little too abrasive, and repetitive to some extent as well. You can thrash without piercing so much, or at least, I feel like I've heard people do so. While the genre is supposed to be chaotic and aggressive, I think the energy being channeled here is actually hurt more than it is helped by the scratchy EQing. Closing out with 4th NO.
  18. The game to original to MIB ratio here is the most problematic aspect to me. I concur with the above statements regarding this point and am closing out with the fourth NO.
  19. Sonic The Hedgehog 3 - Momentary Standstill Remixer Name: LordMaestro Real Name: Ross Kmet E-Mail Address: LordMaestroX@gmail.com Name of Game Remixed: Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Name of Song Remixed: Azure Lake Competition Original Composer: Masato Nakamura and the Sonic Team Copyright: Sega Comments: Okey! Here is my first submission that isnt from Secret of Mana (but definately expect more from that game:)). This was kinda a departure from the style I usually try to lean toward. This time around, I wanted a mix that focused more on rythms and harmonies, and not quite as much on driven melodies (although they are present). I also wanted to focus on movment, thus alot of the panning and other such effects. As usual, FL Studio 5 was used, along with all VSTi's or Fruity Generators (except for a few drum samples).

  21. Greg2k - HeatWave Contact Info: Remixer name: Greg2k (notice the lowercase 'k') Real name: Gregory MacGregor Location: Madrid, Spain Age: 21 E-Mail: greg2k@gmail.com , greg2k@greg2k.com Website: http://www.greg2k.com (under construction at the moment) Forums userID: 13327 ReMix info: Game remixed: Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest Remix name: HeatWave URL: (id3v2 tags filled out) Song remixed: Lava theme Genre: Progressive Trance Soundtrack: Personal comments: I don't think there's a single song from DKC2 I'm not willing to remix some day. And the lava theme was the first one I decided to do, obviously in the only genre I think I'm somewhat good at: progressive trance. So this is a progressive trance remix of the lava theme, with little variation to the excellent melody except a few original patterns here and there, with a kick-ass beat and bassline to go along with it. There's a longer, 'Club Mix' version over at VGMix ( http://www.vgmix.com/song_view.php?song_id=4232), but since many were put off by the near-8-minute original, I decided to make a shorter one and post it here at OC ReMix too. Made in FLStudio 4 with quite a few VST instruments and a lot of patience in around a month, this is my take on the fantastic tune which most DKC2 fans still whistle/hum wherever they go. Now they can club to it, too!
  22. Hey, this is my first submission, recorded using nothing but my accoustic guitar, an inexpensive computer microphone, and a little bit of added effects. Because of difficulty finding a good host for MP3s, I had to use www.soundclick.com, which I know, is probably a huge pain in the ass for you guys. Anyway, onto the additional info: Remixer Name - The Bobby Corwen Experience Real Name - Evan Johns Userid - As for this, I honestly cannot seem to find any indication of my userid number, but I can assure you that my NAME is BobbyCorwenExperience. Sorry... Name of Game Remixed - Final Fantasy IX Name of Song Remixed - Freya's Theme Additional Info - I think you guys have already got this covered Comments - Umm... Basically just did some multi-track recordings with my guitar, added some reverb in the computer and then layered it over the rain loop. Oh and that little lead line a little after 2:00, that was written by me, and was done, amazingly, totally improv. Alright, thanks for your time, Evan Johns _________________________________________________________________ Express yourself instantly with MSN Messenger! 23. Hey there, first of all many compliments for the site: I stumbled upon OCremix last week and I've been amazed. After listening to some of your interesting stuff, I've thought to give my little contribution... hope you will like it. Below are my data, as required: Contact Info Your ReMixer name: DJ Magurno Your real name: Gabriele Magurno Location: Italy Your email address: magurno@gmail.com Your website: http://www.magurno.com Your userid: 29181 (grabbed from the activation link: hope it's the right one) ReMix Info Name of game(s) ReMixed: Lufia II - Rise of the Sinistrals Name of individual song(s) ReMixed: Battle Theme #2 (A.K.A. "Boss Battle") Name of the ReMix: Hit Da Boss Additional information about game if it has not yet been added to the site, including composer, system, etc. System: SNES - Composer: Yasunori Shiono - Year: 1995 Link to the remix file: Link to the original soundtrack if it is not one of the sound archives already available on the site: (MIDI files, check: "Battle Theme #2") (MP3 files, check: "Lufia II Boss Battle") (MIDI direct link) Your own comments about the mix, for example the inspiration behind it, how it was made, etc.: After spending many years using the SNES system bought in 1994, with which I had much fun, my passion for retro-gaming didn't stop, maybe since I've seen the videogames born, when I was a child. Now that old systems are over, the only way to still play with old videogames is using emulators: I've discovered Lufia II some months ago, while I was searching for a new game to play with and... I've been amazed by the addictive gameplay, good humor, intricated puzzles, and especially the MUSIC! Mr. Shiono made an excellent work, my favorite track ever is the "Battle Theme #2" also known as "Boss Battle Theme". I think there are great arrangements for a 2D-game music, especially strings and background guitars. I've thought that, after some improvements, it could sound even better, so here we go: since I've been a DJ for almost 6 years, during the '90s, and my passion for music-composition is still alive and healty, I've thought to make a Jungle "Jump-Up" remix of the Boss Battle theme: the drum-metrics and the BPM were already perfect for that. Although I've re-arranged almost everything, and also added new parts to the song, I've tried to keep my remix as close as possible to the original idea, which was great already. Mine, is a (little) improvement: I don't expect to reach the author's levels of course. Well, after one week of work everything it's ready. Hope you'll like it! Thanks for attention, hope my remix could meet your requirements. Also, hope everything is ok with the mp3 file: I'm not too much familiar with the ID3 Tag V2, I did my best, anyway. Greetings from Italy, Gabriele Magurno www.magurno.com
  24. CONTACT INFO: ReMixer name: Rexy Real name: Bev Wooff Email: bev.wooff@gmail.com OCR Forum ID: 7528 REMIX INFO: Remix title: "Anguished Beyond Words" Game covered: Dragon Warrior II Individual song covered: Overworld (NSF Track #5) Song link: ADDITIONAL INFO ON GAME: Original soundtrack composer: Koichi Sugiyama Company involved: Enix Platform: NES Year of release: 1987 --- Hi everyone. ^^ First of all I may want to say thanks for the feedback granted to my past few mixes submitted to the panel. At the time I'm writing this I'm set to resubmit both "Robotnik's Immortal Presence" and "Where Force Stood Still" pretty soon so that can easily show your feedback is being of interest to me. Thanks very much. Anyway, it's time that I brought myself to present territory. Back in the month of May we all faced stresses relating to exams, right? I was one of many to undergo that, and with pressures going around other elements of social life to match I had to incorporate it into my music via an entry into RPGamer.com's "Splendid Performance" contest. Even if it doesn't get past the first audition, I can say that the feedback granted around OCR's WIP board were very helpful in helping me polish up my performance. So what we have here is a reflective interpretation on Dragon Warrior 2's Overworld theme, something that I first took interest in since I heard coverage of it within the April Dwelling of Duels compo. I felt that I learnt a lot of fresh skills on both the performance and technical aspects when going through the mix (some of which being in turn integrated into WFSS v2) and thus have helped me able to transfer my expression much further into the music. I hope you all like it; if not... there's always next submission, I assure you. Thanks very much for your time! Peace out, -Rexy-
