  1. Hi, The song is called Foregone Destruction. The original composer is Michael van den Bos. This track is featured in Unreal Tournament on many of the levels. This was made with his permission. I am a new remixer. I go by Simon Saiz. My email is the one I'm writing from. My homepage is simon-saiz.com. Link: This remix is more of a remake/remaster because the original is poor quality s3m format. I added and intro jungle beat and enhanced all of the instruments.
  2. Hey another submission for you, this one is a breaky Legend of mana remix. Hope you like it

Puga Email: Davejkr@prodigy.net ReMix Info Remix name: Industrial Strength Game: DooM Song ReMixed: e1M2: The Imp's Song Comments: Wassup guys. I made this remix for "The Dark Side Of Phobos" DooM remix project. I decided on doing this one because I really liked the feel of the original. Very John Carpenter-esque. When I began remixing it I knew the song only as the Nuclear Plant, so I wanted to keep an industrial feel. Hence why there's dirty synths & pipes & whatnot & so on. Seeing as the bass was really what drove the original, I wanted to keep it in the forefront. I also wanted it to be eerie & brooding. Have dissonant resonating synths. And I just kept adding stuff I thought was appropriate. The End

  5. I've producet a remix for the old game Grand Prix Circuit based on the MS-DOS version. My Remixer Name: Nautilus My Real Name: Erlend Waagbø My Email Adress: nautilusx@gmail.com Name of game remixed: Grand Prix Circuit It's a remix of the menu theme (as the game only contains the startup and menu music). As far as I know, GPC has not yet been added to your database: http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/grand-prix-circuit This url contains screenshots and most of the info about the game. The original composer is Krisjan Hatlelid. As the original soundtrack is made by a PC Speaker or similar device, the only way to hear it is to play the game: Comments about the mix: I'm a great fan of both electronica-style music and the Formula 1 Grand Prix. My favorite team is BAR-Honda (formerly Honda-McLaren). This mix is a tribute to the brilliant game music by Accolade/DSI and the best Formula 1 team ever. I hope you like my remix and that it will be published on the OCRemix website. Best regards, Erlend Waagbø
  6. djpretzel, Thank you for the wonderful site, it is the only videogame remix site I visit! Here is my first submission: CONTACT INFO Remixer Name: Topaz Real Name: Daniel Alvarado Email: gamersdaily@gmail.com Website: http://www.GamersDaily.TV Forum ID: 30961 REMIX INFO Game Remixed: Final Fantasy Song Remixed: Chocobo Theme INSPIRATION I was listening to the lovely "Dash De Chocobo" from the Final Fantasy 11: Vision of Jirat album, when it dawned on me how much I love this simple melody, and that after 11 incarnations it still manages to bring a smile to my face. So I went back to the original Final Fantasy 1 chocobo theme to see where it all started, then shut everything down and created this from scratch using Reason 3.0. The melody is a bassoon, then I came up my own complementary bass, drum, and horn sections. The final instrument is the tone and cadence of my rapping voice, which was inspired by Del the Funkee Homosapien, rapper of the famed group "Gorillaz" and also an independently published artist in his own right. The lyrics were also written entirely by me and are included below. They are meant to be as light and breezy as the melody, a whimsical slice of a day in the life of Cloud. Thank you for your consideration, and I hope I can contribute more vocal rap remixes in the future, a genre that unfortunately is a rare find in the OC Remix vaults. Sincerely, Topaz LYRICS: Just another morning in the city of Midgar, unfold my white cape and hit Tifa on the cellular And I'm tired of the smoke from these industrial machines, I'd rather feel the smoke from a pocket full of Pahsana Greens Time to leave the continent, my feet are too slow, so we go 20 miles an hour on the back of a Chocobo I wish she'd lived longer cause that Aeris was a hottie, now I'm looking for revenge, swinging swords bigger than my body Switch to the Airship, fly high above the clouds, time to take on Sephiroth, that'd make my momma proud I'll fight you on my rocket bike, quicker than a comet, I'll kill you with my friend in the sky who's named Bahamut Thats the end of the story you created yourselves, TopaZ signing off I'll be back for part twelve

  9. Here is another classical-oriented submission of mine. It's a concerto for piano and orchestra based on two of the Russian folk songs from Tetris. It's not exactly a piano concerto, but it's written much in the same way as one from the classical-romantic era. It's written in a kind of condensed sonata-allegro form with several key modulations and some motivic technique I attribute mostly to Beethoven and Mahler. The tonality, however, is mainly Russian folk song-sounding, along the lines of Tchaikovsky or Rachmaninov. I don't claim to be the cleverest in writing for the piano, so it's all in good fun. ReMixer name: Jeremy Robson Real name: Jeremy Robson e-mail: jeremy.robson@gmail.com website: http://jeremy.narphonax.com Forum ID: 9734 Title: Tetris Piano Concerto in A minor (the word "minor" is supposed to be uncapitalized) Game remixed: Tetris (gameboy) Pieces used: B theme (unknown title) and A theme ("Korobeiniki") Link: Note: If anyone knows the true origin of the B theme, I'd be forever grateful. ~Jeremy

I aimed for a chillout sound that is present in the original music even if it is slightly harsh but most 16-bit consoles were. There's elements from the title music as an intro and end because I thought it fitted well. The Remix was made within a week using programs that are new to me so this is the first and hopefully not the last. I aim to do a Goldeneye64 remix next since it was the game i played most while at school. Martin (EverybodyelsE)
  11. Contact Info - New remixer handle: Cubed777 - real name: Adam G. Prack III - e-mail: Cubed777@gmail.com ReMix Info - Super Mario Bros. - Castle theme Comments: This song was created entirely with free samples and soundfonts using Fruityloops 3.56 and the bare minimum of recording hardware. A while back, someone on the requests board asked for this theme to be remixed and I thought it would be interesting enough material. Much to my dismay, the original source is only 3 measures long--which is a major challenge to work with and keep things interesting--but I believe i've made the most of those 3 measures without straying too far from the original.
  12. Email sub file Intromix.mp3 Hi! 13. I'm a film and video game composer who has been in love with the music from Chrono Trigger ever since it was released in '95. The melody of the main theme was very strong and distinct and I remember being taken in by it the first time I played the game. I had some time off recently and I thought that it would be fun to create an orchestral arrangement for a piece that I have great admiration for. I hope others receive as much enjoyment from listening to this piece as I did from creating it. Sorry about the unoriginal title. I didn't know what else to call it as it is an orchestral representation of the main theme and not really a remix (no electronica or techno influences). -Mike Ayotte

And, as usual, though the reader would not know, with this being my first mix on here, I am displeased. It isn't so much that I don't like the way it's turned out, so much as a few flaws with the process. In actual fact, this shouldn't be a game mix at all. It should be a short arrangement of a few themes a friend of mine--Jordan Hehl--handed me a few years ago. More of a mess-around than anything. And he deserves credit for most of the guitar riffs in this. Anyways, it wasn't until about a fortnight ago that I attempted mixing in some other tunes to our work. It turned out fair, since the main theme was somewhat catchy anyways. Still, some major flaws with flow existed, which resulted in a lot of cuts, additions, and general changes to the product. As it turned out, two major flaws remained, both of which were hindered in development by my limited creativity: 1) Abrupt transition 2) Annoyingly short length And then a third flaw came to mind, also by lack of ingenuity, just minutes ago: 3) The name sucks Because the song is based on a lot of loops and counterpoints, save a few lines that constantly change, I thought that making the song longer would require using the the same, if not similar, loops. Regardless of whether a loop is catchy or not, I've never felt that extending a song by repeating a segment was healthy or creative. And I honestly couldn't think of much else to do without entirely changing a theme later in the song, which would completely change its voice. So what did I do? I cut it. If it's actually catchy enough that you want more, which I ever-so-highly doubt, set your player on loop. But it's as Huxley says: "Chronic remorse, as all the moralists are agreed, is a most undesirable sentiment. If you have behaved badly, repent, make what amends you can, and address yourself to the task of behaving better next time." Of course, he later relates the same principle to art, which is much more applicatory to the matter at hand. So on the the positives. Other than some serious volume issues which sometime hinder listening, be sure to pay attention to the many counterpoints and the two themes that rotate around the oboe, piano, and highest acoustic guitar. Also note the two original underlying melodies, other than the opening guitars, in the lowest acoustic (there are four, as well as a rhythm acoustic using a different sample) and in the harp--different phrases each. Especially in the last segments of the song, note the bass strings, if it is possible to listen to, as there are about twelve things going on at once. Like I said, it's not wonderful, and credit certainly goes to Jordan Hehl for giving me some nifty riffs to build on. There are a few tinny notes here and there I wished I had thought to change, but it just wasn't sitting right. But enjoy nonetheless.

I guess i just made it a bit less chromatic in my arrangement. My idea was to make something very much like "the ghosts are singing". I'm glad Jill volunteered to help me out with the vocals in this mix. She brought something, that i couldn't capture with mere sequencing. Much thanks to her!

  20. RoeTaKa / Alex Roe I started on the Doom ReMix Project in September with something really rubbish and left the project soon after. In early January when I was feelin' a little down I saw the project was still around and had songs still available. So I took on E1M3. Man this was back when I was just using free soundfonts but it still sounds quality in my ear. It starts off very mysterious, like a haunting tribal march. Haha I remember playing around with soundfonts alot here, those monsterous growls coming in from side to side are just very distorted and warped choir ooh and aah samples. I thought it'd be great to whack a solid drum beat in here, I wanted this to be angry and disturbed. It's like some sort of dark distorted breakbeat track and it progresses on to just be a very cool track. The tricky thing was the short repetious melody of the original track, it's all here pretty much the whole 5 minutes of the track, nearly with every instrument from time to time so I thought I did a good job of keeping it interesting with just that for long enough. I think this stands still as one of my fave remixes to date, even with higher quality samples now. Anyways, enjoy, and I hope it's well liked in the project!
  21. ReMix URL: http://www.doulifee.com/prc/TheOrichalcon/tntmessag.ogg http://www.doulifee.com/prc/TheOrichalcon/tntthe_da.ogg Game: Final Doom ReMix Name: River Styx G'day, it's TO This isn't a remix of the music in the level "River Styx" in Final Doom, but I liked the name of that level anyway. I actually remixed two scarcer sounding pieces together into one. Level 6 and level 17 in final doom. Mainly piano and glockenspiel, with acoustic guitar coming in later. Strings, Bass Synth, a little bit of mandolin plucking and some rhodes as backing. The drumline is very much groove oriented, however I've worked on making it as varied as I can without going overboard. -------------------------------------------------------------- LT Edit: I asked Lee what the hell was going on in this one, cuz frankly I didn't recognize a damn thing. Here's the skinny and so forth: The two source tunes aren't apparent, but they're there. I figured the first piece wasn't enough in itself to remix as a source, so I adopted the 4-chord backing in source 1 (tntmessag.ogg, the one that goes D4A4D5 -> G4C5D#5 -> D4A4D5 -> G4C5F5) and had that playing for the majority of the mix as the key. The Celesta playing at the beginning is playing in that pattern, however I shaped a melody over it, rather than just having the chords. The piano is mainly original keeping in the key, I've adopted trace amounts of other doom tunes from doom 1 in there, but they're not very apparent. Source 2 (tntthe_da.ogg) comes in with the Mandolin, playing the D -> D# -> D -> F pattern of the source in swing time. The nylon guitar that comes in at 2:00 plays an original solo and then plays the source 2 melody G -> A# -> G -> A also in swing time. The most apparent parts are around 3:10 when I made the build up, using the same 4 chord backing and bringing in the strings. When it comes down to it, Source 1 was very limiting, but that was the piece that I based my remix on. Source 2 was used to solidate the melody of the remix. A lot of the melody is interpreted from the original rather than just keeping to the basic pattern. Now, as for my opinion on the matter, it's probably sitting on the edge of what's acceptable in terms of adhering to the source (of what is a very simple source) however I still feel that it fits snugly around the pattern, and the use of the second source brings it up to a more recognisable stature. The other recently posted Final Doom mix (Quick Fix) is not immediately recognisable as a remix of the source material either, beyond the bassline, which leads me to argue my case on this one. Hope that's enough, thanks for giving me a chance to explain it. ~TO
