  1. I'm not sure if this really fits in with your site, but I figured what the heck, I'll give it a go. The song can be found here: Go to "downloadable songs" and download "The Legend of Zelda." Remixer name: It's actually a band called "The Number Sixes." Real Name: John Wilson Email: commanderborgnine@yahoo.com Website: http://www.purevolume.com/thenumbersixes Forum ID: Borgnine Name of Remix: Well we call it "Theme from the Legend of Zelda," but I guess that's not allowed? How 'bout "Zelda Surf," or "Surfin' with Zelda?" Or you can make up whatever you want, it's not that important. : ) Name of song remixed: Theme from the Legend of Zelda Comments: Well, like I said, in the short visit to your site I only came across electronic remixes, so I don't know if this "fits." But I figured you guys would want to hear it anyway if you're fans of video game music. We've been playing this for years and years, it's always a favorite.
  2. Email sub file Crono's Rain.wma - yes, we'd need an mp3 version, but please judge anyway - djp Hey guys, well, you can't win 'em all. So, here's another go. It's another Chrono Trigger theme, the main theme. It's done in a R&B/Smooth Jazz/Fuzion style.......I know. It's called "Crono's Rain". I thought being DJ Crono, I should have at least one CT remix on OCR, so, I'm trying to make one that you guys feel's good enough. So, have a listen, and we'll see. 6. Probably a no-brainer, but I hedge my bets these days, plus I get to quote you guys, making writeups easier - djp darkesword edit: Dave, you lazy ass. Here ya go djpretzel, Sorry about the resubmission thing. First remix in 2 years. Anyways, I have to build a stronger computer. Apparently 1.5GB of ram is still not anywhere close to enough (must also get 2nd computer up and running). I think my computer crashed about 12 times before this thing got done. High quality samples can be a curse in disguise. Title: The Frontier Arranger: Jared Hudson Game: Chrono Trigger Composer: Yasunori Mitsuda Company: Squaresoft Year: 1995 Jared Hudson

  8. Hey, without further delay; # Contact Info * Your ReMixer name: exploit80 * Your email address: its.andy@gmail.com * Your website: http://exploit80.net * Your userid: exploit80 # ReMix Info * Name of game(s) ReMixed: Midnight Resistance * Name of individual song(s) ReMixed: Level 01 Theme (4:03) * This is the first remix I've decided to submit to OC as all of my previous work was totally unrelated to videogaming. Somewhat inspired by this old C64 port of arcade machine of yesteryear. I've always had a softspot for this game and it's audio for some unknown reason. Tinman worked on audio for a few other C64 games, this being the best of the bunch IMHO. Ripped the SID down, resampled, and carved up once more to give one of my favourite level themes a more stompy, abrasive and downright dirty feel. Prizes for any C64headz who can guess the 1989 Thalamus game that inspired the drum re-programming I highly doubt anyone has rejigged anything from this pile of pixels before, so here is the original SID file. http://www.c64unlimited.net/games/m/Midnight%20Resistance/midnight_resistance.sid Lastly - The file. Thanks guys.
  9. Tagged for OCR (might need to change the filename): If geocities doesn't work, there is a version at vgmix: Contact Info: Ryan8bit Ryan Stern the8bitavenger@yahoo.com www.geocities.com/the8bitavenger Not sure what my userid is (on my profile link there's a 383) ReMix Info: Dragon Warrior IV Aktemto town/Death music I made this song for a contest for Dwelling of Duels at rock-out.net in May 2004, and so far it has been probably my best produced and most liked mix from what I can tell. I don't know if I meet the standards of this site anymore, so I thought I would test this one out to see. It was inspired by my feeling sad about the death of my grandmother and I couldn't really express it in any other way than just by arranging this song. Thanks, -Ryan8bit

Contact Info inanis/dwills (we call ourselves Nintendo Revengo) Joe Strosnider / Dorian Wills inanis@ecr.net / dwills@ecr.net http://www.inanis.net UserID: 19326 ReMix Info Game: Super Mario Brothers Remix Name: Leaded Mario Brothers After my first post failed the well honed scrutiny of the judges, I decided I needed to make some real music instead of bleeps and bloops. I enlisted the help of Dorian Wills, one of my coworkers, to play the Super Mario Brothers theme for me on guitar. After several takes and a plethora of artistic input from Dorian, this is the result. We wish we had a drummer for the percussion, but we were both fresh out, so synth drums had to be used. Lead and Rythym Guitar composed by Dorian Wills. Bass Line, Percussion, and production by Joe Strosnider. Used ModPlug Tracker for the Bass Line and Percussion. Used Cool Edit Pro to for arrangement, mixing, processing, etc.

Its done in an Orchestral/Techno hyrbrid kinda thingy if you know what I mean. Once I got into it, I sort of leaned toward the style of zircon's Calamitous Judgment.
  12. Contact Info: Blizihizake Blake Perdue blizihizake@netscape.com UserID:8644 Uh, I don't really have a website, but if anybody wants to quickly build me one, that'd be cool. For free of course. ReMix Info: -Donkey Country 2 Diddy's Kongquest -According to VGmusic.com, it's a remix of the Rigging stage's "Jib Jig". Teh Linkage: I hope you guys have soundclick ID's, cuz I was told you do. Just choose "mp3" next to the song titled Donkey Kong Country 2 Set Sail OC ReMix. Credits go to Sirrus for giving me this cool Harp soundfont that I used in this mix. Also to Darkesword and his website for providing squidfont, and recommending florestan which he now ALSO hosts, because the only two soundfonts I use in this song are Florestan and Squidfont. I also used a Roland drumkit off of hammersound.net. It's not like I have money for gigasamples, or commercial ones at that. It's said by everybody that good music makes free samples sound fitting and optimum. Well, hopefully this song does that. Maybe it doesn't. I hope it does though. Uh. Inspirational crap: Well, I remember submitting 3 or 4 years ago a totally crappy Kingdom Hearts mix which wasn't actually a Kingdom Hearts song, but was actually sung by Utada Hikaru, so I guess that didn't even get on the board. However, that song was pure crap so it had no chance. I submitted under xXoDiax. Then I later finished a crappy Bubbleman mix, which got a few YES's. I then realized, I HAD to get on OC ReMix. I was young and stupid, and even sent an email to change my mixerid to that of "DjBlizihizake", thinking I would get accepted. Oh, those were the days when I thought the tag "DJ" was cool. I realize how dumb I was, and I apologize to any ACTUAL dj's I offended. How embarassing. I think I just got excited because Teh Wingless actually posted in my WIP thread and gave some positive feedback. It was just my first review by anybody that I considered professional. Well, now a lot of people hate me for not finishing the 20892042108slfjs WIP's I've posted on your boards, but I squeaked out a finisher to this horrible orchestral rendition of a DKC2 song. I apologize to those people to whom I promised finished WIP's, but I never succeeded in. I know Prot, Vig, Dan, and a whole bunch of others probably didn't even read that. Thank god, I don't wanna be made fun of on #ocremix anyway. Well anyway, I hope you guys like this. or, at least YES it. I hope that, in the oddest situation that it does get posted, that others like it too.
  13. Email sub file - Akumajo Belmont - Eternal Lament.mp3 - djp Hi. My name is Robbie Sabo (my artist prof name is AkumajoBelmont). I have been toiling over my PC for the 3 weeks, and have produced a great ReMix, which i hope you will enjoy. Now, i don't have the best Midi card, sample library or mixing ablilities, but i do know one thing for sure... i LOVE to create music, and any limitations I have (if i only had LOTS of money!!!) only make me strive further to reach my goal... which, as is everyone elses goal on this site (i assume), is to one day write music for games. Damn it if I don't have the best of everything, it's not gonna stop me from doing what I love!!! The piece I have sent you is from the Sega Mega Drive game 'Eternal Champions'. I don't know the name of the track, or the composer, but it's one that has been stuck in my mind since I first rented the game and scoured the Sound Test (something i did/do compulsively)... This is the song as i have imagined it always in my head... I love the original, but i have to admit, the Mega Drive's sound chip wasn't the best, and hence forces you to use your imagination, and fill in the blanks yourself. It really is one of the greatest songs the Mega Drive ever churned out though, and the instrumentation was excellent. So, i got the idea for this while mucking around on my keyboard. The melody just floated into my head, and refused to let up, so i decided that this song was PERFECT for my first attempt at an oC ReMix. I didn't have the ROM for the game at the time, so it's all come from inside my head. To my delight, when i finally had the ROM for a comparison, i was amazed at how my mind had almost identically remembered this song for close to 9 years, i think:) What I did with it was this: I started with the drum sample at first, which took me AGES to get right, as i programmed it my self (the filtered, low res sample that runs like butter through almost the entire song. Then every thing just came together... I added the harpsichord arpeggio in, and i was amazed at how much more mystical it made the song sound. Then i had a great idea... why not lead up to a rocky-trancey repetition of the chorus in the final 3rd of the song, before it all suddenly just dies down and fades back to nothing but the main koto style sounds and the lo-fi drum sample??? I'm glad i did it, because, well, to me, it just pulls my heart strings, as i hope it will do yours. I've spent AGES also trying to master this song... if you have any thoughts on how to make it better, i would welcome your comments with an open heart. But i am actually partial to the way it sounds at the moment:) Anyways, i will let you get back to listening to it, and i really, REALLY hope it is good enough to be posted on your site. It would be a great honour if it was. I await with baited breath, and sincerely hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I have enjoyed composing it. Thank you for your time... Robbie Sabo (AkumajoBelmont)
  14. The title of this mix [HOMMAGE A NAKANO] comes from the fact that I know ABSOLUTELY nothing about the game. However, I do know alot about Junya Nakano. He often likes to take one musical idea and develop it very gradually throughout the course of a song. This ReMix is of the "shop" theme from Treasure Conflix. The original is really about 15 seconds long, however Nakano himself would have been able to stretch it out considerably had he wanted to, so that's what I have attempted to do. I tried to incorporate his style of repitition with gradual developement.
  15. Jivemaster, Elle MacPherson, Priscilla: Queen of the Desert.... SNAP I'd almost give them Foster's, too, or at least the amusing advertisements. Really anthematic mix - just reiterating my appreciation.
  16. Email sub file Eiko - Twosons Two Lawns.mp3 - djp I have been trying to remix music for a really long time now and just recently had a few more courses in music theory and now am able really understand how to make songs, so in the remixing sense I am new. I would like to submit this song from Earthbound. It's the "Twoson Theme" and I have now have come up with a name that fits the jazz style and thats "Twoson's Two Lawns". Website: Hamigaki.com
  17. Remixer name: Darangen Real name: Michael Boyd Email: darangen@hotmail.com Remix Info URL: Remixed Game: Chrono Trigger Name of Song: Schala's Theme Comments: Recently I had a very devastating occurance in life. My cat that I had for a good 5-6 years (Roxy) ended up with a tumor that ruptured and cause internal bleeding to the point that she lost 2/3 - 3/4's of her blood. It was an untreatable condition, and I had to put her to sleep. I was quite fond of that cat. So again, as with many of my feelings with life, I sat down and started playing the piano. I came up with the intro and the chorus part (0:00-1:00) minus the zeal part I added in later. I took a break and started playing CT again, and happened to be at Zeal and heard this tune. It hit my emotions and I was inspired to make this arrangement. It's in C Minor, and I don't think Zeal's theme was originally in C Minor, so I just made it fit and transposed it. Yes, it fades out. The reason I faded out was to symbolize the passing of my cat. This is also my first non-guitar arrangement, all done with Midi through my super old Casio CTK-650. Hope you enjoy it.

  19. On judges FTP and vgmix if the link don't work. - djp Hey there, Dave. Got a hot-off-the-press submission for you. I think it's my best. Anyway, here are the details: Artist: Beatdrop feat. MC Mouse the Mighty Game: Dance Dance Revolution 4th Mix Remix Title: "Dazed & Destroyed" Original Song: "Hysteria" by NM190 (Naoki Maeda) And now for my personal comments on the song: I originally started on this back in May or thereabouts for reasons I can't even remember. I honestly have NO IDEA why I chose to remix Hysteria. I got some work done, and before I started on the vocals, I put it on the back burner for about a month. Then, after I moved, Bemanistyle.com started up a remix contest, and I figured I'd enter this song simply because the timing seemed right. So I sat down one day, cranked out the verse from the original and the chorus, tacked on a synth solo that wasn't in the original, put an ending on it, and submitted it to them. However, my plans for this song hadn't been completed at this point. My room mate, Walker (aka MC Mouse the Mighty), happened to have written some compositions of his own, and I found out shortly after I met him that he's heavy into rap music (not the crap on MTV, the real stuff) and had written some lyrics of his own. Now, at this point, I had originally asked AE to record some rhymes for me, because he fucking owns. But since AE's always busy and I wanted to get this thing done, I turned to my room mate to hook me up. Just the other day, he did. And then he formatted the lyrics from his computer by accident and had to rewrite them from memory. I went to work on the recordings, and here's the result. And there you have it, Mr. Lloyd. Hope you enjoy it. -- -Dain
  20. Hey there, plz rename the mp3 file accordingly , tho I did fill out the ID2 tags, just comcast doesnt allow certain filenames for some reason INfo ------ DJ BorderHopper Stephan Santos Transversial@hotmail.com Remix Info -------------- SimCity 'Fired' Composer: Hiroki Kikuta(?), SNES http://www.zophar.net/zsnes/spc/simcity.rar Just noticed you guys took off the only simcity remix on the site, well HAD to do this song at least to get it back up there . I originally liked this short loop from the simcity game and was just curious as to what it'd sound like with a beat over it. Lo and Behold I'd be making an enitre song around it, but I think it seems to work pretty well. Some lyrics also dropped by yours truly straight from Dupont , WA.Hope this is the first of many remixes I'll be sending. P.S. when putting the pic up on the site for the simcity game, plz use this pic http://home.arcor.de/nalpnednuts/bilder/snes-bilder/sim-1.jpg, think it was the same one as last time, but just wanted to make sure cuz this one looks kewl , peace... -DJ BorderHopper
