  1. Easter = Cadbury Cream Eggs. No single holiday can be as completely encapsulated into one food product, for me. Luckily my sister remember this and bought me some.
  2. We're at $3630!! Less than $1500 to go! That number already handily beats last year's total, too; thanks to all who've gotten us so far, so fast!
  3. We're WELL over the halfway mark! Exact figure + MIXPOST tomorrow... had dinner w/ McVaffe tonight, who's visiting DC, and drank too much to write coherently or do maths.
  4. Just got our biggest donation yet so far this year, and we're now OVER 2K, @ $2054!!
  5. Thanks to recent contributions we've hit our first $1000! We're 20% done - one down, four to go!
  6. We've hit $300... thanks to everyone who's donated so far; this was the first official day, and we kicked it off right!
  7. I know, right? My bottom line is, when I listen to this mix, I'd have ZERO problems identifying it as Spring Yard/Sonic, even if the file was named "RABBIT_JOINT_ZELDA_OMFG!!.MP3". Seriously. Context NOT required. By the same token, I know 'Cyan' from FF6 pretty well, and even arranged it myself for the Squaredance album way back in the day, and I'd have no problems identifying HPOB as a Cyan/FF6 mix, even if the file were named "LARRY_OJI_OGLES_SWEATY_WRASSLIN_MENS.MP3". For me, these are both classics, source is pretty obvious in both, and I'm really happy both mixes are on the site. If Tony's point is that the judges can be somewhat inconsistent, well, of course they can... nature of the process, not saying anything new or scandalous or particularly worth saying. But since he's saying they've been particularly inconsistent, and using these two specific mixes as proof, I'm sorry, I just don't hear it at all. At all.
  8. I don't think a registry hack would do it, and I haven't seen one... What about using the /span option? I know it's not as good, but perhaps it may work? I'm a big fan of RDP but you're trying to lean on it a little too hard if you're using it for heavy audio/video/multimedia work, imo. As far as the upgrade, it shouldn't wipe out programs, but you may very well need a keyboard & monitor; RDP wasn't intended for use during OS upgrades since they often kick back out to the shell anyways, or disable services that RDP rely on, in order to complete. I'd wager that the time it takes to hook up a monitor & keyboard is probably nominal next to the time you'll take trying to figure out how to do it over RDP, if it's possible.
  9. ANY & ALL forum features/changes are being deferred until we move to VB4.1.3, which will re-enable video embedding by default. As far as Soundcloud goes, good suggestion - it seems like we could do a custom bbcode as per http://blog.soundcloud.com/2009/07/28/soundcloud-player-in-forums-5-step-guide-for-soundcloud-bb-code/ VB4 and the 6th version of the overall site design SHOULD be live in ~2 months.
  10. I had no problem easily identifying this as a Sonic the Hedgehog arrangement. Let's start a thread on OUR forums complaining about TheShizz complaining about us! We've posted far more liberal stuff; questioning how 'Hot Pink' was evaluated is fine, but this isn't a good poster child mix in terms of being more liberal, or too liberal...
  11. Quick update so far: 16 donations, $230 total. Long way to go, but a great start!
  12. HUGE thanks to Jimmy for starting this back in 2008; it's become an integral part of how the site is funded, and we appreciate all donations, large and small! If you're cool with it, please post here (amount completely optional) if you donate so we know & can keep track, and to show others your support - maybe you'll start a trend!
