  1. Well, it's definitely not an easy source to work with, there's so little to the original, that...it ultimately comes down to..."How can this be improved by way of arrangement...or texture of sounds?" At first it kinda appears easy, since the source is simple. Anyway, keep postin' updates dude, and I'll definitely help out anyway I can.
  2. Oh snap, another "Wario's Castle" remix...schweetness. Alright, let's see what we got here. In the beginning, it seems like the strings should have less "attack"...they should be more...flowing. As for the snare in the intro (and that continues throughout the whole song), I'd recommend turning down the volume just a bit. As for the remix itself, about halfway through I start to hear the original source a bit better, and it's a bit better flowing, but I would recommend either adding a new set of drums, or just create a variation of what you are already working with. Overall, the intro needs a better inclusion of the theme, just to keep the listener interested. But I like the work presented here, obviously this theme is one of my favorites and I think with a little more work this could be great. Definitely has potential.
  3. heh, sorry it's been so long with this one, I actually a few more things to it lately. Has a more delayed bongo intro, but I think it's not as prominent in the mix, however I could be wrong. Anyway, here's the updated version: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3253668/Zelda%20Test.mp3 Again, lemme know your thoughts...gonna try to finish this one soon.
  4. Hey all, just starting up a new remix. Looking for some ideas, hopefully gonna be working on this, nonstop for the next few days, possibly weeks. This is definitely a source that definitely hits home for myself, since...I'd turn on my Gameboy solely for the purpose of playing the final stage "Wario's Castle" in Super Mario Land 2. Wanted to keep it close to the original while...feeling a bit more wicked and mysterious, anyway...I'll let you guys hear for yourselves. Enjoy. Original: Remix:
  5. Man, this is a cool arrangement of the original, I honestly never would've thought I'd hear this song in a bluesy style, but this definitely works. My only problem I'd say thus far is the drums, they're a bit too loud when they start out but that's just a minor problem. Can't wait to hear the finished product.
  6. A somewhat emotional piece I've been working on for a bit, lemme know what you think. http://soundcloud.com/jakesnke17/untitled
  7. Hey all, just been working on a new track the past few days, looking for some feedback, if possible. Older Version: http://tindeck.com/listen/bjbn Latest Update: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3253668/Chip%20Trip%20%232%20WIP%206.mp3 Enjoy.
  8. Hey all, just bumping this thread a bit more. "Just here to announce something. For the entire week of Spring Break, both Technical Collision and Uprising will be free, that's right, completely free. Feel free to check 'em both out while supplies last!" Enjoy: http://djjd.bandcamp.com
  9. Could use a bit of feedback on this one, it's about halfway finished (I think) but, always helps to have another person's opinion. Er, Dropbox: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3253668/The%20Mystic%20Sea%20WIP%20%2311.mp3 ...and if that doesn't work: Enjoy.
  10. I do like teh piano tracks. ...and for what these are, they're good, but I would definitely like to see more instruments, playing the same melody, maybe have some strings for a nice background, especially "White Factory"...if nothing else, for the FL Studio version of it...you could add some reverb to the piano by pressing F9 and linking the piano track to the first track on the mixer. Then just add whatever effects you want. I'd definitely like to hear more from ya. Good work.
  11. I do like the intro, some of the instruments are a bit weak, but the composition overall is great. Almost makes me think of something you'd hear in a Final Fantasy game, in the Playstation era. You might want to lower the bass guitar like a decibel, but other than that, can't really think of anything. Good work man.
  12. Awesome stuff as always, melody. Can't wait for the release. Just wondering though, what was that lead synth you used at 1:50? It's just piano and drums until that synth appears. Favorite at 2:20.
  13. Oh, another album? Cool stuff man. Keep making stuff like this, as I'm always diggin' the songs.
  14. ...and now I present my 2nd album, Uprising. Had a lot of fun with this one...wanted to convey an image of "electronic vs. orchestral". "...while Disc 1 (Songs 1-11) have a more electronic, crunchy edge...Disc 2 (Songs 12-20) have a more organic, and orchestral feel. Was a lot of fun to work on this, and I hope you all have as much fun listen as I had composing." (click on the pic)
  15. ...and I think this is the nearly finished product. Thanks to a lot of people who helped out with feedback. Enjoy.
  16. Thanks for the advice...I've been working on it for a while now. Trying to change up the bass just a lil'. Anyway, I think I got the problem solved with the drums/bass. In any case, here's an update. Thoughts? http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3253668/RR%20WIP%20%238.mp3 Here's a Tindeck link, if anyone needs it: http://tindeck.com/listen/nfqc
  17. Just wanted some feedback on a few things in particular...namely, I wonder if the bass is "fighting" with the percussion. I've heard from a few people that they're kinda clashing but...just wanted to check with...a few "more" people. Anyway, give it a listen, throw down some feedback...I'm really open to any ideas you all might have. Thanks. Title: "Ramble, Ramble" Link: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3253668/RR%20WIP%20%236.mp3
  18. A fun little ditty, though...I'm unsure of where to go with it. Until then... Enjoy. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3253668/BAC%20WIP%20%232.mp3
  19. Well, I'd rather not end it here. I've been stuck on where to take this song for a long time, not really sure where to go with it. But who knows, might just look into it a bit further.
  20. Thinkin' this one is nearly finished, just wanted some feedback. Had Final Fantasy VII in mind while working on it, anyway, enjoy. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3253668/Zone%20Out.mp3
  21. I'll tone down the strings a little bit, no problem. Thanks.
  22. Very cool man, been following this one since the start... Seriously dude, good luck with the panel, because in any case, it sounds kick ass.
  23. Definitely wanted to go for something like...old school Square Enix, and try to get something in the style of Uematsu or Mitsuda...in any case, here's a work in progress of what I have so far. Forest of Life (WIP): P.S. Treat yourself to 1080p.
  24. Been asking for a lot of feedback on this track...as I think it sounds kinda cool. Influenced by a lot of video game composers hopefully this you guys like this track as much as I had fun composing/producing it. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3253668/UPath.mp3 Any feedback is welcomed. Edit: If that link can't be viewed...I'll put up a Tindeck link.
