  1. Hey all, just wanted to introduce another work in progress...this time of Galaxy Man's Theme from Mega Man 9. Sort of tried to take a Hous-ish approach, anyway, just wanted to hear your guys thoughts. Thanks. Galaxy Man (source): Remix, so far: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3253668/GM%20wip%20%238.mp3 EDIT: Latest Version: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3253668/GM%20wip%20%2314.mp3
  2. This is great stuff man, just got done listening to the 4 tracks. Keep up the good work.
  3. You know, despite the fact that this isn't video game music, I'm surprised no one's commented on this. There's some great stuff here, thanks for the link.
  4. Very, very cool...I've listened to this a few times now over the course of a few weeks. Loving the entire soundscape, very "big" while staying chippish. You sir, have a new fan.
  5. Besides the fact that it just went down a few mins ago, I've been having fun with this for a few days now...lots of great finds and just overall it's a blast. Definitely worth checking out.
  6. Another slight update? What's this nonsense? lol: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3253668/AH%20wip%20%234.mp3 I promise the next one will be a huge update.
  7. Oh, yeah, see I had no idea what you wanted to know specifically, but as for the waveform of the pad that comes in around :10, it's a slightly curved triangle wave. and the pad that comes in at 1:07 is a heavily modified square wave, it actually looks like: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3253668/Zebra%20Waveform%20%231.JPG and it's mixed with a triangle wave. and thanks Zach, gonna try to finish this up as soon as I can.
  8. Very cool stuff, Tuned Logic. Have always been impressed by your tunes, and I could have never imagined these two sources into this particular style before this. Wishing you all the best in the judging process.
  9. hey, thanks man, glad you're liking it so far. Yeah, this song is definitely all about the pads, I've made sure to add a lot, just to fill the soundscape. Anyway, this song is like 75% Zebra2 and the pad is actually from patch called "Switched On" and basically what I did was just use a cutoff filter to kinda make it sound subdued, it just makes it feel like it's supposed to be in the background. If you could be more specific, I could help out further. But I really didn't do much to the preset. Anyway, here's an update: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3253668/AH%20wip%20%233.mp3
  10. Is this anything? http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3253668/AH%20wip%20%232.mp3 Enjoy, and feedback is welcomed. EDIT: Latest Version: http://tindeck.com/listen/pnzx
  11. Well, it's definitely been a crazy match-up, I'm surprised I even got to the 2nd round to be perfectly honest. I came into this tournament with a clear intention to have fun, and make the best remix I could within the time given. Neblix, I couldn't have asked for a better opponent. The votes were close, your song was great (I still can't believe you made that in one day!), and overall it was just an extremely tight match...I'm proud to say one of the closest in GRMRB history (so far). Good luck in the remaining rounds, I'm sure you'll kick ass. lol, congrats to your victory (and everyone else in this round) and I'm just glad I had a role to play in the Proto Man bracket.
  12. Thanks for all the feedback you guys. You guys rock. and so do you Cyril, so do you, very much so. \m/ \m/
  13. I agree with a lot that Gario has already stated, a large sine bass would be appreciated around 1:14...or maybe just some arpeggios, a bigger emphasis on the low end would really make this a stellar track...maybe some large pad, something to fill that gap. This is just such a cool soundscape and I think anyone who listens to this will hear that. As always I think this is great even if some changes aren't made. Very cool.
  14. Wow, I really like the mood of this remix so far. The added touches with somewhat of a solo, the overall soundscape is cool. Man, that lead is sexy. Definitely want to hear more of a finished product before I start really judging it...but this is really promising. P.S. Breakbeat would suit this well, some glitch drums, with a nice solid kick on 1 and 3+...just what I think.
  15. Why hasn't this gotten more responses? That's my question at this point. Excellent stuff here.
  16. This is definitely a cool source to tackle...but I agree with Vidilian on what he says about the bass, you might want to turn the volume down as to make the rest of the arrangement appear more "shining", and with the drums, there should be a bit more variation, while still keeping the main rhythm with kick on 1 and snare on 2. Some clicks and clacks should fill it up a bit. But I definitely want to hear an update...because this has potential.
  17. I love the fact that all of the sudden...this tune is being remixed like crazy. Three separate remixes all in a matter of weeks. Ok, well, this remix follows the source pretty closely, I like the background effects, definitely gives off a spooky vibe. Some of the sounds are a bit...bland and there could be more variation on the drums. The mix overall is a a bit low in volume. The only thing this remix suffers from is low production values because there is a good arrangement near the end. With all of that said, this is a cool re-interpretation of the original. I like where it's going, and I'd highly recommend continuing with it. Good work but I'd like to hear updates. Also, you might want to put a link to the original, "Wario's Castle" from YouTube or something.
  18. Definitely some good stuff here, good work man.
  19. I thought it was pretty good. I'd say it beat my expectations of how I thought it was gonna be but...at the same time, it wasn't anything spectacular. Some good moments, some excellent CGI at times...it's worth a watch.
  20. Yup. I've been practicing with a bunch of sources lately, even the one I'll probably end up having for the competition. This was roughly made in 4-6 hrs, I would've kept going...if my eyes didn't hurt so bad from looking at the screen. lol Thanks for listening. Good luck to you in the competition as well, man. Win or lose, either way, it should be a blast.
  21. In anticipation, I felt the need to remix some already familiar tunes...just to get myself more acquainted with some of the robot masters I might have to face in the GRMRB. Anyway, here's my take so far on Flash Man. Enjoy. Source:
  22. d'awww, shucks. Alright, I'm in. Top 5: 1) Snake Man 2) Quick Man 3) Galaxy Man 4) Gemini Man 5) Air Man
