  1. Very cool. Definitely knew this was one to watch from the start, though...I'm surprised nothing more has been said on this one. Best of luck getting it on OCR. On the front page or not, I'll just echo what melody said: "whether this gets posted on ocr or not, it has already found a permanent spot in my own library." Awesome.
  2. I'm surprised no one's mentioned the most infamous unfinished remix. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/3253668/ManoriaCathedralReVamp.mp3 by Robotaki. and along with that: http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR00883/ by Disco Dan Hope your mom gets better man, I know how it is to feel helpless while a family member is in pain, my mom has had 4 eye surgeries over the past few months and...it's hard to witness. Take care of yourself and your mom.
  3. Not exactly an original, but...man, this is some amazing stuff. Honestly, in every piece of music I've heard from you...you've never disappointed. Keep it up man, always looking forward to hear what you come up with next.
  4. Thanks Rex, wow, Portal 2? There's actually plans to set up the official website of the movie and as I actually don't know of any plans to do digital distribution of the film, I'm sure that will be taken into account based on how well this campaign does. If it does well, we'll have enough to afford the domain, a box, a web designer and distribute the movie in all sorts of formats (mp4, avi, etc.) In various definitions as well (480p, 720p, 1080p). My original plan is to create around 50-100 CDs and distribute through Bandcamp. Digital distribution would be infinite though. If it sells, I'd definitely be willing to put more up for sale.
  5. Hey all! For the past 7-8 months I've been working on a soundtrack for a student film called "10". The premise of "10" is that it is about a man who seems to have no idea who he is or why he exists and the events that unfold, end up revealing the truth. It features a lot of both ambient and orchestral tracks, sometimes completely relying on the piano. The idea behind "10" was to make something dramatic, dark, and overall, melancholy. You can find out more here: http://facebook.com/10movie This was a big step for me as I'd never written a film score before or even considered doing music for a piece of media. It was a great experience and I hope to do it again in the future. I even had some help from Original Sound Version in getting it out there. Right now, as it stands, I lack the budget to produce mass physical CDs but as I've been a member on OCRemix for a good number of years now...I just wanted to see how many people might be interested in digital and physical formats of the soundtrack. So, the director and I have decided to run a distribution campaign: http://www.indiegogo.com/10Moviedistribution The more money he makes for the distribution of the DVD, the more money I can hope to spend for better quality materials on the soundtrack. Here are a couple images of the front cover and the disc: Front Cover CD Label Thanks for listening guys, this community has helped me grow beyond what I ever thought I could achieve and I'm glad I ended up here when I did. and also, just to give you an idea of what it sounds like, here ya go: http://soundcloud.com/jakesnke17/who-am-i-finished/s-jyLMy
  6. Good match, Main Finger. Best of luck with the next round. Hope I get a little more time to participate in the next compo (whenever that might be). Until then, great round everyone. Looking forward to what the next matchups bring. Looking at the positive: CHEMICAL PLANT ZONE LIVES ON! \m/
  7. Thanks man, glad you like. :P

  8. Very nice man, congrats on getting posted. This is an excellent mix, and I think I recall hearing it some time ago on Turntable or something (I could be mistaken)... Best of luck with future remixes, I look forward to hearing more posted work from ya.
  9. This is really quite gorgeous man. I only recently learned about the chapman stick a few weeks back thanks to a good friend of mine. But...to hear it played like this and used to create an amazing remix of one of my favorite tunes in Donkey Kong Country, all I can say is, you've created a huge nostalgic moment...at least in my opinion. I look forward to hearing more from you.
  10. Good friend of mine, and one of the reasons I got involved with video game remixing in the first place, thanks to a piece of sheet music he transcribed for me....years ago. He's always been impressive with his music, and I think you guys should all check it out.
  11. Hey guys! Just a quick word of promotion for a friend's new site. Has a couple cool ideas and a very well designed forum. It has a couple of features such as Reviews, News, and Game of The Week (trying to include an active community to sit and play a retro game throughout the course of a week and write their opinions on the game) It's called Gam1ng and their logo is "Where Gamers Unite" putting a strong emphasis on building a tight community of gamers who can get together and discuss topics ranging from gameplay mechanics to storylines of all sorts. Their goal is to become a recognized gaming forum/site, much like that of IGN/Kotaku. So they could use as much support as possible. Personally I'm excited to see where this goes and I wish them the best of luck. Feel free to check it out and Register to become a member if you feel so inclined. Link: www.gam1ng.com They also have an irc channel. Server: irc.paradoxirc.net Channel: #gam1ng Port: 6667
  12. Very cool man, the only thing I'd say is the kick could've been brought up a little more. But this remix stays pretty close to the source while also emphasizing the Progressive House genre. Dem chords. Look forward to hearing more.
  13. Awesome, thanks for looking into it Tuned Logic...I too was looking for this like crazy.
  14. I posted all over the place trying to figure it out. Even asked for the Part 1 track-list on his webpage and on his Facebook. Hopefully I can get some sort of response soon...then again, everyone could just flood his Facebook...and he'll have to answer. Either way, best of luck man, I tried.
  15. Hey there, sorry it's been a little while since I've updated this one. Been really trying to make it sound great and after a while this is what I've got...hopefully this is a little better than the last. Thanks for the large amount of feedback Emu, seriously...I appreciate it a ton, and after trying to create more complex synths...this is what results so...thanks again. As usual...all feedback is welcome, really wanna make this one great. Update: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3253668/GM%20wip%20%2314.mp3
  16. I really like what you've got here man, and while I like the beginning water effects, I pictured a very soothing soundscape to follow. It makes sense there's a large bass for a chillout mood, but...I would really love to hear a large ambient, (maybe whispy sounding, drone sounding) pad to really fill out some spots where nothing's happening. Some big chord that says, "Chhhhhilllll yoooo..." Just my two cents man, keep up the good work. EDIT: I realize this is finished but...maybe next time?
  17. Hey there Robotaki, good to see you're back to remixing. Wow, this sounds great. Hard to believe this is all soundfonts. Hope to hear the final version sometime soon. On a sidenote, ever plan on finishing that Manoria Cathedral Remix?
  18. Bumping for update. Touched up the intro a little but...I'm not so sure if I'm gonna keep it that way, hopefully things sound better than worse. Update: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3253668/GM%20wip%20%2313.mp3
  19. I dig the arrangement here, very chill. My only problem with it currently, is the drums. They remain constant throughout the whole song with the 16th hi-hat notes. If you EQed them, and possibly changed the velocity levels on the notes, you might find that accenting the hi-hat notes makes a big difference. Overall, the arrangement is strong but the production is lacking in some areas. I really like this man, keep up the good work.
  20. I actually had a chance last night to re-work one part of the song, you'll notice it got a little beefed up and hopefully, this is a taste of better things to come. ...who knows. Thanks for listening, you guys. Link: http://soundcloud.com/jakesnke17/gm-wip-new/s-rEjOu
  21. Wow, some awesome songs here, in this first round. Best of luck to the competitors in the Shoryuken Bracket.
