The title is from a VST effect by the same name which I used extensively in this project. http://tindeck.com/listen/zjla My fridge is broken which is bitter. Tomorrow PoE is officially released, that is sweet.

I see, cool. Thanks for the answers.

I started thinking about this when listening to the Bravely Default soundtrack. If a soundtrack has compressed music (in terms of size) for the cartridge/etc will the soundtrack be compressed when sold separately or will they use a different version?

The Music Software Deals thread
Dissidia replied to big giant circles's topic in Music Composition & Production
1/3 off http://www.soundsandeffects.com/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=25 Bunch of world instruments for Kontakt. There's not much information on how it was sampled and the quality of the samples unfortunately. -
I'd like to know this too. I was looking for anime items in EU (customs can be nasty). I think Ebay has some variety if you don't limit yourself since most of it is from America and Asia.

finished Title Theme for Cat Girl Without Salad
Dissidia replied to Blaz1222's topic in Post Your Original Music!
Sounds solid. I think it'll be interesting to hear some longer songs in the same vein. -
https://soundcloud.com/williamthurin/the-legend Took me way too long to render. I had to split it up into 3 parts (remove 2/3 of the VSTs each time and then render). What took the longest though was trying to find a way without having to do that. Got pops and crackles every time with the full project, maybe I should download some RAM.. Tell me what you think.

Yeah definitely expand. The beginning pre-piano totally sounds like a Tekken stage to me.

Others gamers who AREN'T down with all game violence?

"It's just a game." What is that statement even supposed to mean? -

There are actually a few paintball games, surprising. Still didn't find an airsoft game. Nerf Arena Blast looks like fun, unreal+quake but colorful to the max (and Nerf guns ofc). -

Made me think about a airsoft gun game, don't think I've ever seen one. Killing humans for little reason gets boring fast to me (GTA, Saints Row etc). I don't like the story or characters either so it's not my cup of tea overall. If there is back story or a PvP game like in GunZ 2 I don't mind it being shoot to kill each other. To me, in games like that it doesn't even feel like you are killing the player since you respawn in TDM and it's the same avatars every time (you could analyze this differently like they are dying over and over I guess). It doesn't convey the reaction of actually killing someone. I think it's kinda the same for GTA. If you kill civillians they use the same AI, same models etc (and same lines especially). It feels like killing AI (with few human characteristics, that aren't very reactive (same thing every time, few variations). If it was reactive and realistic in a video game to make you feel like it was a person and not AI, that'd be scary/heavy. I think it would be interesting able to kill important people in games but there should be consequences that have thought/branching behind them. Think The Last of Us (example because it feels like actual people) but imagine if you could kill someone before they turn on you, and branch the story that way. That sounds really hard to put in a game but I think it would be interesting to see (Heavy Rain sorta did this in a way I think? Choosing to kill someone or dying and the story continuing or branching). -
That is exciting indeed. Glad I have my D3 poster up from midnight release, maybe I'll get another one for the expansion if it will be a big release to join my other poster.

Melody. Although it's (usually) not the melody alone that does it for me, it's the biggest factor for me getting goosebumps from listening (which I really like). http://youtu.be/XlsWk-9UGT4?t=5m20s Like that part for me the first times I heard it, just eargasm straight up. Or Attack on Titan with the first opening (the second one too but not as much), the sung melody along with the lyrics is just the best to me, not to mention the instrumentation and structure of the song and the visuals of the opening, I just love it.

finished Sorrowful History - Orchestral
Dissidia replied to Dissidia's topic in Post Your Original Music!
Thank you. Yeah I know what you're saying but I don't feel like it would fit with too much for this theme. -

Thanks, the harmonies are mainly what makes it different from the original especially the strings. -

If you could have any game made by any developer...
Dissidia replied to Brandon Strader's topic in General Discussion
"Actually, scratch that. If this is a truly dream game, and you can have any publisher/developer you want, I would want a new Squaresoft Final Fantasy" - Melbu Frahma Amen. Attack on Titan game by From Software could be interesting. -
Story behind the song: A group of friends set out to make an airship (fantasy setting where there are no airships yet). It takes a long time and they make lots of memories along the way and face hardships such as friends leaving and it seeming like an impossible task. This song plays when they fly for the first time in their airship and experience a mix of joy and nostalgia. http://tindeck.com/listen/uhjm

Tendonitis & Musicians
Dissidia replied to AngelCityOutlaw's topic in Music Composition & Production
I was getting strained very quickly when playing flute prior to getting a thumb grip add-on. I can relate to what Gar was saying about working in store/storage/unpacking. I was afraid I'd snap my shit up and I was only there for two weeks. -

Ok I get what you mean. I would get EWQL orchestra gold if it was for Kontakt and didn't require an ilok. Albion is good but it's not the type of sound I want. I'm also not a fan of the low-mid-hi with no option to use only flutes instead of woodwinds hi for example. I was looking at Kirk Hunter Ruby too but there's not much user opinions on that either. I also don't know when or if that will be on sale. EDIT: Alright, I looked at the vocal demos and they sound nice, the bundle has a little too many of ones I don't want as much. If I could choose maybe half of them for cheaper instead, I'd definitely consider it. -

Which instruments in specific in which demos? Are the vocal samples mostly lines or phrases or one shots?
