  1. I don't care if I am double posting but this is tough! Beatrix is in 3/4 and Cry in Sorrow has no discernible key. The whole riff is based around 4 notes all within a half step of each other.

    Good luck and god speed!

After one day I realized this is loads tougher than I thought it was going to be. I know I am going to have some 'splaining to do when it comes to my use of Barrett's theme. It won't be immediately recognizable!

  2. I'm still holding out for SEGA to get their shit together and unleash the Dreamcast 2.

Dreamcast 2 Genesis 2 Saturn 2.... anything at this point that would get them back on track and be SEGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

  3. Great playing.

Of all the disney related game soundtracks on the genesis this one is probably my favorite track of all of them.

The ending doesn't really work mostly because you go from high energy drums to nothing. If the drummer has that much energy during the song i doubt that person would suddenly just stop playing. Keep it strong to the end and your ending will work just fine.

Other than that I think the upper mids across the track are too earsplitting as it's causing pain at even quiet volumes.

Can't wait to hear the finished version!

  4. Was downloading source tunes off of a file sharing site in 2004. I think it was kazaa because Youtube didnt yet have stuff like that and there was no way of getting them if you didn't have the game itself.

Downloaded this thinking it was a Streets of Rage source tune http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR00788/

Loved it and I noticed it had ocremix.org in the file name.

Have to agree with dio. Kaleb's the man.

  5. I know i'm usually pretty late to these kinds of things but I just found Dorkly Bits on youtube and now I see that a thread was already made for them two years ago...

If you haven't seen them they are hysterical.

  6. i also have one more question. i was thinking about getting the EWQL orchestral libraries but ive read many horror stories (go on amazon.com) about their support. it seems like there's a 40% chance of something major going wrong, e.g. won't install, constant crashes, major bugs etc.,

A huge burn mark was on Disc 3 of EWQLSO Gold when I bought it from them. After a quick call to CS they offered to send me a new disc 3 but refused my request to replace all of the discs and send me a new batch. REFUSED! when I had no idea if the discs beyond 3 were affected by the apparent mishandling and might not have installed at all.

It's a great library though. Just wish they would have included close mic options in Gold.

some people said their PLAY sample player is terrible always crash, and said to go kontakt sample player. can someone tell me what's a sample player?

btw any tips you want to give to a complete newb are welcome.

Play is a biznitch. It's CPU overload protection cuts PLAY at the worst times for me even when my CPU is no where near taxed. Nice GUI tho. Don't get me started on the ilok garbage. :)

A sample player plays collections of wavs called samples that are shaped through live recordings of the instrument. Instead of using a synthesizer to add/subtract harmonics to get something that kind of sounds like whatever you want to call it you are using something that's as close to the actual instrument as possible. The downside is that they take a large amount of system resources and are nowhere near as flexible. What you hear is what you get.

  7. Streets of Rage

I don't like to think about how I can solve my problems. Just walk down the street and beat the hell out of anything looking at me. Sooner or later that should get me to the root of the problem.

...Which I will then beat the hell out of.

    :)

and if for some reason I can't have that then I'd choose Twisted Metal for very very very similar reasons.

  8. I tend to end up console collecting whether I want to or not. My best steal was a Turbografx 16, Turbo CD, 14 games, arcade stick and multitap, with original boxes, instructions and even coupons - $40 at a hayseed Sevierville Pawn Shop.

I don't know how those games ever got to my neck of the woods in the first place, but they did and they're MINE now. >:D

What games did you get with it?

I love the Valis series on that system.
