I had read this, and upon my first listen, when this section hit, I agreed--AT FIRST--but I think it's only because it came in too abruptly. The sound actually works as the section progresses, just needs a smoother transition when it is introduced. I really do like all of the instruments you've chosen here. This is building to a success, I'm really looking forward to it!

Wholeheartedly agree with khoregard on all points. I have REASON now and i'm really excited about being able to make stuff like this. I don't know whether or not you are using reason to create this, but I've been doing a lot of practicing with it and I think its really fun when I can visualize and work out in my head how to make instruments that sound and phase like this. Can't give you any advice myself compositionally, I'm still a fledgling when it comes to getting those ideas going on my own -- I turn to listening to other songs and picking ideas from here and there. Regardless, the concept on this one is golden, keep up with it! It's already a strong mix with all but 2 or 3 instruments. EDIT: I just got a really nice idea -- HAHA! I realize that any time indexes have no doubt already changed in your song if you are currently working with it, but bear with me. Right before 2:00, when you go from the second melody back to the first, you should do one of those sections where you dump the beat for about 15 seconds. During this, make the instument that is the progressive lead distorted, but not phased-so the notes are long and drawn out-and continue with a slightly modified version of the same melody, when that section runs its course and feels long enough, snap back into the beat, drop the distortion, bring back the phase and go to the next melody. This has nothing to do with the remix at all, but I see it over here and I think it's pretty funny.

I'd say this is pretty goddamn epic. My advice: ditch the corny intro and refine some of the volume levels. The elements are really competing to overthrow one another, especially early on in the song, it seems that everything is set at MAXORZ and rarely changes. Simply finding a way to vary the volume levels throughout, or at least finding a better balance between the piano, synth, and drum line, would expand this arrangement a great deal. I really like the groovy feeling that the vocals bring, their rhythm and pacing really brings a smooth element to this piece.

Um... personal creative license anybody? There are so many ways to explain what happened here, problem is, nobody should have to explain it. Not even the artist. As a visual artist myself, I have to deal with this ridiculous layman-critique bullshit on a day to day basis, and it is maddening. Therefore you are going to get all the flak I can give you for this. I apologize in advance for the following: The use of modulating the notes in such a way could be used to make the source material more interesting. In this example, since you already know how the original tune goes and are expecting those particular notes, this presents a challenge to you the listener, ultimately making the composition more interesting and enjoyable overall, and over time. One could also simply agree that the change was made to better fit the purpose of the artist for this composition. To put it simply, in just a few words, this can be described as; "an intentional modification of the source material to create interest." There is a recurring theme here, can you tell what it is? Were you interested in those points you described in the song? Is that why you wrote about them? Don't bother replying, the answer is yes. But instead of taking them for what they were as interesting parts of an artist's rendition, you got right on here and just said that it was wrong. How could you miss the point so badly... It is small little instances of innocent stupidity like these that frustrate me to the point of laughter. I literally cannot react any other way than to simply laugh at this. The laughter is also brought about by the visualization of a three-legged hamster falling off of the wheel in this guy's brain. Anyways... Great job Willrock, here's to seeing this one on the 'Latest Remixes' board in not too long.

I got nothing from reading that review... except for a bad taste in my mouth. There were no real critiques of any work that anybody could do anything with, just an overwhelming mass of the words awesome, good, bad... these tell me nothing musically. Basically, it reads, "This track, based on this song, was poop. This track based on this song, was way awesome." Top-shelf of djpretzel to comment a thanks to the author of that blog, but seriously, that was some garbage review. Idiot. The reviewer seems to dwell on his own attitude that he deserves better free music out of all of your free time. Shame on you all for not giving us better work. I hate you all, I'll go write a blog post.
