  1. What was this made with? It totally sounds like it could have been on the Street Fighter EX2 arcade soundtrack
  2. Hello Jewbei, since I can't write you a PM I'll write you here.

I've got a quick question about your Megaman 8 remix. What did you use to get it so spacious? There's obviously more to it than panning and reverb, am I right?

I hope you will answer my question, unless I've touched one of your most treasured secrets

    Regards

    Yami

  3. Interesting version, but I think it's too repetitive and the wobble sounds like a croaking frog (but perhaps that might be intended). And I think it might be too close to the source, but I'm not entirely sure, perhaps someone else might answer that.
  4. Some changes of the bassline again. I like it very much, and for me it might be finished, unless someone more qualified has serious problems with it. http://soundcloud.com/yaminokeshin/my-hometown-on-algol-ii-v8 BTW, jumping directly from WIP to Mod-Review isn't allowed, right?
  5. Let's see what I made from the example http://soundcloud.com/yaminokeshin/my-hometown-on-algol-ii-v7
  6. Thank you for the example, I'll definitely listen to it. This will help me a lot because I thought I understood the concept of off-beat, but when I first tried it, it didn't really work out, so perhaps when I listen to an example I'll get it better. And I'm looking forward to hearing your next take on the bridge theme
  7. I can't say too much about the production issues, because I don't hear any (but since I'm a noob, this doesn't have to say much). Concerning the synths, I'm not sure if I like the main synth better than the last one, but all synths summed up are even better than last time. The arrangement has more variations as well. Again, I really really like it. BTW, I was in a really bad mood when I woke up this morning, and this cheered me up a bit
  8. I don't know if this is the right forum and I know a lot of albums are in queue right now, but I think the Rockman World series, meaning the Megaman series on the Game Boy needs some lovin. Especially II and V, because II has completely new music for the bosses and V because it has bosses never seen before. I'm planning to do a Needle Man remix of II in the future, but this has to wait until I'm good enough
  9. Changes: Put the volume of the pads down and the volume of the bassline a bit up Changed the speedy clap to a cymbal and added a slight sweep to this part http://soundcloud.com/yaminokeshin/my-hometown-on-algol-ii-v6
  10. How about this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gViPgIJwMw0 I think an orchestral version would be awesome or something rocking, or possibly both
  11. Ok, tried a bit different drumming, some changes to the bassline and I realized my pads in the later parts were played by the wrong instruments http://soundcloud.com/yaminokeshin/my-hometown-on-algol-ii-v5
  12. Hey Jean, thanks for pointing things out. First of all, I know it's a basic techno thing and it sounds like earlier remixes, but 1) techno is what I was going for 2) I don't have the experience yet for making more elaborate mixes Ok, then I need to work a bit on the percussion, thanks for mentioning. I think I'll try experimenting with some off-beats. I heard this kind of clap effect rather often (at least I think it was a clap) and I always wanted to try that thing out. This sound at the end left me puzzled as well, I thought it was a plugin running wild, but it was just some strange delay feedback which kept playing, it is gone in my last version of the song. BTW, the bridge theme from Darkwing Duck is my favorite theme in the whole game, and I really really like your take on it
  13. I'm not that familiar with SO3, because I only played it for a few hours and haven't really listened to the OST, so I can't help with that. But I still have a track from my favorite Star Ocean (being the first), Crevice http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IkmTG9X13Sw
  14. Finally someone with feedback, yay! "Go West"? I had to listen to it first, but now that you mention it, there's a similarity, but this part is from the source. I didn't think the clap is repetitive, but since it's from me my views might differ, so I'll work on the clap a bit (and of course I'll turn the volume down a notch) Concerning orchestral sounds. Perhaps it could work, but I've never done anything orchestral and I don't have good orchestral instrument samples.
  15. Nothing much, just a bit change in the bassline... http://soundcloud.com/yaminokeshin/my-hometown-on-algol-ii-v4
  16. It's a tad bit repetetive, but I definitely like the style, I'm really looking forward when this track is finished
  17. Thanks, I'll try it out sometime (After all I've done to this track I don't think this one wouldn't work out as dubstep, because it's too cheery)
  18. Well, I did the old "change the cutoff LFO frequency" trick. But I know less about D'n'B than about dubstep, so this would be more difficult. Concerning standing out, it is the direct opposite for me. This song is the only one from the PSIV soundtrack that stuck out for me and it is one of my favorite VGM tunes ever. But everyone has a different taste
  19. Added a delay to the first bassline. http://soundcloud.com/yaminokeshin/my-hometown-on-algol-ii-v3
  20. I gotta finish this sometimes. My girlfriend knows the ending but I don't. When talking about the soundtrack, I think the other two parts of the Soul Blader "trilogy" should get some love too (I know, there are 2 (I think) mixes for Illusion of Gaia, but I don't think there's one for Soul Blader)
  21. Some minor changes. http://soundcloud.com/yaminokeshin/my-hometown-on-algol-ii-v2 Feedback anyone?
