  1. I'll admit I've been running on assumptions and previous experience w/PRC and MnP, which discourage self-voting but gives you a voting bonus of a 1st place vote added to your own submission simply for voting. If I had known that it was allowed I wouldn't have said anything. Of course I wouldn't have voted for myself [this round] because I really don't like my submission, but I would have been ok with it.

Maybe WillRock should put a self-voting policy in the first post to mitigate confusion, because I'm certainly confused at this point.

  2. i really enjoyed this, although i was a bit confused by one thing that came back way too often to ignore. when thor hit cap's shield in avengers, it did what 'vibranium' was supposed to do and nullified the impact completely (like when he used to get shot, the bullets would drop to the floor). in this movie, though, how come when people punched him in the shield, he got knocked back? there shouldn't be any impact force on the metal.

Maybe it had to do with the fact that he had braced himself against Thor's hammer swing in The Avengers, and in this movie he hadn't done so? That is quite the inconsistency, I wouldn't have noticed that.

  3. And I should really be keeping my mouth shut here, but...even though my intention to participate is purely for the fun of it, I see it as a prick move to cast a vote on yourself, and placing that vote at #1 is just asinine. I sincerely hope you edit that for the good of everyone else.

I'm inclined to agree. I don't know how WillRock planned to interpret this (whether to toss the 1st place vote in question or to count it or what), but I was wondering if there was a way to mitigate this sort of thing. "thou shalt not vote for thine own cover"?

  4. All right guys, it's finally happened. I have said that I would never work out for any reason. It's boring, tiring, and I feel like you don't get anything out of it. I will lose all my weight doing cardio and dieting. I've been trying that for years and I can't get rid of my extra weight and I'm stuck at 210. zero carb diet got me down 20 lbs, but it has stopped working and there's only one thing left to try.

If you look at my figure, my arms and legs are very muscular without any body fat. I can seriously leg press 650 lbs. But if you look at my trunk, there's a lot that I can get rid of. And after years of cardio (running, ultimate frisbee, basketball, DDR) and dieting, it hasn't gotten any better. What I need is an actual exercise that I can use to get rid of torso fat that does not include sit-ups. Please help. I don't know anything about working out.

Only thing that I can personally think of for worthwhile torso exercise is swimming. I don't mean a few laps either, I mean several thousand yards/meters (depending on the pool size) a day, 5 days/week. Go heavy on your kicks too, specifically the dolphin kick.

If swimming isn't your thing, then I don't know what to say. Anyone else got any ideas?

  5. I actually don't use a DAW, unless you count MuseScore as a DAW. In reality, I am completely in the dark about the finer points of remixing. But, if you could recommend a DAW, that would be great! I'll see what I can do with MuseScore, and I should have a new version up soon.

(BTW-I might not be able to do a live recording, so any help making this more houan is definetly welcome.)

Hey, here it is, updated, now called Storm Bosses.

well, looks like this thread had fallen through the cracks of my subscribed threads list.

I've only used three DAWs, and only one of them (FL Studio and, less frequently, GarageBand) in passing. If I were to recommend something, I'd say try Mixcraft 6.

As for my quip about "humanization", this refers to the use of imperfect timing as well as velocity changes on different instruments to make it seem like someone played it live instead of synthesized by a computer. I don't know if you can imitate this is a notation software like MuseScore.

If you wanna look at a DAW, take a look at Mixcraft, run its trial mode (14 days, when the trial ends you lose the ability to 'mix down' to mp3, but you can extend the trial by a few days - I'd save that for a really rainy day), and if you like it, go ahead and buy it. It's only around $80, and there are plenty of other DAWs that cost more for versions with fewer features (looking at you FL Studio and Ableton Live!).

  6. Incorrect. I nought Komplete 3 on a sale. No cross grade or nothing. Also in 2012:

    http://www.sonicstate.com/amped/2012/11/23/native-instruments-thanksgiving-sale/

It happens but rarely. Best best, as afore mentioned, is to snag one of the products on a sale that allows for the cross grade to Komplete.

Actually, if we scroll down the page a bit...

  7. not sure about anyone else, but the midi wont play for me, and it does nothing when trying to load it into FL. the song on youtube sounds nice though, i might do something for this.

EDIT: going to http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/snes/ and getting it there works.

it appears that recently, files hosted on ThaSauce don't load correctly, some kind of server issue. Click directly on the thasauce midi link (no right click> save as) to see what I mean
