  1. Currently, I am looking for a soundfont (or maybe a synth) that can recreate the sound of a Tesla coil. Preferably a soundfont. I am sure that we have all at least heard of people using tesla coils to play (not so) small melodies just by adjusting pulse frequencies, coil power, blah blah blah etc. I am hoping to find something that can reproduce this. Does anyone know where to find such a soundfont?
  2. Hey! It's nice to see this on OCR! Yeah, this section isn't really dubstep... It's more like a blend of techno and trance, not really dubstep at all. If you want to, you can make two seperate songs- one metal, and the other would be teh synth part. Are you familiar with dubstep shawn?
  3. In the meantime, the minecraft forums seem to be down due to a Curse Network issue. According to Curse, it could be 5 more hours before the forums are usable again... That means 5 more hours before I can try this Zelda Adventures... EDIT: aaaaand the OCAD server is still down. Level 99 can you fix pleaz?
  4. hmm... shouldn't you try to orient this into a position somewhat similar to the GM standard for percussion i.e. drumset around C3, orchestral percussion starting around G4, etc? I think this would be easier (for me, that is) instead of picking around middle C for the right sounds. ... In fact, I think I will open this up in Viena and work on it... tommorow.
  5. See three or so posts down Awesome You're not sounding like a jerk. I noted on this about three or four posts ago. So, when you get your story idea finalized, are you going to post it in the first post, or would you instead PM it to all active members of this project? (Which wouldn't officially mean me yet...) Can't wait!
  6. 9 out of 10 it's probably not... I don't know what the fanbase of OLR is - for that you would have to ask Xenon Odyssey, but I am almost sure it's less than that of OCR. And for that matter, if/when your song makes it, then there would be less people listening for it if it was on OLR than if the Judges pass it here.
  7. Alright, Callum, we have two ways to look at this song: One is from the perspective of Daisy, right before she dies. In this case, we would need a female vocalist. The other is the Rands point of view, looking back in retrospect. Or we could combine them. Your pick.
  8. okay. well, I live in a rural area, so there aren't that many street corners to play on. Also, people will just look at you, listen for a while, then pass on. Sorry about the drug comment, heh. It just goes to show how I'm ready to expect anything from anyone I don't know too well... Back on topic: Do you have any ideas for the lyrics, based off of Daisy's death scene? EDIT: Just realized that the echo you were talking about was the delay- it has a bad habit of remembering whatever it was applying it's effect to, so if it is stopped abruptly, it replays this memory delay back into the playback- even during song rendering. other than that, the delay's fine
  9. To any wandering moderator, we are actually on-topic, except for this post of mine. If we need to, we will keep this discussion to PM
  10. Is this some New Zealand slang word? I live in the US, so I don't really know NZ slurs and slang words If you mean drugs, then that's just not my thing
  11. as I said in my bio, I'm 14 years old and have no income... I could if I would, but I can't, so I won't
  12. ok... what about .mx5 files? The reason I ask is because I didn't record a single note of the song- it's all done by virtual instruments, and I used mixcraft-only virtual instruments except for Revitar 2.0, which I used for the guitar parts and the power chord riff in the chorus This was why I asked, not for simplicity (okay, yes for simplicity), but also (in theory) that you could look to see how the other person worked each instrument to make the product, or to see what the added/changed, i.e. in a collab
  13. Not to be a bother, but how about you go and Download a free trial of MixCraft 5. This will make the file sending easier, and you can see what part is what. It's a 14-day trial, and when the trial ends, the only limitation will be that you can't render to an MP3 or burn a cd (but I have ways around that, obviously). Another plus is that I only used one vst that isn't supplied by Mixcraft, but it's freeware, so I can probably send it without issue.
  14. Fortytwo! Sorry. *clearsthroat* Anyway, having a DAW makes it easier to view files and to share WiPs because they are in their native format and don't need to be rendered. And it would make it a hell of a lot easier for me to share the file with you instead of bypassing all of the end-of-trial bullsh*t that Mixcraft has. On a side note, do you think that I should get rid of the organ bit? What about the saxophone part? I know it sounds out of place, but...
  15. DAW Digital Audio Workstation like, say, Mixcraft 5, for example (what I use) You won't have to rap, I hope... I sure won't, so that won't really be a problem. Has the file worked yet?
  16. OverLooked ReMix olrolrolrolrolrolrolrololr definitely olr material. I like this. I'm glad I speak fast so I could almost understand the little talking part with the snowman- and the blue shell part. haha! You might want to adjust the volume on the lyrics, because when you sing the lower notes, your voice sort of fades away and I can't hear it. Everything is ice Everything is ice However! Again, the backing was too static. You need to add a little... creative flair to the background track(s) because they get boring after the umpteenth time you hear it.
  17. Eh, I realized that I slipped a piano part in the file I sent you. It was a filler for lyrics, but I realized there is one part where it stands out like a sore thumb.

  18. Hey, Callum, what DAW, if any, do you use? I'm looking over what I have right now, and I think it's taking on a distinct Linkin Park style. I'm not sure if this will work, but I'm getting ready to bind up a WiP to send you Callum. Tell me what you do and don't like, and I will see what I can fix real quick.
  19. Okay, well, I think I will have to give details via PM. So far, what I have is a minute or so of... something, but I will have to rewrite it a little bit. It's amazing what you can do with a high-quality free guitar synth (which DOES exist) and a high-quality amp simulator... I would be working on it, but I am at a Photoshop Digital Animation camp until 5 today (10pm GMT?), But I will work on it when I get home
  20. Dammit! My creativity has gone up and died, and I've been temporarily "sterilized" when it comes to a way to remix these tracks... I will have to pull out of the project. No Homo EDIT: Well, I hope Tuber can help me correct/redo a guitar/bass part, because I think I just came up with a rock version of You Must Live! Sure it'll need lyrics, but right now it needs a main structure... If I can, I will put up a WiP here publicly for you guys. (until the WiP is up, don't mark me down for it Brian)
  21. Hmm... Just noticed the filesize could be smaller, but that might be due to the fact that I used uncompressed files that were fully editable within my imaging program Macromedia Fireworks, now owned by Adobe Is this a problem for anyone else, such as DSL or DialUp users?
  22. aaand on the subject of the signatures, I have updated the pictures to fit the height limit. The image urls should still be the same. Also, on an unrelated note, I was thinking about the Overworld 2 in BoF I. I was wondering if it would be okay if it was done sea-chantey style.
