  1. Losing My Virginity This is a pornstep song I made while drunk for the OHC but started it late and didn't submit it cuz I wanted to finish it. I think it turned out pretty damn good. Let me know what you think!
  2. That google comic inspired me to make this. just thought I'd share it. Let me know what you think! Running Thru Mushroom Forest
  3. Actually, KM I purposefully didn't alter the main melody. Because it's perfect. Now during the bridge, I added a counter melody in the flute, but I guess you didn't hear that. Ask for "more focus on the mixing" I'm going to need you to elaborate a little. I used several techniques to get the song the way I wanted, such as automating the volume level, apply parametric eq effects, compression, and multiple filters. So, I'm not sure what you mean dude.
  4. I know this song has been remixed a million ways, but a friend asked me to do a hip-hopesqe remix and I obliged. Figured I might as well post it up here. Tell me what you guys think. terraredux
  5. SUGGESTIONS ARE AWESOME! Thank you guys. I'll get to work on using the EQ to thin out the mid range a bit and phatten up the bass. TheRexAsaurous, I can take out the hey listen if you'd like. I personally like Navi tho I uploaded the first version of the song (which doesn't have "HEY LISTEN" in it and is less mastered) to soundcloud so here's that link: soundcloud version And I'm going to tweak this and hopefully have a updated version and then post that link. Thanks for the feedback guys!
  6. Thinking about submitting this one. Yea or nae? What do you guys think? Link: ZELDA'S DUBSTEP LULLABY
  7. Cyclone - Baby Bash....I didn't know who sung this song until right now... THANKS PANDORA!!
  8. Hey, thanks guys! I appreciate the help and the feedback! And, FYI that's me. That clip and the clip of me drinking a pitcher of beer was my director/producer guest cameo
  9. So me and some friends entered a contest to make a jingle for a pizza restaurant and my entry is currently in third place. Because I don't have tiger blood like Charlie Sheen, I didn't expect it to do this well. But since it is, I'm thinking that if I got a little help from you guys, I could get first place. I'm begging you guys to help me out and go to this link and vote for my song: Mellow Mushroom Blues by vabrew And if you don't want to vote for my song, you can just give me feedback on the song. And if you don't want to give me feedback, you can just mute your computer and watch it to see a cute asian walking at various camera angles.
  10. If you are pursuing a career in music you have to decide if you are going to focus on music performance or music creation. Either way, you'll be doing both, but deciding which you want to be your bread and butter will give you a clear path to take (as clear as a music career path can be). If you want to perform then expect lots of gigs, touring, and generally NOT being in the studio (whether it's in your home or elsewhere). If you want to create music then you'll be in the studio...a lot...probably too much. Either way, the importance of networking cannot be stressed enough. I'm pretty sure everybody on this site can produce a better song than the disasters of Kim Kardashian and Rebecca Black, but if nobody knows who you are, it doesn't matter. Networking increases your sphere of influence, your potential fanbase, the resources that are available to you, and a bunch of intangible things as well (like luck). One other thing I'll say is that outside of performing, music is usually something that is done behind the scenes (meaning it's made to accompany something else 9 times outta 10). I say that to drive home the point that a career in music requires you to think outside the box. You won't find ads in the paper requesting the aid of a producer to write a companies new jingle or that song that's playing during a commercial. Well, you might, but it won't be often and the competition is going to be fierce. You've got to get yourself out there, CREATE work for you to do (whether that's setting up gigs or literally writing songs), make sure people know who you are, and then people will seek you out....maybe. That's my two cents, hope that helps a little.
  11. Wait what!? Today's the day the world is supposed to end you say!?
  12. take me there - grover washington jr to be followed by come as you are - mindi abair yup, today is a jazz kind of morning
  13. Dude...give it a rest. We don't want to see you play video games. And we don't know who you even are really so I'm not sure people are going to trust you at all. I'm not saying your idea is trash...actually, that's exactly what I'm saying. You should take what you've learned here and start revising your plan of attack. If you want the community to rally behind you and raise money for Japan, than go post your ideas in the Japan Earthquake thread. This "pay me to play video games but I'm not keeping any of the money" idea is not going to get any real ground, at least not in this forum.
  14. Obtuse...why haven't you mentioned this during/after/before OHC!? I want to participate in one of these!
  15. Sci! That was fantastic. Sorry bout your semester, but if it gets you to right music like that then...I guess it's all bad:?: And FYI, I'm sad that I missed OHC this week soooooo I will listen to each one of the songs in give my opinion on each song in my vote description box. That way you guys can know what stupid things I would have said IF i had of been there for the listening party.
  16. I think we should schedule a PRC listening party. It gives people insta-feed back (which is what most of us are looking for), and it's fun for socializing and general wackiness. I know that's part of what's so appealing about the OHC; which happens once a week, but sees a HUGE turn out. If the PRC stuck to its you-have-one-week-to-remix-this-song, and then the listening party happened at the end of said time period, I'm sure plenty of people would put that in their schedules (and maybe even hastily load something up). Also the listening party allows you to remind people of the next event and remind people to vote. Another thing the PRC is lacking is publicity. I feel there was a steep decline in PRC participation when OCR forums decided to create a competition thread. Hell...this is the FIRST time I've even looked at this sub-forum in...I think two years! A lot of new OCRians don't even know what the PRC IS! which is horrible. Maybe if you attended the OHC listening party and then did what JHsounds does (SPAM THE FUCK OUT OF HIS COMPO) then the PRC would see more participation simply due to increased awareness. As for a month long remix period, (I case you couldn't tell) I disagree. Giving you just one week forces you to sit down and remix, if you run into a problem you have to overcome or workaround cuz you don't have all the time in the world to dick around. Hell, when I was participating I did most of my remixes the day of (which would probably explain why I never got first place). In fact, I'm thinking I might upload a mix for this particular compo, but I won't have time until tomorrow...which'll give me about a day to do it (hurray for maintaining tradition!). And it's that time crunch that I think is part of the challenge. Otherwise its just "hey do a mix when ever you get a chance to this obscure song and maybe someone will vote on it." Where's the fun in that!? (I know I've moved into the rant zone, but I've been up for 24hrs and I don't care) Not to sound like an old fogie, but I remember when we would actively comment and critique each others entries in the forum. This was ended cuz there was a concern a well written critique could sway votes. But it was those very critiques that helped me learn what people wanted out of my music! Without them, I just got upset and confused cuz I couldn't understand why I wasn't winning/getting more votes (no bull!) I don't know. I know I'm rambling but I really do think that the PRC's biggest problems are A) nobody knows about it and there's no benefit to submitting an entry. Benefit's don't have to be actual prize. Just the chance of have 5, 10, or even 20 people hear your song is a benefit that most musicians will gladly give up a weekend for. I know that's what keeps me coming back to the OHC week after week. OK...rant over.
  17. lmao @ DAYTOOOONAAAAAAAAA!! urprised no one has mentioned Plok. I love the music in that game, but some of it was unnecessarily epic and other were just plain weird. (like have the ) And others still we cute and happy...when you were in a and here's a link to the beach level cuz it's true one of the most epic video game songs EVAR (and unique due to a very odd ball time signature): *I'm pretty sure the time signature to the beach level is 7/8 then a sudden change to 4/4 then a sweet ass guitar solo then 7/8 again. And I'm pretty sure I've never heard another vg song with a 7/8 time signature.
  18. Let me get this straight...you want a bunch of video game music writing people to NOT play video games or write music, instead we should watch you play games...and pay you to do it? I'm not sure I'm following.
  19. I agree. The lyrics are soooooooooooo garbage. "Yesterday was Thursday, Thursday. Today it is Friday, Friday. We we we so excited. we so excited. We gonna have a ball today. Tomorrow is Saturday. And Sunday comes afterwords." ....seriously. That's all someone could come up with!? Now, I'm no fabulous lyricist, but come on people! My 5 yr old son could do a better job!
