  1. Hey! You still working on "Bite Me"?

  2. You probably don't know or remember me, but I thought I'd say "Hi".

Are you still working on the TTYD track? That thing's amazing!

Also, you never got around to making feedback on my track, like you said. But if you're busy, that's fine.

  3. *sigh* okay... I'll change this back to Finished and leave it alone for a while...
  4. Okay. Here's another version. I was using a lot of Halion samples, which was what many people were saying sounded bland, so I've changed them. I've also made a few other changes: http://soundcloud.com/evan-mcardle/shadow-serenade I don't really know what more I can do with this now...
  5. What's happening with this one? Are you still working on this?
  6. Absolutely amazing! I love every aspect of this song! No complaints at all!
  7. I'm just wondering...where would tribute songs go on OC Remix? Y'know, songs that talk about video games, but to the tune of a song in pop culture, or to an original song. Is "Originals" the place to do this? Is there another website that takes these? Has this issue been raised before? If not, can we get this stickied? I'd much appreciate an answer to at least one of these questions.
  8. Update: Guitar is no longer obnoxiously loud when the electronic drums come in. The crackling heard is part of the drum loop, and I'm keeping that in, since breaking the peaceful mood was my intention. Near the end, the guitar is replaced with a short, original piano piece, which fits better, in my opinion. I learnt how to do a wobble bass effect (kind of), so now it sounds more like I had first imagined. I was meant to add some vocals, which is meant to be the Shadow Queen's voice, just before the drums, but I haven't yet. Here:http://soundcloud.com/evan-mcardle/shadow-serenade
  9. Okay, I think it's done. I don't exactly understand how to make the background music "not static".
  10. Did you change your username? I wasn't aware that could be done.
  11. Wow...I've got a lot of work still to do. I've made some changes to the piece, according to Level 99's review. I'm not ready to put up the next version yet, but here are some things I've done: - Better processing; Instrument replacements: I've changed the samples of the drums, strings and Piano. - Less repetition: Altered some drum loops - Improving transitions: All transitions are a lot smoother (I think I've got the one at 1:00, now) - Quiet, wet snare: Problem solved, due to sample change. - Bass covering the low-mid frequency range: Dropped the bass that was in mid-range down one octave. I have a few problems, however: - i know how to quantise on Cubase, but I don't know how to humanise the lengths. - If I take out the harpsichord melody at any point that it is playing, the song sounds empty and lacking. - I can't seem to find any room in the piece to put anything original. Thanks for your help.
  12. Is Z130 still active? I don't think he's posted anything since last year.
  13. Oh, dear...I just looked at overlooked remix, and...umm...no. Gario, it was a good suggestion in theory, but I don't think I want to be affiliated with them. They look like a bunch of trolls. Now I may be wrong, but out of what I have seen on their website, it just doesn't look like a community I would want to be a part of.
  14. UPDATE! I put a bit more variation in the music, and re-sung the lyrics (I haven't gotten around to re-singing the harmony, though). Following a thing called "speech-level singing", I decided to sing the same way I speak, which is Australian, which is obvious when you listen to the song. @Gario: By OLR, did you mean the Old Lady of the Rose? Are you sure they'd want to hear a secular video game song? Is this about what happened on the other forum? @Cvramen: I think you might be thinking of "Walking on Sunshine". Many of my friends noticed this similarity too, so I decided to go with it. You'll notice a shout-out to it just before the "Everything is ice, Everything is ice!" part near the end. @Rozovian: I kinda liked it that way, but I have altered it a bit. But why didn't you listen to the lyrics? You're missing the important message of the song.
  15. TRACK IS HERE: http://soundcloud.com/evan-mcardle/dedede-old-friend I sent this in a while ago, but it fell through the cracks. So, before I sent it again. I decided to change a few things, like adding the other Dedede theme, to make it sound less monotonous. : (I based this off the first and fifth versions) Bubbly Clouds (but in a minor key) Green Greens (to finish off the song; also in a minor key)
  16. If that doesn't work, go here: http://snd.sc/mCeGTY As far as I know, nobody has put lyrics to this yet. I came up with the first verse and bridge at a friend's house: we were playing a N64 on an old analogue TV, with the brightness turned up too high. I don't exactly know what "I swear on my Kart" means exactly, but it sounds important. You can probably tell that I don't like Bowser's tendency to throw his weight around (unless, of course, I'm playing as Bowser), and the CPU's habit of stealing the item that you were just about to get. I sent this to the Judges, and they pointed out two problems: "The vocal recording is clipping really hard, adding some unwanted distortion to the track". "The backing track is too static sounding as well, and needs more variation". Could someone please tell me (or link me to someone that can tell me) how to fix these problems? Also, aside those two issues, what do you think? And here's the source files:
  17. http://soundcloud.com/evan-mcardle/shadow-serenade This was originally meant to be a peaceful, soothing version of the action-packed Final Boss theme at the end of Paper Mario 2 (Thousand Year Door). Those who know the context of the song may find this disturbing (especially when I add the Shadow Queen's voice later). The song's style changes roughly around the middle, and changes back later on. Tell me what you think about this (and other aspects). Shadow Queen's Theme: http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/gamecube/PM_Ttyd_Final_Battle.mid and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71mazbRqsi4 Shadow Siren's Theme: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6RN0BqiG4_Q Also, a BIG shout out to FaytxStay, who has been working on his own version of this song for, like, a year. @Everyone else: please don't compare our ReMixes to each other.
  18. Thanks for your feedback. I'm glad you like this song. I know what you mean. my voice used to be better before I had music programs, since I'd be singing every day, Instead of composing most of the time. I personally don't like blatantly obvious auto-tuned voices, but I'll give it a go. Thank You. Thankyou. Thankyouthankyouth anky outha nkyo uthan kyou moooooooooonsiiiiiiiiiiidddddddeeeeeeeeeeeee! ...That really helps me. ...D'oh. I just had a stupid moment. I completely forgot that emeralds are green. Umm..."ruby eye" doesn't sound right. Could you please help?
  19. As I said, I thought it might interest you. If it didn't, then don't worry about it.

  20. In response to something you said on the Christian forum, I thought that this is a website that might interest you.

    http://creation.com/

I decided to PM this, since my earlier post kinda changed the whole topic.

  21. Crossing a Pikachu and a Goron? So "electric/rock pokemon"?

You get the soundtrack to 'Kirby 64'.

  22. Here's an updated version: http://ocrwip.fireslash.net/?fid=1204 - The snare is a bit softer - The instruments fade out like they are supposed to. - Lyrics added (except for those two lines) - Added compressors on some instruments (needed two for the Ocarina) - Added panning on some instruments. - Other stuff that I can't remember.
  23. Sounds good. I thought of Luigi roaming around the mansion with earphones on, connected to his GameBoy Horror (now with MP3 capabilities), bopping his head to the music and sucking up them ghosts with an "I'm so awesome" look on his face. - If you added a Boo laugh once or twice in the song, it would and another dynamic to the whole piece. - The instrument that comes in at 0:30 sounds like it has a chorus effect on it, as it periodically gets sharp and flat. I personally think it should be taken off the instrument. - Good job at making it build up and drop throughout the song. I didn't hear the original version, but by reading the comments, I can tell that you've made a lot of improvements in this area. I have Reason, but I just can't understand how to work it properly. Ah well, Cubase is easier.
