  1. Great, I got Jeff Ball's info. We have 23 people confirmed for this meetup. It is a meetup and not a convention or a festival with a set schedule, we are not going to be able to travel around as a group. The twitter idea is to keep people informed without having to call up 22 other people - If you are unable to use your cell, being an exception we will likely just have someone assigned to call your room to keep you informed of the whereabouts. The twitter page is also available if you browse to it on your iPad or other wireless device maybe you can set it up to email you alerts or make some noise for your scenario. Every meal will not be planned, only certain events on certain nights. We will be sending out twitters to let people know if something is up, and people are going places. That said, the registration I've been collecting is to help us determine rides for specific events that we do plan. This is because some people would prefer not to be around drinking or gambling, and these people should be assigned to the same vehicles so that drivers don't have to go anywhere they don't want to. We will be planning to go to a park at some point to celebrate the multiple birthdays, and a rough schedule will be posted before the trip. People will be waking up at different times and will be free to explore the city for several hours before we decide to meet up. I don't feel this is going to be the tightest of meetups, and one room will be too small to fit everyone in. It is likely we will be meeting in lobbies or at the destinations. When a couple people want to wander around in the casino across the street to gamble, we'll tweet/call about it and whoever wants to show up is free to. Katie, Ashley and myself will be putting together a rough schedule which will be posted within the next couple of days. Hopefully everyone registered by August 1st (after midnight, guys!) since the trip is in only a couple of days. This will include rooming and riding information for everyone going, so that no one is in the dark. I will provide contact information (most people gave a cell #) to roommates and drivers. If you have any suggestions about specific activities, such as restaurants or shows, or came across an awesome deal, let one of us know via IRC Thanks guys!
  2. LOL i wasn't telling you to youtube on the plane. I was telling you to read a book on the plane haha Yes, you can bring ibuprofen.
  3. Also, I carry a small duffel for trips shorter than a week. It's small enough to sit under the seat in front of me, since there is a size limit on carry-ons. I normally fly Southwest so checked bags are free, but be aware that on other airlines they may charge up to $35 for you to check a suitcase. There is lots of information about what you can and can't put in your carry on here: http://www.tsa.gov/311/311-carry-ons.shtm The TSA website has lots of information for first time flyers. I used to chew gum on flights and bring all sorts of books and games for my DS but I learned to pretty much sleep from take-off to landing Generally what I do for short visits is pack up my duffel with clothing, put my toothbrush in a ziploc baggie and if I have to bring my own shampoo/conditioner/soap/toothpaste I can get a travel kit from Walmart or Target - they sell little bags with perfect size containers, and some that are already filled up and ready to pack. Don't bring aerosol cans or food in your carry on- they'll nab you for any liquids or gels that aren't under 3.4 ounces so you will have to buy a water bottle or drink after you get through security. You will want to check if your flight will be serving food- if not, once you've passed through security grab yourself a lunch while you're waiting. I try to get to the airport 1 hour before a domestic flight, especially if I'm checking bags. Airlines cannot guarantee your bag will make your flight your bag gets there with less than 45 minutes to load it up. If you're not checking bags, most airlines will let you check-in online or at a kiosk where you will print your ticket, then you can head straight to security. I like to wear big fuzzy socks with slip-on shoes so I can take them off quickly for screening, also so I can keep my toesies warm during the flight At the security checkpoint you will need to take off your belt, wallet, take everything including coins out of your pockets and put them in a bin to run them through the X-Ray machine. Your carry-on bag will also go through the X-Ray. Then you, shoeless, will walk through the metal detector and hopefully not cause a scene XD collect your bags and personal belongings, then scurry over to your terminal where you will wait until your plane begins boarding. tl;dr: Wear shoes that are easy to take off, don't pack water bottles in your carry-on, make sure your carry-on bag is small enough to fit under the seat in front of you or in the overhead bin, and read a book.
  4. Excellent, we are rooming at the Flamingo so one of you two can make reservations there
  5. Please let me know by August 1st since if you do not confirm, we will need to find other reservations and arrangements for him. Thank you for the registrations today, we are up to 20 confirmed. This is an OPEN meetup posted on public forums. It is a ridiculous notion to think it is OK to tell people they cannot come, or that they are unwelcome in an entire city. Please, be respectful.
  6. Brandon: We're going to be in VEGAS, baby. I don't think anyone is bringing instruments. This isn't really a meetup for sitting in your room playing guitar when OMG VEGAS is right outside. There will, however, be karaoke. Hemo: Gario will be driving in but I know you're a bit south of him. He was offering rides, maybe you can meet up with him and catch a ride to Vegas with him. I've asked Longe if he could try to get a ride with him too, but I'm not sure that they've talked. I'm driving in and leaving a couple days early too. As for rooming, if Stevo and Gario are rooming then Obtuse is the only one left that needs a roommate. I believe he only wants 1 roommate so if this works for you, I'll mark you down for it. I suggest people try to do 1 roommate rather than cram rooms full like Magfest - here the rooms are relatively cheap, and you get the comfort of having a bed guaranteed for you. If you wanted to stay with him, then that would complete all rooming and no one would be stranded This is based on the registration I've been running, and doesn't include people who have not signed up. There are 18 confirmed people so far including a couple locals. We are trying to have as organized a meetup as possible, Ari has even set up a twitter account to organize events, so if you follow it and allow alerts to your phone, you'll get a text message with updates to the twitter. There's little ironing out to do If you have NOT signed up using the registration form, I have NOT taken you in account for rooming and rides. I'll link it again here: http://sgtrama.wufoo.com/forms/ocr-las-vegas-registration/ THANKS GUYS
  7. There will be at least 5 people with cars, as long as we have your info pickups won't be hard at all. Worst case scenario, you can get a shuttle from the airport to any hotel for around $6.
  8. PLEASE REGISTER FOR THE OCR VEGAS MEETUP HERE: http://sgtrama.wufoo.com/forms/ocr-las-vegas-registration/ Rooms and rides are looking pretty good so far, make sure you've registered here. A rough schedule of events will be planned since we're looking at around 20+ people and want to coordinate as well as possible, while still staying flexible. Once that's all planned, as stated, Me or Katie will send a schedule to you guys
  9. Alright, as promised, I will be coordinating rides, events and rooming. PLEASE REGISTER FOR THE OCR VEGAS MEETUP HERE: http://sgtrama.wufoo.com/forms/ocr-las-vegas-registration/ This is final and official registration - rides, events and rooming will be assigned based on the information you provide. The information you fill out will be sent to myself only, a final schedule and list of attendees will be posted on August 1st so please fill out the form before then. If you don't have a room, or have a room and need to fill it up with more people to split the bill, make a note and I will help you to find other people who still need rooms. PLEASE fill this out before August 1st so that we can finalize our plans! Thanks!!!
  10. How are these not on the site already? Love these choices.
  11. Nope, if you read your email, it states the following. Should you accept your challenge, songs will be due AUGUST 07 2010, 11:59 PM PST. When you have successfully finished your initial challenge (a COMPLETED and QUALITY remix), please upload your song using the form at http://compo.thasauce.net/rounds/view/FBRC2010. You will need a ThaSauce account in order to do so (you may sign up using the form here: http://thasauce.net/modules.php?name=Your_Account&op=new_user). If you have completed your quality remix and would like to have a second song challenged to you, please respond to this email after uploading your first completed challenge.
  12. Yes, we're waiting on the following remixers to confirm: Gario Sockpuppet swordofdestiny Arcana Biznut analoq I know Gario was having problems receiving the email so I'm waiting to hear back from him. I also had the challenge re-sent to these 6 people. Everyone else has confirmed that they will either be accepting or rerolling.
  13. http://ocremix.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=12 Lots of helpful forums there
  14. The first post will be updated by tomorrow, we're only waiting on 6 people. Gario, your request was sent to your email that you signed up for thasauce with, if you want to catch me on IRC I can see if that email address was put in wrong or something. Requests were sent out 2 days ago.
  15. The deadline is still August 7th. You'll figure something out
  16. Yours got 3 separate sources, but I tracked down 2 midis for ya and emailed them too I'm really excited about the match ups! Most look REALLY great.
  17. Reply to the email you should have gotten, so that we can lock it in.
  18. ReMixer sign-ups and requests are now CLOSED! And to the person that submitted at 11:59 PM... that one got in just fine
  19. Glad to see you aboard! We still need more requests, so if you haven't requested already GO DO IT! http://thasauce.net/FBRC2010/song-request.php
  20. Just to let people know - we ARE taking requests for songs NOW. There are more remixers signed up than requested songs. ANYONE CAN REQUEST A SONG TO BE REMIXED, Just use the form at http://thasauce.net/FBRC2010/song-request.php - Once again, the song you request has a very high chance of being remixed.
  21. At this time we are accepting 1 challenge from each forum user. If for some reason there are more remixers signed up then challenges, we will consider allowing more than one. There is a high probability of the track you request to become a completed remix.
